Since I seem to be getting a lot of comments on this, I feel I should elaborate. When I said that Eda may look for a way to separate herself from the curse, I am not implying that’s the better way for Eda’s arc regarding her curse to go. I even say it may not be possible in my video. But, since Eda learned more about the Owl Beast’s backstory, I thought it might be an interesting endeavor for her. I understand the metaphor of Eda’s curse as an illness/disability and was not trying to imply that Eda can just separate herself from something that has that kind of correlation. It was just something I thought Eda may consider. If Eda doesn’t separate herself and the Owl Beast or find a “cure”, but is at peace with herself going forward, I think that would be a wonderful and nuanced conclusion. Just wanted to clarify so people don’t misinterpret what I said in the video!
I think it would be really nice to see more her progress in interaction with the curse (beast) like we saw in this episode. It could be a really good representation of how things can be better with mental and physical illnesses. I don't think it'll disappear since is now a part of her but they can find ways to make it work, like on real life.
I'm glad it was revealed that the Curse isn't just a Mindless Beast, but actually has its own thoughts and emotions. And just like Eda The Owl Beast doesn't want to be stuck with her, it wants to be free which honestly surprised me...
its also explained why eda remembers lilith curse her in her sleep despite of not supposed to remember this because of her sleep. but this ep explained that its not her memory its the owl beast memorys.
But here is the interesting bit, where does the curse magic come in. What if the curse is not what is causing Eda to lose her magic. If the owl beast and Eda are on slighlty better terms you would assume she would have some use of her magic especially if it is in terms of survival but she still cant use any. What if Belos or actually just being covenant less is the cause of her magic status. Just speculation
@@crosshant4596 I've actually had similar thoughts about the curse and its relation to her magic- it looks to me like the reason the curse was draining her magic is because she was fighting against it, and it took a lot of her power to do so. Now that she's trying to work with it instead of against it, perhaps she'll be able to more productively use that energy again, e.g. cast magic. The elixir seems to mostly just give her more magic energy to work with, altogether? If my theory is correct, I'm also interested to see what the owl-beast can do with the elixir's assistance. As to your speculation about Belos or the coven system being somehow responsible, I don't think this is the case. We know that it is in fact the coven system, and more particularly the tattoos, that prevents the use of magic not in line with the coven's, so Eda not being bound by that system is in fact quite the opposite of an explanation for her power being unusable. The effects of the curse on her powers also predate her capture by Belos, which makes his direct interference unlikely.
I really hope that Eda doesn’t just “get rid of” her curse because it really seems to be portrayed in the show as some mental/chronic illness, and there’s way too many misconceptions that there’s a definite cure for those things. It would be nice to see her accept the curse and live in tandem with the owl beast, like many people do with their chronic/mental illnesses
It's interesting how Eda's views on the curse have evolved in the show. Originally, she viewed the Owl Beast as a burden and something weighing her down. In this episode, Eda reconciles with the Owl Beast and learns to coexist with it. In "Eclipse Lake", Eda treats the Owl Beast as a super power or a weapon instead of recognizing it as a living sentient being co-piloting her psyche.
Totally agree on how The Owl House writes their adult characters, it's usually saved for the younger characters in shows i've watched, but seeing Eda is a breath of fresh air indeed
I think eda's new form does have positives 1 she can definitely fight off the emperors coven soilders 2 she appears to have more control of the owl beast 3 she looks fabulous in that form
The scene with Eda and Raine gives me flashbacks. I suffered from trauma and mental health and people who said they want to help me and I always tell them I'm fine and it made my recent partner break up with me. I finally opened up to them later but I still need to accept that I'm not a burden to them and they just want to help me.
