He was so hurt at this time of his life.
His step mom that raised him with cus dmato cant remember her name, had died around this time
@Kevin Wheatley he was definetly on coke look at his face
You still got big problem if you have to fight him regardless. Even he loss he still gonna hurt you. Just 1 round with Iron Mike he gonna damage you unless you run. Lennox was a great fighter so he's an exception but even still Lennox had to avoid Mike for a while in that fight.
And scary, always looking dangerous as hell
DONG KING AND HIS EX WIFE FUCKED HIM UP TKO STYLE....THEN HIS TODDLER GOT STRANGLED IN A FREAK ACCIDENT AT HOME ON HIS TREADMILL
There will NEVER be an another like him. Ever.
We have Deontay Wilder.
Im joking
And for that I'm very grateful.
im coming soon....
yeah man fr.
There will never be another you, me, or anyone. People are unique...
You can see the pain and suffering in his eyes. He changed a lot
If somebody stamped on your testicles, this is the pain Mike feels waking up every day.
It’s so painful to see what happened to him. He’s a human being with feelings and emotions but the world made him a monster 😢
What was he suffering for!? He had a lot of fortune, power and women!?
Sympathy @@CocaineCowboyJones
@@born2win50 hell yeah people were using him for money and coming up with lies about him early in his career like his EX robin who used him for money and Don king who also scammed him out of a good amount of money
I feel like Mike would be a pretty gifted poet if he gave it go.
Hes starting to become like cus philosophy wise
He’s extremely articulate!
Poetry of anger; Reckless!
Thally thells thea thells on the thee thore?
Sorry, low hanging fruit I know.
THE GIFTED POET: But even then, I’d rather listen to Mike Tyson’s poetry than yours 😂👍
He was broken at this stage

DONG KING AND HIS EX WIFE FUCKED HIM UP TKO STYLE....THEN HIS TODDLER GOT STRANGLED IN A FREAK ACCIDENT AT HOME ON HIS TREADMILL, AND SOME CUNT CRIED RAPE AND HE GOT THE PEN OVER A BOGUS CHICK
That is a good way of putting it. This was not the same mindset he had pre prison. You can only be glad he is no longer in this same turmoil now, because watching this at the time, I felt he was heading for a bad place. Turns out Lewis beating the crap out of him saved him in some way, he fought bravely so earned a lot of credit and this seemed to pull him out of this paranoid hateful mess.
@@ritchski1 mike fucked lewis up ok..don king..robin givens..and the phony rape chick fuked him up
@@leelunk8235 Mike fucked up Lewis lmao?
I think if that reporter would of asked mike a wrong question mike would of killed him

Wow! Just wow. This was an absolute jem of an interview. Classic Mike Tyson diatribe against the world.

Jesus Christ . He was so intense back then . So much pressure and depression and anger , hate all in one
"To the people of this society that believe that I'm trash and I'm scum, I'll be trash and I'll be scum but I will be angelic trash and scum" Mike Tyson
unbelievable that ppl think this is same guy that won all these championships from 86-88.... this guy right here we wouldnt know about him if he started his career in this shape...
Tyson was over when cus died

Mike is absolutely terrifying, I'd be seriously nervous interviewing him.
Mike was really in a dark place within his life at this time. He fought Lewis purely for the money. Dude was in a very bad financial state as well. You can just see the pain within him. No way would Cus allow Mike to get away with this trash if Mike was young and Cus was alive. Thankfully Mike is in a much better place in his life now.
that's sad truth.
Tyson was overing gradually, little by little from 90's. growing, cumulating depression, frustration, anger, numerous human occupations, prison for "rape", wife-viper, cunning Teddy Atlas, crafty, despicable, perfidious, calculating Don King, drugs, alcohol. Mike was in no form, he was not capable of any fight with anyone, he admitted that he was fighting only for money to pay off debts. so often the best end up. sad, but true. I have a lot of respect for Mike.
