Poison Spider Repair Turns Into A Tow
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 вер 2024
- We got a call about a Toyota FJ-80 on Poison Spider that had sheered the front wheel studs off. So we got some from the parts store and headed up. We passed a group working on a jeep right before we got to the Toyota. After we got the Toyota fixed and driveable the group came up and asked if we could help tow the jeep down to the trailhead. So we went down and looked at it and figured we could help. So we pulled the jeep and it's driver down to the parking lot where they would bring a trailer to get it. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Love how Shawn tells the Rubicon guy, there will lots of yelling, don't take it personal, which is immediately followed by zero yelling, as Rubicon guy knows how to get towed like a boss!! Great job, Team Trail Mater and Rubicon Guy!!
I came to the comments to say just about the same thing! Rubicon guy looked like he has done that before. (The towing part, not the crashing part)
Hell yeah the rubicon dude came down like a champ!!
@@61rampy65 Oh he`s been towed before. He`s drivin a jeep.....
@@rickb5946 Good point!
Yes, he did a great job being towed. Always kept from running over the tow line, did the braking too.
“Mike, I’m telling you: don’t get old.” That’s some good life advice right there 😂 I totally back that up!
The camera just isn’t able to capture the true size of the landscape. I mainly watch on my phone but put you on the big screen and even that made an incredible difference. I don’t know how you keep your cool in some of these situations. Rory makes it look effortless and then you have to realize that he’s doing it while towing a second vehicle 🚗. It’s fun to watch a group of friends play in the sand and rocks. Please keep doing what you’re doing and taking us along. Be safe
Mike is a great cameraman. He really can get some great shots.
Exactly and Justin with his edits!!!
Incredible scenery
EPIC really
Two thumbs up for Mike's camera work!
He really is.
His appreciation for the beautiful scenery really shows. But he can then go right back to the trail running and wrench turning as well.
It's crazy how well Rory can remember all of the correct lines on those trails.
I can't believe I am still memorized by watching 4 wheel drive vehicles being pulled off the wilderness terrain.🙂👍👍
I know people comment (justifiably) all the time on Mike's filming and the wonderful scenery he manages to put into the clip: for those of us outside your terrain this is eyeopening! :) Such amazing geography and juxtaposition of geological features: please keep this up it is fascinating - please dont ever think we will get bored seeing it:) Thanks for a great recovery again guys! (from New Zealand)
His camera work is really good. And the scenery in person is even more amazing. I live in the neighboring state of Colorado, arguably one of the best scenic places in North America. However Utah is just incredible.
I agree wholeheartedly. I love the technical aspect of this work but the scenery is to die for. Thanks to Rory's team!
NZ has amazing landscapes too.
@@nsbhagwat it does my friend:)
And it frees up Rory's hands to show us all his skills also that i like so double thank to Mike and Shawn great crew.Respect Lonewolf Canada 😅❤
Getting old is better than the alternative ... and at a young 70 I can attest to that 🙂 I know there are some very nice comments on Mike and Rory and justifiably so... but don't forget that Shawn is there and always a great support, either wheelin Wil-E or driving a broken rig out... Way to go Shawn.... 🙂
Great repair & recovery. Hats off to the Jeep driver. Not easy to be flat towed never mind that terrain. Some really cool shots & great editing, thanks Justin. Thanks for sharing
Rory you make towing look easy and effortless. I always enjoy watching you tow a vehicle out is a true fabulous thing to watch. It seems it doesn't matter day or night you seem kind of bored like you need a challenge at times.
Mike is one of the best camera men that I know he always gets the good shots and footage.
Rory I am sure you know those trails like the back of your hand, but darkness has to add another level of diffaculty. You guys are really good at what you do. And thanks for no crap music.
The scenery is always an amazing backdrop to these recoveries. The Trail mater makes it look easy.
Great trail repair Rory! Great camera capture Mike, especially the one in the dark looking up the hill watching Trail Mater going left! Had to look really closely to see what it was. Great support Shawn. The driver in the Jeep did a great job following Rory and Not rear end him🤙😎
I am never disappointed with your videos. Thanks for putting them together.
Amen!!
Super recovery guys, especially pickin those lines in the dark & keepin that guy safe on the way down. Great guiding light and sweet camera work. It's always great watchin all 3 of y'all do y'alls thing. ☕🐢
The quality of your videos keeps getting better and better! I was trying to figure out what is so fascinating and I concluded it is the juxtaposition of machine and nature. Both have their beauty but their relationships can be extraordinary. Mike does a great job capturing it.
Another Great Episode of Trail Mater and the crew On the trails, Day & Night !
💯
Mike gives us better footage on the way in then most UA-cam crews give in their whole video
Nice work all. The jeep silhouette in the background at 14:20 is pretty cool.
