I have used the pazzo levers before and the stuck lever has a black plastic. you have to take it off and place it on the new levers. I had to do the same on my HP4 levers as well.

Make sure your bike is up to date w/ software from BMW. Expect the first month or so for the bike to not run so hot. Will more than likely experience the bike shutting down randomly upon stopping. Low RPM's. Lack of throttle response. However, after so many miles or about a month for me the on board computer started to learn the bikes new requirements. My bike right now runs great. No problems what so ever. However i still have to recommend getting the bike tuned still. I'm currently saving up for a Bren flash, which in my opinion will ultimately be the right thing to do. This was my personal experience. You might have a much better or worse response. But that's what i would expect.

My woman friend has owned a BMW Scooter for 1.5 years now and wants to move up into a real bike. I currently own a 2015' BMW K 1600GT and she wants to keep pace with me. Would you recommend this BMW model? Her riding skills are good but shifting might be an obstacle. But the scooter actually weighs more than this bike so I don't think she'd be out-of--her-league so to speak owning such a great machine. Any thoughts? Thanks.
this is a lot of bike for someone coming from a scoot. plus it's not the most comfortable ride, I own a tiger 800 for my get around towner. as far as headers, yes anytime someone says full system that means headers down to pipe. it's from akrapovic. as far as difficulty of install, I didn't do it, local BMW shop did it
You gotta remember the BMW Scooter weighs about 550 pounds. Not exactly chump change. She can handle my BMW K 1600GT very well. That weighs about 650 or so. But we'll see. Thanks for your input.

that makes no sense at all! unless while browsing the bike you somehow activated/ or controlled your max RPM's (which is only controllable in PIT mode if i'm not mistaken). I recommend taking that to your nearest BMW dealership. I'm sure they will install the latest software's that are needed. I'm betting that will fix that odd problem you've seemed to have run into.
Its a double bubble from PUIG. I love it. I don't ever get that low on the street (or track) so it's pretty much cosmetic for me only. However, its very thick and very high quality. I highly recommend. Even if you wanted to stay clear.

What you mean is that to have that sound you have to put that akrapovic system and a ECU because if you just change the exhaust, Is not going to make that effect since the ECU that brought your motorcycle was programmed for the series exhaust. (I am Spanish and it costs me a little to understand, I understood correctly? greetings from Spain)
Thank you Sir for the shout out from Spain!!! The exhaust sounds the way it does because i went with the full exhaust system. I mentioned sending my ECU out because it will change the fuel mapping for the bike and i will get more Horsepower out of it, and it'll back and after fire less. It'll still sound the same though if i send the ECU out or not. ECU would pretty much change nothing in the sound, just performance improvement. Hope that answers your question. I was as well. Spent the extra money and got the BMW. Glad I did. That's all i'm going to say about that because i don't have any real world experience on the R1.
i did not install any power commanders, I will be reflashing my ecu hopefully within the next 6 months (was supposed to) a long time ago, however like usual life stuff happens and this has take the back burner. I recommend if you do this full exhaust reflashing. If you don't the bike will learn on it's own like mine has but it takes a month of riding for it to fix itself.
There is, I'd say its just a little bit better in everyway... braking, acceleration, suspension, handling, feels lighter in and out of corners. However i must say, I've sat on the new 2020, and that will be the next bike to buy!

glad to hear it. reliability, I had an 2011 s1000rr before this one with 34k miles on it with minimal problems. I've heard horror stories before, but I personally can vouch, I'm pretty hard on my bikes and have no major mechanical problems. however I do keep up to date with all my services and believe in taking pride in my motorbikes. so I'm sure that's another reason I've had no issues.
I suppose that full akra system costs a lot? I know this bike is a beast but isn't it about as good just with a nice open slip on exhaust? I don't think such a full exhaust system is worth the money... Especially from such a brand which you pay a lot for ;)
Yeah, it takes some getting used to. Now that I'm a owner I actually like it, makes it easy to spot out a BMW out of the crowd. Which was a problem there for a while, from a distance all the sport bikes started looking the same. Find one of these to look at in person... it can sway one's outlook, in person they are really something special!

when you went to the track did you have the bike noise tested? if so what db did your exhaust read?
when you started the bike that rpm was hunting and the engine running is not steady, is this normal or needs tuning because my bike acts the same.

yeah, nice slip on will be fine. However full systems weight less, out perform, and are way louder. My opinion, it's worth the extra 800 bucks.