@Jason Prendergast Nobody asked u to do shit man, feel sorry?? . U ever hear that man ask for pity? . Why the hell u so angry talking shit about another mans struggles? LOL. My bad tho, you might be perfect. Disregard
Tyson was promoting his fights. Yall eat right out of his hands. Controversy sells.
He was talking like he just wanted to cry, to put out all his pain... sad.
Those days was the darkest days of Tyson's life
💔💔💔💔
@Rx Dt We all know he was on coke professor, so what???
@Rx Dt Ahahah shut up little kid
@Rx Dt I said Mike was about to cry... go back to school and learn english, kid :D
Dark days of Mike tyson life
Much respect for living legend
The beauty of what he said is so amazingly eloquent. He was not only the greatest fighter in his prime, but one of the most well read and intelligent people to ever be on this planet. Behind the brutality and lisp is a philosopher. He should seriously write a book on just philosophy.
He said some very heavy things in this interview, that I, as a millennial, so-called African American male, I completely felt at my core.
There is this weird journey that is hardly ever spoken of, but felt by many, and Mike wore it in his sleeve at that time in life. He had the platform to speak on it, but he wasn't "Obama" enough for people to really get it.
That interviewer was watching his life flash before him with every question. To this day he swears he don't remember this interview.
😁
It’s amazing to see Mikes transformation. He was in his vicious persona at this time. Now, he is calm and present. He’s having an amazing second act.
DONG KING AND HIS EX WIFE ROBIN FUCKED HIM UP TKO STYLE....THEN HIS TODDLER GOT STRANGLED IN A FREAK ACCIDENT AT HOME ON HIS TREADMILL AND SOME CUNT CRIED RAPE AND HE GOT THE PEN OVER A BOGUS CHICK
lee lunk yes that is all true. He has really turned his life around these days with his Podcast and the Tyson Ranch and other projects he is participating in.
RYAN+ NO DOUBT HE'S INA BETTER PLACE MENTALLY THESE DAYS
lee lunk thats a fact. When he did the 5MEO-DMT in that Toad venom it seemed to have a pretty profound effect on him for the better.
I would have requested to conduct this interview behind bulletproof glass
if mike tyson wants to chew gum loudly, mike tyson can chew gum loudly
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
He’s actually chewing somebody ear
Mike Tyson is extremely nervous here. He kind of knew logically speaking that he had no real evidence to support his idea that he would beat Lewis. He hadn’t fought high caliber opponents, he wasn’t delivering such great performances, he kind of knew that his only real chance was a one punch knockout and that was never going to happen against someone so Wiley and prepared as Lewis.
There are people who share the same opinion as you that Mike fought weak men and relied solely on his power. That’s just completely wrong. There’s some truth to it when referring to him after jail, so I hope you mean this
@@Kevin-rj5zp yes I'm referring to his his post Holyfield fights. I'm a big Tyson fan and felt that he was a great champion at his peak but from 98 onwards he was fighting lower caliber opposition that in no way prepared him for the task of facing Lewis who was at the top of his game.
Agreed tyson tried to get a fight w chris byrd but he ducked him and mercer also turned down a fight w him to tyson said himself he needed 3 more fights
@@Kevin-rj5zp yes I'm specifically referring to the fighters he faced in the 2 or 3 years prior to this fight.
@C14YT0N LNWF I agree he didn't turn up in great shape but I think he would have lost anyway. Lewis was in great shape at the time and confident in his performances. Tyson although he was knocking out people, whenever the reporters asked him about Lewis he kept saying "I need a couple more fights then I'll be ready..". When the time came he needed the money and took the fight but couldn't control his personal demons and got the spanking of his life from Lewis.
No Mike was in his crazy mind here...he wasn't going to beat anybody when he's like this..love Tyson and I think he's the greatest ,but Tyson's mind is what defeated him
The greatest? 🤡
You're right,
Tyson said that its just hype to bring up ticket sales and the 2 fighters will be able to make sure they can get paid
That valhalla speech went really hard
Good footage
Cheers buddy you too!!
THIS MAN IS REALLY WORTH OF LISTENING EVERY SECOND!!!