If he became more not necessarily have got know love and hugs Linda is going know love me bye for video started go go go know know just how are good too to the only have done
I like that eda still has to make bargains with the owl beast even after making peace with it, it shows eda will always be losing to the beast and just buying herself time instead of curing herself
The Chinese proverb about the red thread connecting people destined to meet also states that no matter how hard it is stretched or tangled, it can not be broken. Eda may come to terms with the beast, but it is part of her life forever
Eda is definitely gonna need to accept any risks that she makes when making a deal with the owl beast, when looking at the Eclipse Lake episode. I’m hoping Eda will be strong enough to take on Belos and free Raine. Also, I love Harpy Eda’s design. Props to whoever designed Harpy Eda to look so great
I really relate to Eda. I see her curse as a representation of mental disorders/illnesses and I have anxiety so I can see myself in how she deals with it. I also heavily relate to the situation with her mom, mainly her mom not being able to accept her curse is a part of Eda. The scene with Eda vibing with the owl beast, feeding it elixir almost made me cry actually cause it was beautiful seeing Eda come to terms with that herself. She still wants to get rid of the curse but knows she won’t in the near future,so she deals with it and even gets a cool new harpy form(That got deeper then intended)
The owl house is just absolutely phenomenal and I’ve never seen a cartoon I can relate to more in so many ways. Being bisexual myself, being disabled as well, it’s just a masterpiece that I can’t help but relate to wholeheartedly and I’m so thankful for it existing and everyone like yourself who makes content based around it (among other things)
Honestly Eda has helped me so much deal with my own mental health, I can't even- I'm probably not the first one saying that I can slightly identify with Eda with my mental health, but just like her, I'm currently learning how to manage it and live with it. Eda really shows that you are never old enough for taking the right steps. Man, such an amazing show.
Eda is such an amazing written character and I'm very hyped to see more of her in the future, especially her harpy form! Also I bet that Eda is the one who will or at least have a major role in saving Raine, because whether they end up together again or not, theres definitely still a strong bond between them!
Honestly, Eda's relationship with her curse, and the way that's evolved over time, kind of reminds me of my own relationship with... whatever it is that's going on with my mental health (I don't know what it *is* but it's definitely *something*).
I hope you'll find out, it help so much to know. (I know how it can be, I'm still discovering about myself rn) More you know about yourself, more you accept yourself, more you are at peace and happy. Don't forget to smile over one thing per day, eat a fruit, drink water, take some fresh air and sleep enough. I wish you happiness.
Great video! I’m happy that Eda accepted the curse! I know a lot of people have associated the curse with mental illness and ADHD, so to see this on TV is kinda a huge inspiration for people suffering from those conditions!
The links to mental and physical health to edas curse is wild Its so vauge that you can connect it to so much. Personally I can connect my bpd autism and fibro to it but kkkohd made me see even things like DID could be linked to it too Its amazing bc it sends such a good message to such a wide variety of people
I love how Cute the baby Owl Beast looked, but I can’t wait to see more of Eda’s curse and see more of the relationship/problem between Eda and the Owl Beast progresses.
It's awesome how Eda has progressed at her own time. I mean, when she was younger she expected a cure for her curse and she make it seem like she was "fine" when she was not (which is a perfect representation of illness). But now she's accepting she'll have to live with the curse all her life, and she's making a better way to deal with the beast. And I love it so much, her progress even if it's when she's an adult it's not "late" it's in perfect timing
I find it interesting the crack on the portal eye was always there since Eda found it. It implies it was involved in a conflict, possibly one or both of the Wittebanes (assuming one or both of them are involved in creating it).
I hope she doesn’t try sever the owlbesst from her but continues working with it. Like on one end the owl beast should be free but on the end I love the symbolism of her and it
Theory idea: What could have caused the Titan's death 1. could possibly be that the titan died from old age or a war or an unknown entity or the other titan like creatures killed him

It's reassuring to see I wasn't just "stretching it" when I thought Eda's curse was a representation of mental illness, and that other people felt that too. Dealing with it myself, I remember crying a lot watching that episode. I hope one day I get to progress like Eda
gwen’s comment about “cut [the curse] out if you have to” in eda’s flashback hits different knowing that the “curse” is really an innocent creature with no more control over the situation than eda has
I feel like when we see the collector again she will tell eda that they can separate them from the owl beast and the moment it happens the collector will take back the owl beast and eda will feel sympathy for the beast and try to save it
I can feel the owl beast can allow eda to use her harpy form in exchange for eda to do something in return like back in eclips lake to make holes for a reason
I feel that if Eda and the owl Beast part ways in which Eda is no longer cursed Dana and the crew need to write it in such away that the end result is not interfered as you can have an illness and you can heal from the illness and be 100% whole again, it undermined the message of this episode in which a person and their faults whether it be physical or mental need to come to terms with their strengths and weaknesses and accept themselves knowing that the illness will not leave them. Though narratively it would be nice to see the owl Beast re-exist but at the end of the day the owl Beast is not a curse but still a part of Eda in some form and fashion.
