    Just an absolutely true story- I had botox done by a respected surgeon in a large city. It was too much Botox for my particular system and/or physiology. End result was a hospital stay and permanently weak eyebrow muscles so my eyebrows "tremble" when I raise them. I would say if you have a history of sensetiveties to medications, be very conservative about Botox injections.

    I love my little reusable Pacifica patches! I’ve have the undereye and the forehead ones about a year. Im too scared to use tape, lol. My husband is allergic to soooo many adhesives… most bandaids, athletic/medical tape gives him a painful rash. Tegaderm film is the only thing that doesn’t give him blisters and irritation.

    I am using medical tapes, they are quite cheap here in Asia, recently ordered silicone patches from a big chinese retailer. But still the first step is eye health: wearing glasses/contact lenses, sunglasses and caps/ hats if needed, using sunscreen.

    I started to get 11's at 55 (hey I had a good run). Frownies helped me from making them worse by making me less expressive there and to not let me do it while I sleep. It also helps me not squish my face in the night. When I lean too much on one side, it tightens. I bough tmeical tape to save money after I run out. we shall see. But I wish I started in my 40's!

    Why is Gen Z so scared of lines and wrinkles? When I was that age no one had a care in the world about those things. We were too busy living and having fun. It's sad to see how hyperfixated they are on their looks. And with things like filters and Instagram how could they not be?

    Im only 27 and I have a deep deep crease between my eyebrows. Im extremely expressive no matter how much I try to pay attention to my facial expressions and I’ll spend hours massaging my forehead, doing face yoga, etc.. but as a Christian I tend to be constantly expressive (because of crying, praying, singing passionately) so even if I manage to smooth out the crease a little, it’ll come back instantly after a church service.
    I’ve done a lot of acupuncture, physio exercises, jade rolling, and so on but my eyebrow muscles are so pronounced that even if I manage to get rid of the crease in the skin, I still look like I have it because of the muscles being so pronounced.
    I can feel so much tension in them constantly (I’ve had migraines every day since I was 9) and I don’t know if there’s a way to stop using those muscles so much naturally.
    I don’t like the idea of using Botox as so many things can go wrong medically and aesthetically, and I don’t like the idea of having to get something injected in my face multiple times a year for the rest of my life.
    Is there any way to fix this issue naturally or do I just have to accept I’m gonna look angry for the rest of my life? 😅

    Wait. But there's something I don't understand. For the silicone patches, they all say to apply to clean dry skin. No serums or lotions underneath. . . . .so what about our skincare routine?!?

    But Botox keeps the muscles from moving 24/7 which certainly increases muscle atropy, but how could that be accomplished with tape? Is she/the/he suppose to keep it on all day and night? Cause I highly doubt that 8 hour inactivity (patches on at night) could accomplish the same feat (as botox) in the same amount of time.

    • @leah-7011

      wrinkles are often made worse/deeper when we sleep due to smashing our face into our pillows if we're a side or stomach sleeper, specifically smile lines and crows feet. so if people are literally training themselves to sleep on their backs to avoid it, then yea, maybe taping your face at night as a preventative measure is worth it.

    • @deenice7155
      @deenice7155 11 місяців тому

      I get your point, but the video wasn't using tape as a preventative method. AT least not the young lady from the tik tok video. Her results are more reversal that comes with muscle atropy. And her results were immediate (7 days I think) and on par if not faster than Botox. seems scientifically and medically dubious at best.@@leah-7011

  • @Siberius-

    Having watched 7 seconds, would this not speed up wrinkle-formation?
    Okay maybe not... wrinkles are from creases during facial expressions (or a smooshed face in a pillow), done a lot of times over the years. But it seems like having skin pulled taut, all night, would loosen it up a bit...
    Edit: Wait, no again. I thought they were pulling their skin taut and then sticking it in place like that, and expecting that to do something, but really they're just either placing it directly onto the skin with no skin-pulling, or when they do use their other hand, it seems to be to make sure the tape is on flat un-wrinkled skin, because a wrinkle being stuck in place under the tape isn't ideal.
    The yea it's just to physically prevent the skin from being able to crease (as much). At least usually just at night time.

    Hey Cassandra , this is unrelated ,but I have a doubt , I am extremely tanned , I am using alpha arbutin , kojic acid etc for fading it , I heard their results aren’t permanent , does that mean my tan is going to come back if I stop using them?

    • @akaneakane1969
      @akaneakane1969 11 місяців тому +1

      Your tan will always come back because the source of your tan is the sun, aka you won't get permanently paler skin unless you become a vampire 😅 I would say use more sun protection (sunscreen or spf clothing) if you want to get longer lasting results from your products.
      Source: I used to get a sunburn tan every summer before figuring out how to use vitamin c and sunscreen.

      @@akaneakane1969 hey so the thing is , when I was a kid ,I was really pale , but I had to drive to my college like 40 min everyday in direct sunlight at noon (35-40 C) and I didn’t use sunscreen back then , so there is so much sun damage , tan. Now I am using a great spf and other tyrosinase inhibitors and my doubt is ,if I stop using them and stick to sunscreen , would my tan come back?

    • @akaneakane1969
      @akaneakane1969 11 місяців тому

      @@mohith9502 If you're using a great spf and avoiding the sun, then your tan won't come back. But just speaking from my own experience, products can make my skin look paler than it naturally is, and that little bit of brightness or shine is what's temporary & will go away without the product. It may be different for your skin, and you may also tan much easier than you think, so I would say try pausing or swapping out your products for a couple days (except the spf) & take some pictures for comparison. If you don't notice a difference then congrats! Your spf is all you need to keep those results.
