- In this video, I review the first season of the US version of The Traitors, which ends up being a really solid iteration for the Traitors franchise, with this one in particular standing out due to the story of one specific player.

What an absolute masterclass by Cirie. One of the best strategic minds I’ve ever seen. Made 0 mistakes when the other traitors literally all sabotaged their own game.
I would argue Cirie sabotaged Cody’s game, or at least started it. Cody obviously made the mistake of talking to Kyle, but Cirie forced him to actively make the wrong move with Ryan and take out someone who would go to bat for him and emotionally offset Cody in a way we havent seen yet
I think Cirie never had any plans of going to the end with any of her fellow traitors. Rewatching I’m like yeah she was positioning herself to eventually betray Cody down the road but Cody I think wasn’t expecting her to be so forceful on Ryan going home since she had been fairly quiet in regards to their targets in beginning and she really pressured him to do what was clearly not in his best interest and that shook him to a point where it made him sloppy. I agree if he didn’t say anything maybe he could position himself down the line to target Cirie but I doubt it
@@tylerjohnson1885 I have to disagree. She asked Cody multiple times if he was sure about getting rid of Ryan and his ego made him go with Ryan. That's on him. I'll say the same thing with his blunder of talking to Kyle and his dodgy emotional disposition. That's on him.
Yeah cirie made Ryan want to prove himself but Ryan could have asked her to target anyone else. He didn’t think long run game.
@@tylerjohnson1885It’s a leap in logic to blame Cirie for Cody’s downfall when ultimately it was his choice to take out Ryan especially since Cody has played big brother twice, won once, and betrayed his best ally (Nicole). If anything he can only blame himself for being outplayed.
Cirie while playing great benefited from having quite possible the stupidest group of faithfuls. The fact that the 4 time survivor legend had no target is crazy to me, I would've voted her out without any evidence.
i mean cody is one of the best players in big brother history and the fact that he only made it halfway is only a better testament to cirie’s ability to form social bonds
I would have voted her out quickly too, lol. Her kindness would have piqued my suspicion.

That was a more obvious winner and bigger steamroll than Redemption Island, but it was so much more entertaining

I think as soon as Cody went home I knew Cirie was winning because I felt he was really only person who could stop her but he messed up
@@boopityb00p oh it definitely was a steamroll. Especially after cody being out, it was smooth sailing for Cirie's plans til the end
According to exit press, Cirie convinced Andie and Quentin to vote Arie out at 4 because "he doesn't need the money"
that’s sort of what she said, she said if they had to vote someone out at 4, they all agreed it would be arie because the money would mean more to them than him
She also said it’s bc he only had to be a traitor towards the end and thus did not have to do as much.
She’s such a snake for that - because you deserve to screw these other two people out of 250 grand? This game was made for her, I guess? You truly have to be out for yourself. She killed Ari off out of selfishness

I really don’t understand why Andie and Quentin thought that none of the final four were traitors. Only 2 traitors had been banished before this point, so there HAD to be at least one more. So Andie and Quentin were pretty stupid here.
Not only that, but by Arie quitting and saying he was recruited later in the game he was signaling to the other two that there was still one traitor there, which would have been brilliant if the other two had picked up on it. If he was the only traitor there, why would he have quit?
Quentin seemed like a nice guy but god did he never get anything right the whole season, everything he said was just wrong the whole time
@@MrRaftakis good point. The faithfuls were not thinking. Clearly he needed to be recruited by someone. And Arie quit because someone needed to be banished and he knew the numbers were against him
Well I’m on episode 4 rn and so far they’ve never been explicitly told how many traitors there are, for all they know there’s only 2 and they got both of them

I think Steph played well! I think she figures out it's Cirie if she stayed at that point, obviously not great, but still I didn't expect her to be that good here.
I wished she got banished instead of being murdered though.. things would be more interesting
Loved the show but found myself VERY bored at the challenges, I wonder if they could do something like "Whatever money ISN'T won in challenges by the group goes DIRECTLY to the Traitors, which would force the Traitors to play a little more risky for some guaranteed cash
The Mole on Netflix is basically that where the Mole entire goal is to throw challenges because they get the money lost and the goal of the players is to discover who it is because someone could just suck, made a mistake or pretending to be the Mole to screw with you. Also The Mole I feel like had better challenges but The Traitors is overall a better show.
@@darriusbethea2373 Does the Traitor win the lost money on the Mole? I did really like The Mole Challenegs this season! I just wish there was more risk for the Traitors but more reward for the risks
Agree 100% i actually fast forwarded the challenges as theres no incentive to watch at all and adds nothing to the show
Facts, there was no incentive around challenges other than the pot… but it gave no information because everyone shared that same goal! I like your idea, but mine would’ve been to give a chance at shields for members of the winning team from the first challenge and also more than 1, at least in the beginning.
I think the reason they meet around a well is because The Traitors is kinda similar to the game mafia/Town of Salem, and they meet around a well in Town of Salem. I could be wrong, but I kinda noticed the similarities between the two.

