Since I was about 5 years old, my biggest dream was to fly a P51. Used to watch "12:00 HIGH" - loved the B17's, but boy, look at those guys whistling by in the P51's. When I turned 50, my awesome wife had a surprise trip for me - to Stallion 51 to fly "Crazy Horse". Still get goose bumps remembering it. Now, my biggest dream - to fly a P51 again.....
You DO get to fly it. It's a dual control TF-51 not a P-51 with a back seat added where the fuselage tank used to be. 12 P-51D's were modified to dual control trainers at the end of WW2, "Crazy Horse" and "Crazy Horse 2" are two of them. If you take a flight you are in control for 90% of the flight. I go on my ride in July 2012.