@@scott1713 I could listen to him everyday he’s so funny
The meanest heavyweight of all time
No doubt
Alias Zazai only 2 jears
Ha ha
Alias Zazai the greatest fool
Some will say Sonny Liston but this psycho version of Tyson i wouldn't wanna be around
Pure anger So many versions of Mike bro absolute legend
You can hear the fire and hunger in his voice. On a mission to destroy whatever stands in front of him.
He bit off more then he can chew you can’t be away for 2 or 3 years and come back fight the best heavyweight in the world . Don’t work like that
Excellent quality video
Thank you kindly
Mike was in a dark place during this interview. Glad he is in a better place now.
don't celebrate this version of Tyson. I been a fan of his for as long as I remember but this is Tyson in turmoil, he wasn't beating any decent boxer in this mind set. he wasn't he same fighter. This was a pure attempt at intimidation that didn't work. So the "yeah Mike" is blind fans that don't know what they are talking about. Tyson post prison was a mess, a con man.
You are right until you reach the "con man" part.
Mike Tyson is many things but he ain't not con man.Through his life as he went through different phases it was reflected. And at this stage he was what he showed in these interviews, unhinged, not focused.
Folks are quick to judge,Tyson was a product of an environment as many are.
In terms of his place in boxing immortality it was already set by the time he was 20.
Anyone who does not understand human behaviour or has not been through a traumatic childhood won't relate
Tariq Timol he said it himself, he fought to pay the bills. I don’t see it as a mark on his mentality, but his post fight career was a con, he lived off his name and he knew the value of it. Maybe up to Holyfield 1 he was giving it a proper go, but after he was banned he knew it was over
@@ritchski1 I agree with you completly, his window of peak was long gone, went up in smoke when he left his initial handlers and Rooney.
I just feel the word "Con" is intentional.
I don't think it was,his entire identity was wrapped up in been a fighter.Like you said,he knew it was over at the elite level but the world still viewed him as the returning champ who was going to take his place at the top.
It was inevitable that he was going to have to go through the paces so to speak.
I don't think anyone with the money at stake, would have walked away.
Tariq Timol that’s a fair point, I don’t think he intended it to go that way, but like you say, when people are throwing that amount of money at you, difficult to refuse. His honesty after Mcbride showed his real feelings. The worst loss for me was Danny Williams, Tyson actually seemed mentally right for that and trained hard with Freddie roach, but his body failed him. I found that hard to watch, his face just showed the realisation of how ever much he tried, it was gone.
@@ritchski1 agreed,I just don't know what to make of his career.
Like you I'm a massive fan but when you assess his record he essentially through away 13 years of his career,he won just 11 fights in 13 years. That is really poor. Also apart from 2 Ruddock bouts never dealt with adversity in the ring well,so l felt let down and maybe in a way you right we were conned into buying the hype.
What I do know is that for a brief period (86:88) he was and remains the most exciting fighter the world has seen.
And during that period of 2 years I think apart from a peak Ali he was the greatest heavyweight in history.
On those final contest, yea like with Ali v Holmes it was painful to watch a guy like Mike been manhandled by a pub fighter
Just my opinion
BEST INTERVIEWER period!! One of a kind
He was feeling the pressure of the fight .. plus he was so hurt broken in every way he came along way man .. god bless Mike 🙏
“I been to valhalla” 🔥
Mike was never able-and still isnt able-to be anything less than the most memorable boxer and sports personality ever in my book.
He was dark at this point but guess what-he has so walked in the light since then and it just gets better and better for todays' Mr Mike Tyson-total legend.
He was in not fit shape to fight (mentally).
ARE YOU CRAZY, YOU HAVE TO BE LIKE THIS MENTALLY IN ORDER TO COME OUT ON TOP NOT FEARING NO ONE, IT'S OBVIOUS YOU ARE A MORON WITH THIS COMMENT....HE BOXES HEAVYWEIGHTS FOR A LIVING YOU DUMB AS S
If you know anything about Tyson he did he always had fear when he went in the ring!! And mentally he wasn’t right at this stage he had a coke problem and had just got out of jail for a rape charge so ease up dickhead @lee lunk
Physically he wasn't either, he looked soft and was 235 lbs for this fight.