My wife and I loved watching this! We only watch Big Brother, not Survivor, so we didn’t know who Cirie is coming into this. Very happy to see her win! Andie is SOOOOO likable! I hope Andie is on more shows in the future and I also hope Andie learned some big time lessons from this show and I wish Andie all the best in the future! It was heart-breaking watching Andie during Cirie’s reveal.

@@kody3315 i watch all season of survivor, many people said Cirie is a good player, and i never Saw that, in any season she was in, there are other player that WAY better than her, Cirie is veteran, she knew how to play this kind of game, but she play with noobs and disaster in the traitor, thats why she can win it.
I think you should do a player rankings for this season, all though it would be obvious who is first though.
I’m so excited to see this show moving forward. I do think having a release schedule like the circle where they put out a few episodes at a time would benefit so the conversation could last longer. Cirie played such a great game, but i did not like her reasoning that she “deserved” the money more to get arie out, but damn was it entertaining to watch. What a great show! Can’t wait for season 2

Completely agree on being burnt out after watching the UK version. Was good but wasn't as good as the uk version.

Wait, that WAS Ryan Lochte?? I thought it might be but I thought there was no way he would be cast on this show. Also, he basically got a purple edit, which was weird.
I also don't know how people didn't suspect cirie. I genuinely assumed she would be picked to be traitor before it was announced, people just trust her no matter what

Wow. Reading about Cody and Ryan made me realize why Bam when he seemed so random. Cirie was already taking out potential allies/ride or dies of the other traitors by subtly challenging their egos. That is so insanely strategic. Mind blown.
I thought this was amazing and i can't wait for season 2 if it happens but I really feel bad for andie and quentin I can't even think about how hard it would be to be in their shoes
It litteraly took me 1 1/2 days to watch this, which I find impressively addicting.
I just finished this show and MAN, it was a fantastic watch. Can’t wait to watch the UK and AUS next.
Huge congratulations to Cirie on a game very well played!! The stars were stars and everyone else was kind of a dud lol. I also had some issues with the editing and focusing too much on things that didn’t matter and not showing enough of things that did matter. A fun but not great season, boosted heavily by a very satisfying outcome. I strongly agree with those who have said this season was basically a love letter to Cirie!
My heart broke for Andi ...for some reason she had my emotions tied into what this win would mean for her. And her loyalty to being a good friend. I'm sure she's a good friend outside of this game.
I think she never had a strategic bone in the entire game. Very passive.
I felt really bad for her too, but I don't get why she signed up for the game knowing people are going to go out of their way to deceive you.
I just want to point out that Andie’s pronouns are they/them. It was hard to watch them be crushed by Cirie but so satisfying to see a Cirie dominate and win the way she deserved.
@@katrinaconnor923 no one cares what her pronouns are. She signed up for a game based on deception and never once questioned herself being blindly loyal to people when anyone could be a traitor. Im glad she lost because she was a terrible player in challenges and at the table even though i did like her as a person I’m still going to call a spade a spade.

Yes!!!! about the Golden Shield.... that should carry over to protect one from "murder" and Banishment from the game....... Otherwise make a separate power for one time use.... Like a diamond Shield to protect one from "murder" and Banishment

This! Werewolf is played like this. You have the shield card & you can use it on yourself or to save someone else. It makes the wolves (traitors) sweat more during the game. I wish they threw more obstacles in this game for the traitors. They were never suspected until they did something incredibly stupid.
If i were on this show my strategy would be to pay attention to who votes with the group in the first 3 roundtables. Most likely all the traitors are among this group because they will vote with numbers to avoid suspicion and also to save themselves. If you can survive those first few murders and roundtables then you have a narrowed down shot of who it could be. Then share this strategy with those who arent in that group, because they are the most trustworthy. Its more logical then just going based on personality and behavior, but you can also factor that into who you target from the narrowed down list. This of course could backfire and also requires some luck of survival before you share it.
Cirie is a legend. I live for her. But next season , please recruit faithfuls who use their brain and have logic sense. The faithfuls in season 1 were cringe to watch. Namely someone who made it to the end but got every banishment wrong :/
What about the shield? Is kinda useless? I thought would be “idol” like survivor..they did not use the shield at all.
finally a deserving finish for the great Cirie Fields!!!!! I think her legacy on survivor helped her . People trust her more probably because of her loyalty in survivor to winners. I mean Aras and Parvati are examples of the power of allying with Cirie.