I like to think of Eda’s curse as a metaphor for mental illness, and the elixir being medication. Her mom trying to “cure” the curse seemed very familiar to me with my mom trying to “fix” my anxiety. Also, similar to how medications don’t fix a mental illness, the elixir acts the same way for Eda’s curse.
Knock knock knocking was the bomb none of us was ready to really process. As I see it, most of the plots of season 2 part A were resolved in this single episode: Lumity (episodes 2 and 5), Eda's curse (episode 4 and a bit in episode 7) and King's origin (episode 3 and a bit in episode 7). I'd love to see a video about King and/or all the lore we learned so far. For what I caught, the demons of the 3 Bs are demons who rose from the Titan. But King isn't part of the 3 Bs, and the paintings of his castle may point to his kind fighting a titan in some point. So, what's with that?
So, now that is revealed that the curse was created by turning an actual Owl Beast into the curse scroll and it's essentially a tug-of-war for bodily control, but... what of Lilith's curse? Lilith shared the curse with Eda and now she has her own form, which has a much different appearance. So, did they Owl Beast split it's own personality and memories into another one of itself which now resided in Lilith, or does she have her own Beast demon to deal with? If so, how did Lilith receive this new Beast? And, if not, would separating each Lilith and Eda's Owl Beast from them generate two Beasts? I'd love to hear your theory on this, or anyone else's. Great videos!
Theory idea: there were other titan like creatures in the demon realm. Reason: In episode 8 Eda saw the dream of the owl beast where it was haunted by the collector. In the background we saw another skull that didn't look like the Titan's. So this proves that there were other titan like creatures in the demon realm before witches and demon appear.
The Unauthorized History of the Boiling Isles which King was reading from at the beginning of Young Blood, Old Souls mentions that several Titans remains are scattered throughout the Boiling Sea. It just so happens the Boiling Isles titan is the most complete and seemingly the only populated one (we don't know if the Owl Beast and the Collector lived on that titan or if the owl beast fled to the other titan trying to escape the Collector and the Collector followed it there) that they know of.
@@termitesc.aardwolf3644 I do too. My biggest complaint during Season 1 was that it focused too much on Hexside and Luz’s friends there, but not enough on Luz, Eda, and King- the heart of the story, and more compelling characters most of the time. And now Season 2 gave me exactly what I wanted from Season 1, and I miss Hexside and having it gone feels jarring.
I really hope Eda and the owl beast don't separate at all. It's such an incredibly rare good display of plurality, especially considering the owl beast doesn't even talk as far as we know.
@@gracekim1998 Plurality is the state of two or more individuals sharing a single mind and body. Plurality encompasses dissociative disorders like DID and OSDD as well as other forms like tulpamancy. It's a very not widely recognized field and many people make media portraying it accidentally
I wonder if the beast seen in this ep is even less sentient than it originally was, since it's split between both Clawthornes--how wild is that, to lose your body, be trapped with another consciousness, and then split in half with yet another one 30 years later?
Do you think Eda "separating from the Owl Beast" would hurt the show's commentary on chronic illness? I don't see them "curing" Eda personally, specially not after her Harpy form was introduced. I think that's here to stay.
Something that I realized that is interesting with the owl beast. In agony of a witch when Eda becomes the owl beast and Lilith ties the ropes around her you know understand why Eda as the owl beast had that reaction of not wanting to be tied up given what we see with the collector
I’m hoping Eda cures her curse and frees the owl beast near the end of the season Additionally I hope Eda will still transform into harpy mode after she’s cured
I don't think they would have her still transform after she and the Owl Beast separate- it wouldn't really make sense. The harpy form is a combination of Eda and the Owl Beast working together, so if they were separate they couldn't really do that.