El Chapo he hadn’t just got out of jail.
@@leelunk8235 awww did I upset you.......never mind....
So happy Mike is in a better place today 🙏
2:28 thanos stealing mike lines
He was 10 years past it at this stage and 13 years past his prime and best days.
For him to speak with such eloquence during this time shows much about his spirit.
This is marvelous
At this stage he knew that his shield of boxing to release his anger was loosening and the fear he had of facing his problems was clear to see...anazing to see him living his best life these days!!
This Tyson was simply in promoting the fight, he never spoke this way as champion as he respected the title.
Period!
Signs stop bitching and sit yo ass down. Punk
It's annoying cause I haven't watched all his fights and even I can recall the same anticts when he was champion." I'm gonna eat his children, is one" "I'm gonna eat his heart" "I put people in body bag for living " is another. " I'm Alexander the great" was good one. Obviously I'm not saying anything negative, I'm just saying this was just his normal behavior, do your research
No that's not true, listen to Mike's interviews and Hotboxin. He admits he was in a bad place, he admits he was a nasty person and screwed up. But its great to see the happy guy today
@@redstaplerguyforlifepastpr5763 maybe you should do your research, this was not his normal behaviour every single quote you posted was after prison. Show me when he acted like that during the 80s
I will be an immortal top of the top there will be none better they will talk about me from now to embecera I am the greatest ever and always be the greatest eva,
Mike Tyson
Classic Iron Mike!

@@LUKERs1196 nah you are just brainwashed by all the bullshit that you hear.
You can feel this man's sheer terror increasing with every question. Each time the pause gets longer in between 😂
Pure intensity.
There's a lot of pain and hurt in that voice
The anger was tangible but that is one of the facets that captured the audience.
“They’ll tremble in their fuckin’ bones.”
I was just watching beatboxing Mike Tyson and he said he’s scared of Iron Mike coming out. No wonder he doesn’t want his ego back.
He’s having an exhibition so I’m glad if this Mike comes back
That lookdown at 0:39 he knew he was about to say something he does not believe he will achieve
This was so sad to see.
Mike Tyson taught the world how to pound a face of a 6'4 dude
Mike Tyson is the most talked about fighter ever... He is interesting I think his personality stands out...well most fighters lack personality
This is the same Mike Tyson from 86, but now he is vocal about all the things Cus taught him to keep in his head. In this version Mike forced on his red button and never turned it off.
Tyson came a very long way as first a MAN. Now I really respect Him. Now hes Great. Dude that was interviewing him was scared to death. You could hear the fear in his voice. Hie questions to Tyson were "very slowly asked".
Mike was lost his mind was all messed up, back in the day.
A man who is still introspective in his most hurt/vulnerable state is dangerous in the long term
I’ve been to Valhalla
Warlord!
MrSmurf459 that was some deeeeep shit👀
Explain that please
Javante Davis google it douche bag. Better yet- read a book
Justin Uptmor hahh
This was a hugely promoted fight. Sadly, it needed to happen a few years sooner
Mike was trying to convince himself more than anybody with the words he was speaking here. I knew my idol was going to take a beating at the hands of Lewis. Was heartbreaking for me to see him like this.
People praised his antics & all of the anger & cockiness failed to realize this Mike right here was trying to convince himself more than anyone else...No need to talk about what he could've been or whatever it is what it is ...I remember making a lot of money 💰 betting on this fight with Lennox...I was the only one in the building that thought Lewis would win & as soon as Mike loss it was the same (If Mike was in his prime talk)witch is completely irrelevant when you get in there especially fighting in the main event for the championship you have to be ready....Mike was still a multi time champion & had a huge impact but Mike seems really happy now vs back then & it's cool to see that instead of old & bitter...Mike speaks with a lot more wisdom now...✌
This Tyson was intense
One of the best explosive fighters ever! Explosive in the ring and explosive personality at his peak truly unbelievable 💯.
u are the best bro
My phukkking hero!!!! As a man he deeply knew he didn't have it anymore but aggression made him think that he was 88 Mike
He was emotionally & physically way past his peak years. I think he knew that & the big talk was him trying to gee himself up as he didn’t love fighting anymore I don’t think he wanted to be In The ring from 96 to the end. Despite only a year beaten them Lennox was in his peak best years and still the champ. Tyson was far removed from his. He was damaged, angry, drugged up & 2 stone heavier than in his prime which was 2 stone slower. Lennox deserved the win but it was a shadow of mike Tyson.
