But got a better job 😉
She can’t be fired lol she signed a contract she’s guaranteed a number of shows under her contract per actors equity
But she can probably be fired if she didn’t follow the terms of the contract, like listening to the music director
it seems to be a tradition for last Elphaba's- ive seen at least four bootlegs of different last shows. I wouldn't be surprised if it was an allowed tradition.
Was the riff a bit much? Yes. Would I also pay an obscene amount of money to hear it live and be caught off gaurd, surprised, and delighted by it? Also yes.
My Mother and I attended this performance! My mind was blown! I’ve seen it 2x more and this was by far the best performance.

There have been MANY amazing, talented women who have played Elphaba. But Jessica Vosk, IMO, is the definitive version of this iconic character!

She captures the voiceism of the WWOTW from the movie perfectly. I also really like the comedic element on the "quick get on" 😄
They should have had Jessica in the movie but I want a pro shot of the play between the 2 movies.

This is a badass show for a talented drummer to play. They can just have a field day. I would’ve loved to see Ronnie Tutt or Neil Peart play this show for instance.
Jessica is the best Elphaba hands down, IMO. Just a natural talent making it look and sound effortless.

listen i know they have their rules and regulations down to literally which lines they're allowed to riff on and which ones they're not, but i love a big, busy, gymnastics-full DG and no one will ever sway me on this. i know people think it's annoying and i get Why but that could honestly never be me. imo that's what other songs are for. when i hear someone sing DG i want to be Overstimulated 😭

@@EasternStandardTim Idina is kind of hit or miss. She has impressive and amazing performances, and then she has low energy performances with a lot of voice cracks. I suggest you watch the one from 31/10/2006 in London, as that was the best one
Kristin is still really good, and one of the best glindas the show has seen. Idina....yeaaaaaaaa shes never been a good elphaba in terms of vocals. She isnt awful or anything, but you wouldn't have to think hard to name 10 elphabas better than her in a short amount of time
@@dragonpaulz_ well, Idina's voice is really dependant of her mood, of her health, and of her energy, really... In her bad performances she was either sick or visibly tired. Or she was nervous and trying to rush it (that especially happened when she knew she was getting recorded, like the Tony's, the late show, the OBC promotional video, the OLC promotional video, and to some extent in the Royal Variety too, though she was also getting over a cold). In the recorded performances where she didn't know fans were recording her, she was more relaxed and sounded way better. That was especially prominent in the Halloween 2006 performances. She was healthy, she wasn't trying to rush, she took all her time, extending the "me"'s and even did some riffs. She sounded amazing. In her last performance as Elphaba (31/12/2006), she was visibly emotional, which lead her to cry on stage, but she was still a lot more relaxed than usual and still managed to get her grand finale with a blast, I mean, I don't think there was any better way of closing the cycle of her time as Elphie than with that amazing performance