Wait... What about Lilith? They share the curse now so does that mean owl beast got divided to two? The Owl is living being after all how does it affected them? A
The curse has ceased to be a straight, one-to-one allegory for chronic illness and disability, and has become its own lore. But I'm still satisfied with how they managed to use it as an allegory for chronic illness and disability. The message has been sent. They can move on. And I am very curious as to where this curse actually came from, and now I'm hoping more for the owl beast's liberation than I am for a cure for Eda. Or for a perfect synchronization between the two that she can then teach to Lilith.
I'll be very interested to see if Lilith can do something similar, because if thats the case would that mean that Lilith essentially cloned the owl beast when she did her shared pain spell
Lilith's going to be challenge when it comes to her own part of the curse... but as usual for the Clawthornes, they'll adapt and survive. Oh, and what type of merch is there in the MS?
I have a potential theory for "The Owl House," could Luz (and humans in general) possibly be something of an amplifier for magic cast by witches? The reason I bring this up is because some of the most impressive feats (outside of Eda's) were performed with Luz either being directly involved or in close proximity to the spell being cast. Do you find this theory plausible or am I just finding something where there is nothing?
I think her arc will revolve around recognizing that the Owl Beast is not just a power or a weapon she can call upon, but a living sentient being in her psyche. A co-pilot, almost.
For me it's not Eda(and Lilith) getting rid of the curse by the end of the series but regaining some of her magic once she and the Owl-beast work things out more. Like Naruto did with Kurama aka the nine tailed fox in "Naruto"
I noticed something during the show, when she wanted to turn into her new form for the first time needed, she couldnt. She had to promise something to owl beast and im pretty interested what exactly.
It wanted Eda to eat some voles. That’s why at the end of Eclipse Lake when Eda, King, and Amity return home Eda says “I had to keep up my end of the bargain”.
Amphibia season 1-2 episode 16B & 4A this strange-looking biped and her little pink boyfriend? Whoa! Not my boyfriend So do you have a boyfriend back home? Now that you guys are back, we can talk about Anne's boyfriend again season 3 boyfriend TBA
I really can't believe there are still so Many detractors for the show. Even with all the big guns it dropped, there are still people who are boycotting the show...
it might be me, but i think of this show as not being for kids. I think that in fact it is for parents . Parables for Parenting i think would be the genre .
The only thing still confusing me is, if the owl beast is just a regular beast demon what happened to it when the curse was split between Eda and Lilith? Was it split in half or are there now two identical owl beasts?
What I'm curious about is Lilith...did the Owl Beast *duplicate* when she shared the curse? Assuming the curse is removed on both, do we now have two Owl Beasts? Or is the Beast the same one across both of them, which would give it a split viewpoint at times.
Since I seem to be getting a lot of comments on this, I feel I should elaborate. I'd love to see a video about King and/or all the lore we learned so far. For what I caught, the demons of the 3 Bs are demons who rose from the Titan. But King isn't part of the 3 Bs, and the paintings of his castle may point to his kind fighting a titan in some point. So, what's with that?
I wonder if we will see Luz's father be shown in an episode?
An off-topic theory:
I have a strong feeling that Belos is keeping Raine at a very special place (perhaps somewhere inside the emperor's castle)
Great video very descriptive analytical and clear.
My thoughts exactly!
0:35: Hey, don't ju... OK, fine, judge, but not too much.
8:00: ...Yeah, isn't that color the very one used by King Andrias' lightsaber?
This was a super cool video thanks :D
Nice nice good observation
*Yes,* Principal Bump made mistakes, accepted that he was wrong, and changed his mind. I want an episode about him in Season 2B!
I want another Willow episode.
This video is so well-done
I really hope Eda and the owl beast don't separate at all. It's such an incredibly rare good display of plurality, especially considering the owl beast doesn't even talk as far as we know.
@jf k I dont think it feels trapped anymore now that it's forming a good relationship with Eda
I don’t get it😅
@@gracekim1998 Plurality is the state of two or more individuals sharing a single mind and body. Plurality encompasses dissociative disorders like DID and OSDD as well as other forms like tulpamancy. It's a very not widely recognized field and many people make media portraying it accidentally

Baby owl: I'm just gonna be in Eda's lap
Eda: if you're going to be in my lap I might as well pet you
I wonder if the beast seen in this ep is even less sentient than it originally was, since it's split between both Clawthornes--how wild is that, to lose your body, be trapped with another consciousness, and then split in half with yet another one 30 years later?
