subtenk0 Yah he retired from acting.. like early 2000's or before, I think Lethal Weapon 4 he had to, for some contract he signed. ... He has only had a couple things he has done over the years... A Cameo and a snickers commercial.. But otherwise he pretty much said "Fuck it" .
To Me it is sad that it is coming on 16 years... Meaning there are 16 yr olds walking around that have grown up with barely knowing who he is, unless a Nostalgic family introduced them.

The whole point of this story and the reason it's funny is the insinuation that Robert Deniro may have stabbed someone or many people in his life.....therefore knowing how quickly you can get the knife in and out.

He was really underrated in the 80's. Raging Bull was 1980 and Good fellas was 10 yrs later. We really lost a lot of potential great work from him during that time. Not sure why he wasn't a bigger star with great roles then.

Movies are fictional. Ergo the subject of talking about some aspects of it in some given settings becomes kinda absurd. Even if its technically a "correct" thing to point out at the time. So the retelling of the absurd part in a later setting,... makes it funny.

I like Casino, but there is something about Goodfellas that I absolutely really love, putting this two fellas in any movie any tv show any still picture will cost you lots, ya know how some people say ' it cost me a leg to get that' after you payed the bill from these two guys im sure you'd have maybe your pinky toe left out of your whole body, maybe just the nail...... anyhow it would be worth it to everyone else on this planet
