hey, Awesome vid, well explained but i have an issue. when i want to select my drivers i only get 3 choices: - xbox 360 controller for windows - xbox 360 wireless controller via play & charge kit - xbox 360 wireless receiver for windows I tried all of em but they didn't work. Any idea how to get the proper drivers?
I figured it out 1. Choose the Wireless receiver one 2. Make sure the green light is on the receiver. 3. Press the Wireless button on the front of the controller while simultaneously pressing the button the receiver. 4. Then press the xbox button (Thats what i did and now it works everytime)

However, if you're running anything before that, or even if it's a pirated version of windows 10 (considering it's so easy to do right now) you'll need to download the drivers manually. Definitely go over to the Microsoft store and download the drivers for free and the steps should be just about the same as this video

Hi so i have tried this but for some reason it says its installed but when i click close it just goes back to being an "Unknown device" can anyone help with this.
I did a clean windows 10 instal and it didn't show the list of drivers. For others that got the same problem, here is the solution: -go to www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/xbox-360-wireless-controller-for-windows -download the windows 7 driver (32 or 64 bit, whatever you got) -install it -now follow the video on how to continue

I only have three drivers there showing up and only one of them is called wireless receiver and it doesn't work even tho it says succesfully updated driver
August 2020 tested and works! You May (like me) only see 3 options, wireless controller, wireless charge and wireless receiver without any date. Just select wireless receiver. Thanks Man you are a hero
Dude. It actually worked. Quick note, I didn't have the different drivers from different years, so I just selected the generic "Windows Reciever" and it worked all the same.

I figured it out

I Changed USB Port and it fixed that problem. Try every port.

My les paul guitar did not work prior to this, it instantly picked up after the drivers downloaded so Thank you!
