    🩺 My AWESOME Dental Team 🩺
    I recommend every single one of these providers! Dr. Joshua Wohlgemuth and his staff (Oral Surgery Partners) are by far THE nicest healthcare professionals I have ever worked with! I have been in their consistent care for almost 2 full years now. In my current experience, they take cultural competency seriously and they make sure the patient understands every aspect of what is going to be done to them. Working with them certainly has put me at ease. They are also cost-efficient compared to other oral surgeons in LA!

    Hey I just recently ran into your videos because I have jaw surgery this month!! April 18th 2022 . Is there anything you recommend on me buying or what really helped you through recovery???

      Im going to make a video on all the things I purchased but watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/7O48-RrJqyw/v-deo.html
      I mention some of the things I bought. The NUMBER one thing you need to get is the Arm & Hammer Simple Saline nasal mist. That saved my life for sure. Get a jaw bra with with the gel packs. I had like 3 and im glad i did bc i always had something cold to swap out and if one broke I had the replacement already. Have clothes you dont care about or get a bib bc I was spilling food everywhere without feeling it. Ooooo, also get protein shakes. I opted for Soylent and Onyx to mix into my smoothies. Get children's liquid Tylenol. I used that instead of the medication they gave me once I was released from the hospital bc narcotics make me very nauseous. My cryosticks and ice roller also really helped me (lymphatic drainage) but that was just me being very extraaaa. Wish you a speedy recovery!

    Kyyah your teeth are aligned so perfectly and your swelling is going down so quickly and wonderfully I’m so happy for you! Only 3 more weeks until my surgery 😬 I’m most worried about the possibility of getting a splint! But soon I’ll be ordering all my gear such as condiment bottles and ice packs and am sooo ready to get a smile as good as yours now is!

      Awww thank you so much! My orthodontist and Surgeon truly did a phenomenal job. I am very pleased with my new bite! Don’t worry too much about the surgery. Try to only think positively! You will be fine 🤍✨. The splint really had me shook 😂 it’s harder to eat and you def can’t talk but it doesn’t stay on for long. Make sure you get plenty meal replacement shakes! Im looking forward to hearing more about your journey

    I also had jaw surgery but thankfully only the upper jaw. It is quite something right ? 😂 Ir was the hardest challenge ever in my life. I am now 40 and I had it last year in December. I also needed it since my teen years but I just wasn’t sure about it. I mean to be honest I am happy I waited because technology is so much further now but in the other side I think I would have recovered faster in my twenties but yeah that’s life. I also had no pain afterwards what so ever. It was more challenging mentally than physical. Seeing myself in the mirror after the operation I just wanted to cry but I couldn’t because you can hardly breath anyway. I must say that we are very strong 💪 for having endured this. I am very happy about the result but I couldn’t see myself doing it again. It is just too much to handle in the beginning and when you see other people eat you just wanna punch them 😂 no I am just joking but you know what I mean. Take care 🤗🤗🍀

    How long did it take for the swelling to go completely down?

    How do you find the right surgeon? What questions should ask them during consultation?

    • @kyyahabdularchives

      I did a lot of research but I started with my general dentist and he helped me build my team. When so first met with the surgeon i selected I asked what his proposed treatment plan would be. I liked that he didn’t rush to answer and said he would need to talk to my orthodontist and general dentist first before deciding the best course of action. All 4 doctors (in the description box) had a conference call to decide the best course of action. I also asked the surgeon about cost and it was VERY reasonable compared to Beverly Hills. The surgeon asked me a lot of questions actually which I liked. He asked why I wanted to do it. He asked where my head was mentally around my appearance. I think a doctor that takes time to understand a patient in the initial consult is going to be amazing throughout the journey. Pay attention to those little details and you’ll find a great doctor!! Also I asked question on how surgeries like that are generally performed and he gave me a run down of the surgery and what the next 1.5 years would like.

      @@kyyahabdularchives yeah I set up a consultation with a surgeon which my othordontist referred me to. I honestly kind of nervous I try to research on him but didnt get much about him espeacilly his expertise on jaw surgery. But I'm going to see what he has to offer. I think my biggest fear about this surgery is the nerves damage and also my appearance of course 😭. I really appreciate your vlogs because it really helps put things in perspective for me

      @@mynameisblossom2096 make sure you consult with like Atleast 2 surgeons so you have 2 opinions! And then you decide from there who you have a better connection with. Im glad the vlogs are helping you! You will like great after surgery! Yeaa nerve damage is scary. I still can’t feel my chin but the feel is coming back gradually. Nerve damage is always a possibility so picking the right surgeon with experience will be key.

    • @oscarthagrouch
      @oscarthagrouch 10 місяців тому

      yeah ofc but the first week can be rly hard bc you’re congested and your nose will be full of blood. it gets easier throughout the week. and you can still breath through your mouth if you open your lips