Always amazed by how you go about the repairs and recoveries. Great camera work from Mike. Thanks guys for taking us along
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Cascade mountains. Lush mountainscapes, lots of trees, feet of snow. So why is it so soothing to watch Mater crawl around the rocks, listening to the bushings squeak, the 454 hum, the tires chirp? Moab is the exact opposite of what I love outdoors, yet I'm mesmerized by all of this! The same trails, the same rock, the same truck, and yet I can't wait for the next video to come out! ASMR??? I might need to seek a professional!! 😆
"There'll be a lot of yelling; don't take it personal" lol lol Mike is such a terrific, positive guy to have on your team; everything is "very nice" or "alright!!"
Mike is only now understanding what is meant when they call him, "The Responsible One."
Great timing on that one Rory and BTW, I feel your pain, quite literally. Don't get old, I wish I had listened to that advice a looooong time ago. c'est la vie Give Lilli a hug for me and God Bless you all.
It's really beautiful there at night, thank you guys for filming all the scenery. And I love all the different angles you're filming from. And that guy did a real good job of following you out.
LOVE all the fine noises coming from Mater!
The sunsets 🌇 are amazing out there in the desert!!
One repair that could drive out and one you had to tow in the dark! Good job guys!
My grandfather always said "boy don't ever get old" I should listened then .
I get it, but it beats the alternative.
@@davidalcott2278 absolutely
I just have to say my two cents about the exceptional videography and editing lately. You guys have come a long way with the improvement of video quality.
That's why I never ever go to EJS or Jamborees. Too much trail traffic. I am an off-season wheeler.
I'm not into "follow the leader" with traffic either.
I mainly go it alone, most times.
Rory, "Don't get old!" I got old real fast after a bad car wreck at age 55. I turned 70 last month, and I'm here to tell you, it still beats the alternative.
What an amazing service you guys offer, having the knowledge and capabilities to repair or haul people's broken vehicles out. I'm positive the customers are very very grateful.
How many miles does Mike hike and climb on these trips? He's an animal!
His secrets are downhill and Doritos.
@@wildonemeister Doritos needs to sponsor them! 🙂
@@Clintosaurous Fans have already sent them enough to last until next year, or at least a very long time. Mike and Rory made it clear that they did not need more (for the time being).
@@wildonemeister I knew that. I'm talking getting some $$$
Best flipping channel on UA-cam by far
I have always thought that ........ #Mostfun
Words to live by, "Don't get old " Personally I live to watch your videos 😀 lol. Thanks keep em coming 💯
I really like Mike's commentary and explanations while he's filming. Telling us what we are seeing gives depth to the video.
the Rocks and Night Skies behind them make for awesome video shots and Trail Mater with the rock lights on.
I really love the under belly driving shots, thanks Mike! Rory you and your team are awesome! Thanks for what you do! We look forward to every video you put out!
Great work as usual guys. I cant wait to break down in Moab someday! 😂
You need a “Tee” shirt with “please no stone feeding the blue diamond bill rock peckers” thanks for sharing.
I loved the comment in the outtakes; “Mike, don’t get old”. I’m 64 and can very much relate to that comment. Problem is, you can’t stop time. 🙂
Yes💚❣️ Happy Thursday!!! Thank you Rory, Shawn, Mike and Justin. You are appreciated!!! I dig trail mater's taillights!!!
A big part of what Rory and his crew do are field repairs whenever possible.
It's easy to overlook what great road / off road mechanics these gentleman really are.
I know this as a fleet mechanic myself.
Love the night recoveries- everything takes on a different aura. And i will second that last statement to Mike for sure! Thanks for taking us along.....
Definitely one of my favorite camera videos is a split screen of Trail Mater wheeling and Rory’s smooth pedal work in dad shoes! 👌👏
You guys are badasses. Building and maintaining a business that fixes broken down vehicles in the desert? Bruh. That’s pretty sweet that your services are available. Who else are peops gonna call?
This night time video was absolutely wonderful to watch Rory!!!! You really should give some thought to doing more of them!! 😊
Col. Hannibal Smith from A team would say " I love it when a plan comes together "
There , I fixed it 🤦
Awesome recovery again Rory Shawn and Mike
It seems the Jeep guy knew what he was doing. There was hardly any yelling.
Cant wait to come join in the fun, never a dull moment, etc..
Pretty cool Land Cruiser. Reminds me of someone I know ;)
Awesome filming, Mike! Rory, you have done an awesome job! Shean, you in your laugh are always welcomed! 😊
I love watching an old 3 pedal leaf sprung duallie walk around them Jeeps!
That is the best driving I've seen by a customer on the hook! With no radio to boot!
For a minute, thought I saw the northern lights. Now it was trail mater and Roary doing a night recovery. That camera slinger Mike got some good night time shot. 😮😮😊😊
Looks like a good day on the trail. God bless you and your family and your friends. Stay safe out there all the time.
That client in the towed vehicle did a good job managing those obstacle on that trail.
Good work by all but I really appreciate the driving by the customer being towed out. He was working REALLY hard controlling the brakes & steering without power assist. Not a scratch anywhere, no ropes run over. Good going fellas 😃👍
It’s nice to see a Night Time Recovery..👍👍😎
I have to agree with Rory at least he has Tow Mater's winch to help him get up off the ground! 😁
Rory says, Mike don't get old!