Do you think Eda "separating from the Owl Beast" would hurt the show's commentary on chronic illness?
I don't see them "curing" Eda personally, specially not after her Harpy form was introduced. I think that's here to stay.
Can you do a video about the first three episodes of s2B after their titles are revealed
It almost looks like the Owl is just as cursed as Eda and may be imprisoned in her mind.
Something that I realized that is interesting with the owl beast. In agony of a witch when Eda becomes the owl beast and Lilith ties the ropes around her you know understand why Eda as the owl beast had that reaction of not wanting to be tied up given what we see with the collector
Smol owl beast's face gives me grumpy cat vibes.
Just realized that the episode's title is a nod to the song named "Knock, knock, knockin on heaven's door."
Who needs sleep when you can watch Videos about this awesome Show
I’m hoping Eda cures her curse and frees the owl beast near the end of the season
Additionally I hope Eda will still transform into harpy mode after she’s cured
I don't think they would have her still transform after she and the Owl Beast separate- it wouldn't really make sense. The harpy form is a combination of Eda and the Owl Beast working together, so if they were separate they couldn't really do that.
@@laughsingay Oh yeah do it she does look cool in that form
We need more of the mysterious Obviuoso!
I love those videos
Wait... What about Lilith? They share the curse now so does that mean owl beast got divided to two? The Owl is living being after all how does it affected them?
A
I commented something similar but I agree with your theory
Every realized the Collector's moon mask is the same as Amity's necklace
The curse has ceased to be a straight, one-to-one allegory for chronic illness and disability, and has become its own lore. But I'm still satisfied with how they managed to use it as an allegory for chronic illness and disability. The message has been sent. They can move on. And I am very curious as to where this curse actually came from, and now I'm hoping more for the owl beast's liberation than I am for a cure for Eda. Or for a perfect synchronization between the two that she can then teach to Lilith.
Could you do a video on the voice in the in-between?
At least the hiatus will give UA-camrs time to catch up their Owl House Theories.
I'll be very interested to see if Lilith can do something similar, because if thats the case would that mean that Lilith essentially cloned the owl beast when she did her shared pain spell
But, Lilith also transformed into a another beast. So where did it come from?
I wonder how the curse that Lilith has works did I will be splits did half its power separate will we ever get a harpy lilth
Amity development pls!!
Already a video on that🙌🙌
I hope that we will see Lilith go through something similar as Eda and Lilith share the curse together
I hear the collector’s is connective to the Blight family
the collector sounded like a demented luz to me.
I'm really curious what they will do with eda's curse and if it will become controllable or something else.
Lol i'm 10th
I think her arc will revolve around recognizing that the Owl Beast is not just a power or a weapon she can call upon, but a living sentient being in her psyche. A co-pilot, almost.
@@justinriley Maybe we'll learn more about how beasts are turned into curses and about that weird figure shown in the dream.
HOLY 3 MINUTES
Harpie Lilith?(Harpie LuLu)?
@@ItsRebeccaRose Oh okay thank you!
nice
I would be curious if lilith would have a beastform just like eda does?
Amphibia season 1-2 episode 16B & 4A
this strange-looking biped and her little pink boyfriend?
Whoa! Not my boyfriend
So do you have a boyfriend back home?
Now that you guys are back, we can talk about Anne's boyfriend again
season 3 boyfriend TBA
Mate it was a joke, let it go
I really can't believe there are still so Many detractors for the show. Even with all the big guns it dropped, there are still people who are boycotting the show...
it might be me, but i think of this show as not being for kids. I think that in fact it is for parents . Parables for Parenting i think would be the genre .
Hey so Eda’s life has improved a lot and what if she and raine settle their differences and get together and then dies
Something i kinda want to learn from future episodes is what is hooty? Did eda make the house or did she kinda find it and remodeled it.
The only thing still confusing me is, if the owl beast is just a regular beast demon what happened to it when the curse was split between Eda and Lilith? Was it split in half or are there now two identical owl beasts?
Great question
What I'm curious about is Lilith...did the Owl Beast *duplicate* when she shared the curse? Assuming the curse is removed on both, do we now have two Owl Beasts? Or is the Beast the same one across both of them, which would give it a split viewpoint at times.
