I have below a list of all the equipment we use on most our shoots. They are direct links to Amazon, where we bought all the same equipment. These are affiliate links, so if you want to support us, and buy the item off the link, will make a little money off of it. Your not charged any extra, and it goes to supporting us, just wanted to make sure you knew ahead of time :) These are all products I stand by 100 percent regardless, and all products we use on a day to day basis. At the end of this list I'll have a link to a blog going into even more depth about the equipment we use.
    Camera Equipment I Use:
Canon 5D Mark III (use for all our behind the scene videos):
    amzn.to/1Xe3uL3
    Devinsupertramp Signature Series Glidecam:
    amzn.to/1UU9UjC
My Favorite Lenses in Order of used most:
    Canon 16-35mm F/4 USM
    amzn.to/1Xe3KtA
    Canon 14mm F/2.8
    amzn.to/1UUacqQ
    Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 II
    amzn.to/1UUaf5X
    Canon 24mm F/1.4L II
    amzn.to/1UUaj5S
    Canon 50mm F/1.2
    amzn.to/1Xe3XwT
For all our aerial shots, we use the DJI Inspire 1, with two controllers.
    amzn.to/1UUauhl
Our favorite audio mic for on board camera:
    Rode Pro Mic
    amzn.to/1R8xPMH
We also use B+W circular polarizer. They get rid of the reflections from water, windows, and most plants/green things. We use them whenever the sun is out. When buying a polarizer make sure to get the right size for the lens that you own. I feel if your going to spend the money and buy an expensive lens, it's worth spending the extra money to buy a polarizer of the same quality to match your lens, otherwise your lens won't be as clear. Plan on spending about 130 dollars US for one.
Here's a couple different sizes for common lenses:
    77mm.
    amzn.to/1UUbjH2
    82mm
    amzn.to/1UUbnXp
GoPro Hero4 Black Edition. This is the one we use and recommend.
    amzn.to/1RIIxno
    The GoScope We Use:
    go-scope.com/?u....
    Western Digital 2TB Hard Drives:
    amzn.to/255VuBx
    Transcend Card Reader:
    amzn.to/1WsByD7
Here's the drones I would get in order of my favorite. We use the DJI Inspire 1 for our videos.
    DJI Inspire 1
    amzn.to/1ow1cuS
-I would get two controllers if possible to have the ability to have someone control the camera as well.
    DJI Phantom 4: http:amzn.to/1RY2AEm
    3DR Solo:
    amzn.to/1RY2DAf
If you have a very small budget and don't have enough to buy a big/medium drone, this is an awesome option to learn how to fly for under $100.00. They have a small camera on them, I would use them not for the camera but strictly to learn how to fly.
    Parrot Mini Drone:

+Tijmen vdP if you want a proper result, i would not recommend this idea. The result can be an image with "pumping" focus which looks kinda ugly and amateur I think. Just do the job properly, set up your focus upfront and than shoot with a constant distance between the object and your camera, so you will not have any problems.

Outstanding video brotha, I'm a full time wedding videographer, it helped me get out of the restaurant industry! I really dig shooting weddings because it's work that will be remembered and cherished not only by the couple, but by their future little ones as well. Thanks for intruducing me to Tyson and his channel, I'll be binge watching it like crazy.

  • @Hendea2

Fantastic video. I used to do video back in the old days but went photo when I lost my B camera, but very similar style with capturing people as people and balancing being invisible with getting the couple comfortable quickly so that you get natural shots and they forget you is there is so, SO important. One thing that I think might have been missing is the idea of having a second camera guy and the importance of knowing weddings in general so you don't miss stuff (or market yourself primarily as highlights).
Certainly can't say enough about the importance of being good with people for weddings though. Way more important than being good with a camera, though both are certainly important.

  • @terryvideo

i totally agree, tyson. i've only done two weddings with a team.. but i feel getting the most natural shots are so much better and REAL. and yea, devin.. glidecam adds so much more than just static shots.. style is key. thanks for the tips!

    • @danicmda
      @danicmda 8 років тому +2

Just returned a ronin and a handheld hymnal. It's so much easier to set it up. With the ronin you have to be careful how you store it. Glide can I just lay it on the back seat when going filming. Takes less space. It just takes more practice. Ronin M took me about 3-4 hours to finally get wifi working so I connect it to my phone. Glidecam I would of been filming in minutes! But that's just my personal preference.

    • @thebyrdmossedem
      @thebyrdmossedem 8 років тому

+danicmda That's kinda false. My Ronin-M fits in a backpack, takes 3 minutes to setup. I run with the same lens on it, so I don't have to make adjustments. and It's buttery smooth. My other channel is /byrdanthony33

Also, when you price yourself right, you will attract clients that are looking for videographers who find value in their work and have confidence in their product.
So pricing yourself low will typically attract clients who just want a cheap videographer and don't care about how you value your work. That's when you start having some jobs that aren't enjoyable because the clients don't care.

You and your team are incredible. My partner & I want to hire your team to capture our wedding when we get married. I am practicing with a steady cam inspired by you. I am using the Laing P4s as I am a beginner with a steadycam. I will upgrade to your model in the near future if needed. You are a incredible talent and real inspiration Thanks for sharing. I use to shoot weddings for a living during the days of film using a Hasselblad 500ELX and 500CM camera. I enjoyed using film back then but not the digital world has revolutionised everything.

Devin, I'm interested in export settings you use for youtube.
I've noticed lot of the times i export h.264 (which is suggested codec for youtube, theres even a youtube export preset in premiere), the export gets dull in contrast and colors dont look that great anymore and it gets even worse after youtube upload. I've noticed that your videos look sharp and with very rich colors and contrast.

    • @kinkunkankun
      @kinkunkankun 8 років тому

+screenreview The Sony A7s II. The price difference between your current camera and the A7s II is big, but if you get to know how to use the 600D very well and try to get the most out of it, you will eventually come to the point when you know you would like something better. I use the 600D too myself, and I am about to buy a new camera, as the 600D feels a bit limited and i feel like i have gotten every little bit out of it and can not get more. The quality is what is in the way now - it's not that great on the 600D. But you can record some extremely good video with it, if you know how to use it.
      GL m8!

was it the people? I bet it was the people. Some people are easy to work with others are a nightmare especially if you aren't a people person yourself.

+cheddar07 kinda of, no one understood the amount of work that goes into making it, and never appreciated the work. Also I would try and charge accordingly but people would just laugh at how much I was charging and pay me less. Plus some people end up basically telling you how they want the video and you don't get to express yourself creatively.

TheBarthinator this is true, lots of people really don't understand the time and effort that goes into filming and then editing a video. They just think it's as easy as pointing a camera and then putting it on a DVD afterwords. For the past 4 months I've been editing and filming. I don't like the dealing with people side of the work much, but I do enjoy editing which is really what I want to focus on. So we'll see how things go season is almost over. We'll see if I continue with it next year or if I find another way to freelance my editing skills.

Last year I made a wedding video for my mom and her new husband ( at the time I was 14.) It was my first big project! You can check it out on my channel it is the latest video. I would love your constructive criticism.

I sure hope he's not charging $400 for a wedding video these days!!!! That's insanely low!

I wasn't too sure if he meant $400 per video or $400 per hour of shooting (however long it takes to shoot the video).
