I don’t think most of the people in the comments grasped the meaning behind the lyrics and the video, and just view it as ridiculous. It’s clearly about escaping time restraints of daily life and finally becoming free by removing a mask and dressing up to escape ones reality. From what I’ve seen in the comments most people are way too fucking stupid to get that, and can’t appreciate subtlety in story telling. Which is too bad because this deserves more props, and Cillian Murphy made a great decision collaborating on such a unique project.

I don't think it's that people do not appreciate the art or the meaning behind this video. I completely understood. But I also laughed at the absurdity. I think because this is so unlike ANY role I've seen Cillian portray (especially if you think of Tommy Shelby in Peaky Blinders), that it's a bit of a shock. It's not bad. But it is funny.
