There are some rules. One of those being not to stuff your face and slobber everywhere. And especially not to do this on camera. But hey big bro here needs to show us the food is good by binging

This looks like an umami winner and besides - many Italians love Korean food, seems to be one of those randoms - spicy tekbokki is also appreciated as Korean gnocchi from what I've seen.
Tteokbokki are great, a friend of mine who's really into Korean food made them for me once. Sadly one of my less spice-tolerant friends kinda had to surrender after a while lol.
Since you're curious about an Italian's opinion, here is my take: I wouldn't call it Carbonara but whatever it is, I would be very happy to try it. And yes, even if it's not Carbonara I would have been heartbroken if he added cream. It would have normalized and toned down a lot of the notes that he added to the dish.
@@carloinnamorati5897 sure, it's not carbonara but it is miso carbonara. fusion food exists otherwise a lot of your "traditional" dishes in italy wouldn't exist how they are. tomatoes weren't even introduced to italy until the 16th century lmao
@@SilverReviews You make very good points and I agree with you for the most part. That being said, today like never before, cultures around the world are rapidly approaching the same point. Globalization is happening very fast. In a few generations, lots of cultural aspects will disappear. I'm all for fusion style food, as long as it makes sense and is an interesting variation (such as the one shown in the video - I love the idea). The reason I wouldn't call it "Miso Carbonara" and maybe something along the lines of "Roman style Udon" is that Carbonara is a very specific dish, which is similar to many other Roman style pastas that have completely different names. It's akin to saying you're making Seiten Big Mac instead of saying you're making a Seiten Burger (it's an exaggeration but you get the point).
@@carloinnamorati5897 I’v red somewhere that carbonara means that one of the main ingredients is “carbon” or black pepper. Right?! So if you want your dish to be called carbonara then you have to highlight the black pepper. Am I correct or,,? 😅
@@ftwi1 I think the name comes from the people who started making (or popularized) it: the "carbonari", which translates to coal workers. That being said, the pepper is indeed one of the key flavors :)
Its scary how it actually has the real carbonara base, usually people say "its my version" and it has NOTHING to do woth carbonara, this actually is carbonara but with added ingridients which makes it his own version for real. Thumbs up for a cool non traditional version that still respects the base of it!
It’s about 11.50pm in Australia and I’m not about to get up a make of bowl of this yummyiness but if you put a bowl in front of me I’d sure eat it up and lick the bowl clean.
I love this, cooking has no rules!!!

ofc it does. Just because this is a fusion dish that seems to work well it doesnt mean that cooking has no rules xd
Your an idiot if you think cooking has rules @Stefaneee7

It only becomes an issue when people change a dish so much and still call it the same dish
Fusion food is usually surprisingly good.
Fusion food is how we have so much excellent varieties of food! The traditionalists don't understand this lol.

is it culturally confused? yes. Is it delicious? Also yes.

YES PLEASE YAMMMY
Surprisingly more traditional than American carbonara.
The miso and gochujang are probably less bad than putting tons of heavy cream in it at least
I always make as close to authentic as possible dishes. But you inspire me to do things differently this time.
This is magic
🤤❤️👏🏽
I like how you always "show your work" with the empty plate 🤤
This looks great
honestly it's still more authentic than many pseudo ''carbonara recipes'' out there
looks delicious ofc
This makes me want to cook again 🔥🔥🔥
Delicious 🎉

As an Italian, I am now intrigued and probably trying it😂
Nice!

Io non adoro la carbonara, ma come l'hai fatta tu forse la mangerei 😊
Ok, gotta try this but I need replacement for the pork?
This guy gets all the good ingredients at his supermarket. I don't have that were I live
Never tried this, but I fucking love tomyam carbonara
Ooooo someone else watches Hwoo!

I swear you gotta move fast as to get it all done in 30 mins😂😂
I wish you listed the measurements somewhere 😢 it’s hard to follow like this
Are the mushrooms integral to the recipe? I ask because I'm deathly allergic to mushrooms and truffles
Wow! So easy! This will definitely take 30 minutes
I tried this tonight. It was ok. I kinda felt like the gochujang and miso were fighting against eachother in flavor
I think the Italians would be happy that he didn't put cream. 🤣
Can we replace the pork with beef?
Am I weird for being weirded out by egg yolks as a sauce/addon?
Maybe it's an acquired taste.
Apart from that it looks excellent.
Can I have some?
Yus
If you can't find Guanciale you can use pancetta.
I would cook it if I had time smh '(
For that leftover sauce, put rice with grilled garlic chicken breast
You might want to be specific on the amounts
Can we substitute eggs with anything else?😭
Share this to your italian friend.
I need to fucking try this.
I hear italians try to complain but also complimenting
You got a kimchi recipe? I wanna make home made kimchi and use that as my utensil to eat meat.
It looks nice and it surely is a different interesting take but no offense, the traditional carbonara takes way less time
There's no way this isn't at least a 9.4/10
This is like carbonara on roids because it's spicier and tastier
Cool lmao
Enjoy 🗿
30 mins? You underestimate my incompetence
So many italians are gonna be so mad watching this 😂😂😂!!
Let's see how Lionfield or Vincenzo would react to this 😂🤣
Italians left the chat...
perfect without the extra egg yolk... what does it add / taste like anyway?
Welcome to the quickest meals you never have all the ingredients for lol
At least he's not using cream
But what made it spicy?
Chili paste and chili powder