After the infamous conference I believe Lewis camp asked for mike to see psych doctor n he was on psych meds the night of the fight hence the calm interview fight night n before warming up to go in n fight. That’s why Emmanuel Stewart was urging Lewis to put out tyson asap before the meds effects could run out n tyson turn it up. Can some. Tyson insider she’d light on this.
at 2:10 what does imbiquida mean? does anyone know? I dont know if i spelled it right.
I think he meant to say 'antiquity'.
I think this is mike alter-ego speaking.. - the god of war (kratos)
He's still chewing hollyfield's ear damn
I can feel his pain and anger ,
Meditation is everyones friend
It sounded like he was on the verge of tears for the entire interview.
I love tyson man
Mike was the GOAT in his very short prime
Too much had happened and Lewis at this time was the best of his generation......however pre-prison Tyson IMO was the best I've ever seen and seen nothing since that good. The GOAT in my opinion
Earlier than pre-prison. After the spinks fight his boxing already declined. He left his trainer Kevin Rooney and was busy partying.
It's weird seeing this. It's watching a dude that's barely held together. Back when Mike thought that he could just scare the world into loving him.
Damn!! He looks so MEAN here!! He looks like a teddy bear now compared to here!! Still wouldn't want to mess with him tho!!
Straight killer!!!! 💪💪
Mike Tyson is a god!
Tyson king of boxing
That noise of tyson chewing that bloody gum did my head right in
One could say Mike was all hot air.....
Words are cheap. Tyson was in self promotion I'm a wild animal mode here. Fight night came and then what?? Annihilation. Completely and utterly out thought, out fought, out sized, out skilled by a superior and supremely gifted Lennox Lewis. A total beat down. Who can forget Tyson squealing in pain between rounds as he suffered a severe beat down Chronic indigestion from eating so many Lewis jabs😂😂😂
So what? Tyson will be remembered forever
Mike - I broke my back
Interviewer - Did you break a vertebrae?
Mike - Spinal
And now...
Mike - They'll talk about me from here to embiquitor, I'll always be the greatest ever.
Interviewer - But tactically how will you win thus fight?
Mike - Victorious
2:09 What is mike talking about when he says "They'll talk about me from now to ____". I've watched this multiple times and I'm just not exactly sure what he says here.
I’ve also been trying to figure that out. Embiquita ? Who knows
I think he's referring to "ambiguita." I think that's an Italian word for ambiguity. One definition can mean something like, "uncountable."
Maybe he means from now until uncountable years from now...who knows tho
@@7CFlo Solid answer. And, seriously, thank you for taking the time to reply to this.
You can hear the anger in his breathing
I have to be the beast i have to be the savage
1:10 ... Did Tyson just make an X-Men reference?? Probably not. Just serendipity.
Lewis' right hand changed this man's life. Lewis saved him with a one hitter quitter. Literally, set this crazy talk straight. Thank you Lewis for saving Mike. He needed a nap.
Top tier Tyson 💪
The men from no where ( Mr. Mike Tyson)

Iron Mike!
This is one of the last interviews we'd see of Mike before he got his face tattoo.
A natural entertainer
Those damn eyes.
I just wonder, if Mike won against Lewis, would he still go all out and explode like this, or he would smack (or try to smack) his ego like he did after the loss.
This was Tyson at his darkest point
An interview with a destroyed mike tyson. Thank you I haven't seen this one
Mike's social skills were notably absent back in those days.Of course it was all just an act to instill a fearsome aura.
