- #philippines President Ferdinand #Marcos Jr. said the threat to his nation from #China’s sweeping claims in the South China Sea is growing but argued that his government’s efforts to assert sovereignty over disputed areas aren’t meant to start a conflict by “poking the bear.”
“We are trying to keep things on an even keel,” Marcos said Tuesday in an interview with #Bloomberg Television’s Haslinda Amin at the presidential palace in Manila. The challenge, he added, is that “since the threat has grown, we must do more to defend our territory.”

The day and after the diplomatic talks concluded, they instantly getting more aggressive than before.
And the last time they made an agreeement, Chinese Embassy in Manila spout some lies again that we agreed to consent China first for the resupply missions even though the Philippines already said before that talks happen that we will never agree to that kind of system

- parts of it belong to some ASEAN countries including tje Philippines 🇵🇭,
- the rest of it is the international water,

As one Professor of Law commented the entire territorial sovereignity of Philipines were returned to the Phillipines by the Japanese at the end of WW2. The reefs and islets on the South China sea were instead forwarded to the Chinese Nationalist ...( Taiwan).....do read the other side of the Legal arguement.
