Lyrics:
Everybody's high on consolation
Everybody's trying to tell me what is right for me
I need a drink and a quick decision
Now it's up to me, woo, what will be
She's gone oh I, oh I, oh I
I'd better learn how to face it
She's gone oh I, oh I'd
I'd pay the devil to replace her
She's gone, oh I, what went wrong
Get up in the morning look in the mirror
I'm worn as her tooth brush hanging in the stand
My face ain't looking any younger
Now I can see love's taken her dirty toll on me
She's gone, oh I, oh I, oh I
I'd better learn how to face it
She's gone oh I, oh I, oh I
I'd pay the devil to replace her
She's gone, oh I, what went wrong
Think I'll spend eternity in the city
Let the carbon and monoxide choke my thoughts away
Pretty bodies help dissolve the memories
They can never be what she was to me
She's gone, oh I, oh I, oh I
I'd better learn how to face it
She's gone, oh I, oh I, oh I
I'd pay the devil to replace her
She's gone, oh I, what went wrong
I'm talkin' to myself
She's gone, oh I, oh I, oh I
I'd better learn how to face it
She's gone oh I, oh I, oh I
I'd pay the devil to replace her
She's gone, oh I, what went wrong
I feel like this is forever gonna be my favorite song.🥺
Yes, favourite Hall & Oates song by far!
I swear these guys have soul in their music. They incredible, even when they are older.
Takes me back to high school! Wish they were still on the charts!
Then or now... Always brings me to tears
Loved them since the 70’s and at the Horden pavilion in Sydney. Stay cool.

Awesome song and fantastic duo!
Part of a golden era of US music; Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Doobies, Eagles, Billy Joel and many more. If the 60's belonged to the UK, the 70's were Stateside!
And 8 tracks!
True
They perfected the sound in this video
I’m 20 and I feel like I was robbed by being born in a day where music has gone so shitty
Ah, this song is the story of my love life. Greatest duo of all time? Hell yes.
Still need to figure out the love life thing though…..damn….FML.
John Reeb k

I heard them sing this live, as guests on a radio show in the UK about 35 years ago. It was one of the most delightful sensations my ears have experienced!

I had no idea that this song originated ad far back as 1973.

I was in Orlando. I was staying downtown. I went out downtown. Downtown was full of millennials. All on their phones. Horrible!
Then I walked passed a bar. That song played! I went inside. And my life was good again.

Wow, I've just found my favorite version of "She's Gone!" Terrific camera work, showing the contributions of every musician. This is one group that really nails live performances, especially indoors in smaller venues like this one.
Song reminds me of Ron Burgandy

Andrew Ridgely should’ve formed a band with John Oates. Could have called them selves Second Fiddle.

Seen them 5 times and cannot wait to see them again
STILL WRITING SONGS & MORE. LEGENDARY SAXOPHONIST TAKES "SHE'S GONE" TO LOFTY HEIGHTS TO COMPLIMENT VOICES OF HALL & OATES. A SONG FOR THE AGES.
God we "grouped" for them at least 8 times in the 80'sand90's.....so much fun....cool guys...fun memories.
Darlys voice has held up considerably better than John’s.

So cool 😎 at the Troubadour! America 🇺🇸 needs Daryl's Houses 🏘️ in Vegas and Myrtle Beach ⛱ 😎 please 🙏 💘
Mi dueto favorito!!!!!!!
This is really a matter of personal taste: I'm not sure I like the way Daryl rearranged the climax( esp. the part "She's gone," from 1:35-1:38, which sounds a bit cheesy), I do like the rest of the rearrangement though.
absolute genius

She's 1/+1+2/+2+/3+3!=she's ----(gone)

Very nice music. I would call it alittle country and a little rythem and blues
Can’t say one of their best as they all are their best, John definitely suits and looks better with his moustache
Hall is suing Oates - 2024. Sad.
Hall is awesome without Oates, but Oates is not awesome without Hall. You can tell.
I'm still amazed 47 years later after being introduced to H&O