Mike says, Shawn's the young one here.
Gentlemen, I've got great news for all three of you.
You haven't a clue what's laying ahead of you, but remember this.
Don't stop doing what you're doing, because it's even worse if you do.
Remember the old saying?
" That if you don't use it, you lose it!"
That's the honest truth about the secret to life, because once you start slacking off what you've done all your life, it degrades even faster than if you just keep pushing yourself to continue like there's nothing wrong.
From someone who has been there, and didn't like the results of so called taking it easy in the gray times.
Trust me on this, because I typically don't butter things, are sugar coat things to anyone.
Better to burnout, than to fade away.
Don't get old is right ...that was a great trail repair - thanks for sharing, as always. Ciao
Well you can always remember what you did when you were younger. For me, it amazes me sometimes.
Sometimes I swear I can taste the sand in my mouth when you video down low while going over the rocks, ;)
Team Rory for the win. Nice work Mike.
Rory does these trails forwards, backwards, sideways, rain storm, sand storm, snow storm, and night or day,
God willing not upside down even though he could,
But Allen from
"yankum harder and faster" is giving classes to any unsuspecting youtubber that is willing,
Anyway, let not thee ramble on and on...
Good show matties 😊😂🎉
A two for one... in the dark even. Mike must have cat vision to scamper over the terrain. Cool recovery and great work.
I'm loving seeing my SSRA device getting used so much! Keep up the good work guys!
We love being able to use it.
Rory,
This is quite an evolutionary step in your content, not that it wasn’t good before.
Most excellent camera work and great work capturing the gorgeous and challenging landscape, just wow!
I like the smooth tip at the end of towing the jeep during the handshake
Hey Rory /// Shawn & Mike !!!!!! Yepper !!!! When you go out on a recovery ,,DON"T know what you are gona run into !! Guess Mike walked ALL the way back to get those great pics & video ??? Thanks for the ride & Get a spare set on headsets for ""MATER"" !!
"Don't get old!" Wish someone told me that earlier! 😆
Don't get old.............
Too late for me.
Thanks to you guys, I get a touch of wheelin.
What can be said other than excellence ! Great job.
Mike shoots the best rock crawling video!
Yeah the ending, I wish my body was 30 years younger.
Rory you are not old. When's that marathon in Moab again?
DON'T GET OLD??? HA HA! What other options are there? I'm still impressed how you guys move those 100 lbs tires and rims.
Again I will say that Rory and crew cannot be beat.
Rory is quite the mechanic! This is from a long time mechanic, welder and fabricator too!
Rory telling Mike not to get old!!😄I wish it was possible Rory, I feel ya when it comes to crawling around on the ground do repairs!!🙂
The hand off at the end was not to awful bad... Hahahaha. Great job as always guys.
That tow ws pretty incredible. I didn't hear anyone yell even once! 😂
With all the cool stuff you have on TM, I would not have been surprised if you pulled out a mini hydraulic press to install those studs.
Just the old fashioned swing press. Lol.
Great recovery Rory....first class night runnin !!!
Great job Rory Sean Mike and jeep man
Mike, just once I would like for you to show film of a beach full of seals with a bunch of Grizzley bears on a hill watching and growling, to the soundtrack of climbing a trail in the wrecker. It would be an awesome match I bet.
Rory telling Mike ;;Dont get old.'' I tell every bugger that but they dont listen!
They still do it. I'm not old, just 79.
I was just about to say just before the vid finished.... the only thing missing in this vid is Rory roasting someone and then right at the end he roasted Mike 😂😂
Great work Team!
Best words of wisdom....don't get old!!!
Y'all are just like the best in the galaxy...change my mind!
I got a little story for ya.... I have seizure's and when i have a seizure and i'm trying to drink water because it help's to breath (That sounds weird) but i watch your content and the scenic view's and you guys and the SOUND of your truck just really helps me calm and get my water down, oh yeah i watch your content when i dont have seizure's also.....haha. Keep it up my Utah brothers
3:17 Working those front leaf springs‼️👍
Not only does this channel have great content and banter between Rory, Mick and Sean it also has some of the best video of the landscape which enhances the main topic . I learn something from video. There are other channels on the same topic (that I won't name) that are just mind nummimgly boring.
HEY! Hello Rory , Mike and Shawn! Thumbs UP!
So GLAD that you don't use the Jay Silverheels Method of acting, Shawn. "There will be Lots of yelling." Deliverd "perfectly dead-pan."
Moab is such a cool little town, I remember walking a small part of Poison Spider it is no joke
Great video guys! I go along with Rory--Don't get old, although the alternative isn't exactly inviting!!
I an surprised more vehicles don't breakdown or get destroyed . Thanks for sharing .
Rory and crew, you guys are awesome!!
Getting old is painful. Great videography Mike.