I dont know if i would have had the balls to play an almost “solo” traitor game ciri did. I would have definitely killed shelbi after stephanie discovered the note and passed it off as cirie telling other people about the note before the night, had cirie and christian not flipped on cody they could have saved him for that one gote, get another kill, and at least survive one more day with 3 traitors. I think christians play was the dumbest play in the game, i think that arie could have easily passed it off as the traitors hit him while he had the shield, and then i think cirie and arie should have just voted out kate at 6 and take out 1/2 of the faithfuls and make it an easy 3 to 1 traitor lead and a majority win
She only kept her fellow traitors long as they were needed. Regardless of Cody staying I think Cirie was gonna turn on him eventually. Soon as Cody went I’m like she gonna turn on Christian because he a liability and she not the player who gonna share that money. Once they said they could recruit I knew she was picking Ari because he was probably the most intelligent of ones left and would probably do whatever she said. If I was Ari that should’ve been red flags that she gonna do me like Cody and Christian (granted they self-imploded).
I feel like itd be better if people were put on trial every round

True. In post show interviews Arie says that Cirie, Andie and Quentin were basically a trio so the chances of him winning or swaying a vote actually puts him in the firing line. We saw that when Cirie eventually decides to out him.
He could have potentially flagged that it seems strange that there was no female traitor revealed, that would have definitely thrown a spanner in the works. But again, highly likely that Andie and Quentin vote Arie out regardless. I still have a big question mark on how Cirie would have dealt with no female traitor being revealed, but I think she probably would have swayed Quentin to vote Andie.
I personally think this show is designed for cirie perfectly. Her game in this show is so masterful it’s honestly flabbergasting. Mists the finalists so hard it’s insane
I think it is designed for traitors to do well in general..Cirie is Cirie but the game is so favored towards traitors. They need to adjust the rules to make it more interesting
The biggest flaw with this show for me is that its too easy for the traitors. They have too much control over the game and on top of that significant odds in their favor for banishment.
The easiest way to solve this would be to actually provide an incentive for challenges besides just the pot because both parties share that goal.
Since they split them into teams in almost all challenges, the winning group should be granted immunity from murder that night or at least have a chance to acquire 2-3 shields early in the game when numbers are high and less so as they dwindle. This would limit the traitors options for murder and also actually increase the odds for smart/strong/deserving players to continue in the game, rather than sheep (andie) or clueless players (Quentin) a ride to the final just because they are likable or bad at the game.
It’d also give them a chance to authentically voice suspicions and generate conversations without fear of being murdered that night. Even with this change i still believe the traitors would have a significant advantage, but it would certainly make it more fair, entertaining, and sensible.
Oh… and I also could not stand the host 😂
The US and UK version are almost identical, except the US is so damn boring, like watching paint dry 😪😴.. Australias traitors wins as the most entertaining, has the best contestants and fun challenges. Unfortunately it’s not in a cool castle though
If they changed it where traitors earned money lost( give incentives to throw) and make the Shield more interesting like have it hidden somewhere in the castle. ALSO they don’t sleep in the actual castle they only film three they just pretend the contestants actually do.

3 traitors was enough. Adding Arie was unnecessary.
I’ve watched UK and US, I liked them both. Also not very familiar with the US celebrities so that probably had less of an impact on me as a viewer. Would have loved to have watched traitors Australia but saw a spoiler for the winner.

Were the traitors not allowed to expose the other ones during their post-banishment speeches, especially if the other ones turned on them? Seems like poor game design unless there was some contractual thing about that we didn't see.
Cody one I feel like he was probably considering it but Cirie didn’t outright accuse him to his face and he admitted immediately he never should’ve said what he said to Kyle as it exposed him and it was all on him. Christian I feel like was immediately ready for blame because he acknowledged I did this myself. Ari probably could’ve said something but he quit the game and technically didn’t get banished so he was probably prevented from doing sk
it was at the very start when the traitors first met up, before they went into the turret for the first time. alan made them say that they wouldn't rat each other out cause it would defo ruin the game
i felt Cirie almost threw the traitor position as arie hadnt been talked about being Traitor and her calling him out at the end should have totally been a lightbulb moment to andie and Quentin that how would she know unless she didnt wanna split the money with him and they were Both traitors it felt super Greedy

@@bigbrotherspoilers9756 Apparently Cirie kind of convinced Quinten and Andie that if another banishment occurs at the fire of truth, they all will vote out Arie together. Cirie classified Arie as not needing the cash prize as compared to the others. No matter what Arie will definitely not survived the banishment even if he tried hard to convince since the other 3 are so close together and they trust Cirie more over Arie.
I lost ALL respect for Cirie. 😭 I was rooting for her the entire time. Cody & Christian dug their own graves. But what the heck?! Cirie betrayed Arie not once but TWICE! It was really gross watching her win. I felt AWFUL for Andie & Quentin. 😭😭😭
