- Today I share a story of my recent visit to the Lego store pick a brick wall. I went to pay for my order and was told I didn’t qualify for the gift with purchase. What was going on?

This sounds like a good topic to get a good Alex rant. Lol
If it had gone differently it would have been an epic Jason rant
Whew, I feel for the sweat you were in for a moment.
Instead of going in-person, I just did an online PAB order, a Great Wave, and to hit the $150 mark, I went to the sale page and added a Mini Haunted Mansion since it was 40% off.
Nice. That mini haunted mansion is such a great set.
Great video!! I work at a lego store and I hadn’t heard anything about the PAB wall not qualifying for GWPs. Nothing of the sort happened at the store I work at. Will definitely ask my manager though as that is interesting. The Ghosts get shipped in individual reinforced boxes so they’re usually less likely to get damaged. Also, damaged boxes that give you 10% off have to be rung up individually as the new register system only allows for the entire transaction to be discounted, not individual items.
Yeah I had never heard of the PAB not counting toward gwp before. So not sure if it was just something at this store or region. But in the end it worked out and they took care of me which Lego is usually really good at.
Ah. It makes sense that it wouldn't be during Insiders Weekend. The deals are already too good.
I was gonna say the PAB wall is like the most profitable item they sell lmao weird they'd exclude it for 2 weeks given it wasn't on sale though. Love your sub counter, very fun!
Thanks Ryan appreciate that. I mean it’s not as cool as getting a recording studio in a Lego store but we all gotta start somewhere. I’ve enjoyed your content for quite a while.
Nice haul. I still need my alpine lodge, which I might build the holiday main street set this week as my work has let me and my 3 other co-workers off until Saturday since we won't have dogs in until then. So 6 days should be enough time to get a Christmas set added to my city finally.
nice haul!! great job!
Great haul though! I didn't know about damaged boxes...
I always ask if they have a damaged box if I want to built a set and can save 10-25%. Never hurts to ask.
In the UK the terms and conditions have ALWAYS said PAB is not included… it doesn’t always work out that way at the checkout but it does actually say it in the terms.
Great haul! And great customer service!
Say what you will about Lego, their customer service is always stellar
@@jasonsbricksin5 I agree. I buy only online because we don’t have a store close by (now that would be really dangerous for me!). I have even had pleasant conversations with one CSR who was also interested in the builds that I do. We had a great conversation. Obviously it was a slow night for her so we could do that!
I had a similar experience when the winter BAM figures released. I collect those, so I usually buy 2 pack. I grab the 2 pack and 3 cups to receive the winter bag $50+ expend. The employee informs me that PAB cups no longer count towards the GWP. I said ok thanks and left. At home I googled the terms and Pick a Brick Standard does not apply for the GWP which is the online service that takes 28 days to ship. It does not mention PAB in store. I emailed the store and they said they would be saving one for me; never intended on picking it up but the store manager approached me during Black Friday and gave it to me.
Glad they took care of you. I’ve al aye said, whatever issues you have with the Lego group, generally customer service probably is not one of them. They have great customer service.
Yeah Steve!
Weird your store had no GWP from the PAB wall during the doubple point week. I ordered PAB from their website and got all the points and GWP gifts avaible during that weekend.
Don't know why they discriminate between the physical store and the online store. I don't know what my local lego store did at that time, since I wasn't going there, but I will ask them if they did the same, next time I get by.
Yeah it was super strange and I had never heard of them doing this but I’m glad it was just those 2 weeks. I would be interested to know if it was other store that did it as well.
Probably harder for a website to determine what you’re buying vs a real person.
Are you going to do a review of either GWP set? I built both of them this evening and while I found the baubles repetitive, I really enjoyed the carriage build. And I got them by delaying one of my Christmas purchases to Dec. 1 so I didn''t really go out of my way to meet the spend threshhold.
Nice. Yes I’m thinking I will probably review the carriage. Don’t see the bauble being a very interesting review.
That looks like a very nice gwp
I have noticed with a few of the new LEGO stores that the PaB wall is getting smaller.I think they’re shifting towards the sets side of things, which are more profitable.”If you want bricks,go online,we don’t want you here!”
Yeah it definitely feels that way. But the sad part is that is 90% of why I even go to the Lego store. So it seems kind of short sighted in my opinion but that’s all it is, my opinion.
I think it depends on the store manager. I’m lucky to live near three LEGO stores. One just 4 blocks from where I work. Unfortunately the manager of this store is strictly by the book. Not flexible at all and not very friendly. I only go to this store occasionally. I prefer to drive the extra 20 minutes to the next LEGO Store down the road because the manager of this store is completely the opposite and will bend over backwards to service his customers. Even giving me the gift with purchases when I didn’t meet the spending threshold because they were out of the set I came for.
Sounds like that store manager knows how to make and keep loyal customers. Funny how such little things can really change the experience and form a real connection to their place of business. Sorry you have to travel further but definitely sounds like it’s worth it.
You had me scared for a second
Still ridiculous though
The carriage sets is awesome, I wish it wasn't a GWP though
Sorry to scare you Brickhq
@@jasonsbricksin5 😅 no worries
That's wild! Why would they make that change.
I just visited the new Spokane store and was really bummed out that they have the "new" style PAB wall according to the manager. Maybe 12 elements to choose from, a 4 foot wide section of wall. She said she was bummed out also but said that she was told that their store will get the more unique elements. Oh well, I will wait for the yearly 8 hour drive to the Portland and Seattle area stores.
Yeah I’m not a big fan of the new PAB setup. With it being smaller and offer fees part variation, I see it ending up full of less popular parts and not turning over very often. It’s kind of sad really.
Now to bring back Power Functions & their cheaper prices.
I also had a miscommunication with price adjusting my order.
Hopefully they took care of you.
Oh man, if they really did not allow PAB for the GWP that would be a real FUBAR IMHO.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is IMHO? There you go again with that letter talk.
@FivertonGal in my honest opinion
So it was just a misunderstanding? I’m both happy and relieved it wasn’t a fight.
It sounds like there is some ambiguity in a policy and the way some employees understand it versus how others understand it. Yes it worked out well in the end.
@@jasonsbricksin5 I mean as someone who works in retail, I can tell you this much, it all comes down to communications from the higher ups. If we don’t get any info, the customer gets annoyed and we lose a future potential long time customer.
hi i am in the uk i have seen the sells of pab going down as i go into the shop on the way to pick up gear i know the cost of living has hit alot here some buy
1 cup at a time on the way back from work or if they are going some where
i used to buy alot of pab in the past i can get better deals on some parts i can't get in the cups from lego or bricklink
note there's a rule about how many cups you can buy some times
Thanks for you comment and sharing where you are from. My wife and I love to see where people watch the videos. Yes I used to have a job where I would literally drive by the Lego store to and from work so I would stop multiple times a week just to check out the PAB wall. It’s probably saved me a lot of money by switching jobs since I don’t stop by as often. 😂
Yes you are right that you need to know what you are buying because usually larger parts are not as good of a value on the PAB wall.
How much does one of those PAB containers full cost?
The current large box I think cost $18.
Who’s calling baubles “bobbles” 😭😭😭
People in the US call them “bobbles”. But honestly it’s not a word most people here are familiar with.
No cardboard pab?
They said they will be switching in January unless they run out of cups before then.
The only drama I see is a drama queen carrying on lol.
