What do I do on Wednesday at 7:00? I'm usually listening to music...this time some Palestrina a cappella masses. I love the singing! Did you say there were fourteen bass clarinets in that piece? I love that sound. The timbre sends chills up my spine. My God that sounded hard but really fun. I remember I saw one of your parts that had indications like "fake it here," and "sound like you're confused." I swear I saw something like this in the past. Did I? The Tchaik 4! Yeah! Here's a story about that. In one of my first lessons with my high school teacher, I was playing one of the passages in the finale. He said I wasn't putting out enough sound. I asked him how loud he would play the passage in the orchestra and he let it rip. Right next to my right ear, he must have cranked out about 100 decibels of sound (I'm not exaggerating.), something, I'd never heard one brass player do before. No wonder people use earplugs! The Tchaik 4 is great although I prefer those big trombone passages in his 6th. How can you not like Tchaik symphonies! I saw the results of the massive snowstorm you guys had! Yikes! I hope you guys are OK! Great vlog Celine...A great start to the new year!
Oh we only got a few inches, boston didn’t really get much and it’s all gone anyhow with all the rain 🤷♀️ that sounds like an amazing Tchaikovsky experience! The trumpets are right behind me in this one and their sound is pretty bombastic as well.
I absolutely love your vlogs! I think your life as a musician is fascinating and different! Keep up the content. What an ending. Looked challenging to play but you did it ❤
What a drag that you went all that way only for your students to cancel!! At least you got your own practice in 🤣 you definitely deserved that coffee treat!
Wednesdays at 7? Playing electric bass in my church. :-) Bass anything makes me feel awesome. LOL I love that you found something challenging! I joined a community band and the other bass clarinetists decided that I should be first chair so they would not have to practice all of the solos. ;-) The music was university level, at least, so I needed to practice for HOURS every time we got new music. Where can I view the entire concert? Is it possible without moving to Boston? (sigh) Texas, here ...
I am here for a year of bass clarinet. Hmmm….7pm on Wednesday. Nothing. 😂 Yep, totally heard the clock. 🤣 I could still hear you just fine. Flutter tongue was never something I learned to master. I love that y’all play music that challenges the stereotype of what the bass clarinet can do.
I visited your UA-cam channel and your video making is very good. Your content ideas are very good. But your video has some issues, If you solve this issues, Then Your channel will get lots of views and subscribe
You pulled of an amazing vlog Celine - really great work. More like this please. 🙂
Wishing you a belated happy 2024 from Hong Kong....

Cool Vlog
Love it !
Thank you!!
There's no better time than 2024 to bring the bass clafinet to the mainstream!
Agreed!!
Immaculately sounded good there!
I feel like the leader of the Beasts should be a Russel.
Also I really hate when people waste my time, that’s one thing that reeeeally grinds my gears.
Consider my gears ground 🙄 especially when it’s the first of the day. “I left my bed for THIS?!”
Good one
Love this.
Hahahahahaa New Years resolutions was to make my vision board early and haven't done it yet😅
It's so easy to get wrapped up in life and forget to vlog, and then you're like nooooooo whyyyyy (I do this often)

Yeah this was a super fun day but I’m always bummed when cool things happen and I’m not able to capture it the way I want to 😂

Bring the BASS!!
I feel like I have been in that Church before… 🤔
It’s in Newton, we play there frequently so it’s definitely been in former videos
