I'm so glad you did this video! I live in northern Utah, and this video brought a tear to my eye, realizing what great place I live in. Thank you! I'm sure you know the first KFC was in Salt Lake. Just a fun fact.
Jim Caponzi Well Utah has one of the fastest growing economies in the nation due to their business friendly policies and huge investments in technology. Also Salt Lake City is minority Morman which is why it’s actually becoming a very popular destination for people trying to escape the shithole that is California.
@Jim Caponzi we don’t like to be called that. Utah can be a really nice place at times. Not everyone here is highly religious, but by just saying that your disrespecting a lot of my close friends. I can’t say I like how religious and republican it is though
Lived here all my life. Utah does have amazing scenery. Guess ive taken it for granted for over 50 years. Architectural wise the temple is the most beautiful building ever. Only time i go is at Christmas. The light display is amazing. Nice to see a video of Utah.
Hi Hoosier, with your video WE can observe the real USA! I'm your fan from some years and I love your work...I use your video like inspiration for my trip accross United States! Greetings from Italy!
A beautiful city that houses one of the most heretical churches in America! Just as false as The Jehovah's Witnesses, Roman Catholicism and Scientology to name a few! Only the Holy bible and the bible alone stands for the truth!
The catholic church is the TRUE church of JESUSCHRIST, sadly there are traitors as jude, but thanks to God there are a lot TRUE diciples of GOD as JESUS said, evil will not prevail until the end of the days
Have fun with brine-shrimp . . . The great salt lake is full of those and they CAN smell HORRIBLE. makes most of the Wasatch front, (SLC area) smell bad.
im sorry you didnt have time to visit the amazing parks or art installations downtown. the mormon stuff is overdone. fellow hoosier here but now lived in slc for 6 years.
What do you mean the Mormon stuff is overdone? It's the only thing worth seeing in SLC. What do you go there for, the mediocre skyscrapers and 3 star gay bars?
Joel Jensen SLC has access to more outdoor activities then any other city in the U.S world class skiing and 100s of National and state parks within a 6 hour drive of the city. That is what people who aren’t Morman love about this city.
I visited Salt Lake. I live in Los Angeles. While in Salt Lake, I saw no homeless ppl. Streets were clean, roads were well maintained. Meanwhile in LA, it is the complete opposite
What? were you high? Or just not looking? They are every fucking where! Unless your downtown in Mormon land where homelessness is not allowed! I’m talking the two block radius around temple square and city creek... no homeless give me a break! Mormons just keep a clean image where they need it!
Kind of amusing how that temple just stands there, as if it were just another office building, surrounded by bigger office buildings. You'd think there would be a park around it, or something, or that there are restrictions on what kinds of buildings are allowed around it. In Cologne Germany, where they have one of the world's largest cathedrals, which took like 600 years to build, or something crazy like that, they have a law that no building in the city is allowed to be taller or obstruct the view on the cathedral. And Germany is a far less religious place than Salt Lake City, or the USA as a whole, for that matter. They just have that law for cultural and aesthetic reasons, the same way Paris has zoning laws to protect the view on the Eifel Tower. One thing I'm personally interested in is the handicapped parking situation in the USA. I'm handicapped too, not enough though to get a handicapped parking permit where I live. They are a bit... stingy, I guess you could say, here. You basically need to be needing a wheelchair or at least missing a foot to get the permit and with the advances in prosthetic technology, I'm not even sure that is still enough. Even people who need crutches or walking aids often are denied. I just have severely underdeveloped tendons, ligaments and muscles in my hands and feet. It is a birth defect. They are of normal size, luckily, but when it comes to the "inner workings", I'm basically walking around on a little child's feet, sprain my ankles all the time and it just is painful to walk longer distances or stand longer than half an hour or so. I can walk though. Pain isn't reason enough to get a permit. Not even complaining. They need to draw the line somewhere. But that is why I'm curious about how this is handled in the States. I assume you also need a special permit. What are the requirements? Do only people who have problems walking get the permit, or will any kind of handicap do?
Thanks for watching. As for the parking permit, here in the USA, or Indiana anyway, all you need to do is take a doctor's recommendation to your local license branch to get one. I can walk also, but only very short distances before the pain becomes intense.
The grounds around the Temple are a park like setting, in addition, there is a large park like space surrounding the large reflecting pool. Also, plenty of handicapped parking as well as a free lite rail system in the downtown area. SLC is a beautiful, clean city. Utah as a whole is a very beautiful state with diverse scenery.
