  • Keep Your Flex Tools! I Don't Want Em. This Flex Impact Driver is huge and has no modes. How does this thing not have any modes?! It's also larger than every competitor including any Flex vs Milwaukee. Milwaukee impact driver is much better ergonomically (and it's not perfect) but it's smaller. The ergonomics on this Flex tool is bad.
Add to that, the Flex Power Tool kit came with 2 leaking batteries. Never again.

I am highly invested in Flex, I have most of their tools currently available. I do not have any issues with any of their tools. Last year they had a huge deal 3 times where you could get $500 worth of tools for $350. I took advantage of that all 3 times.

Another thing about flex is their fan cooled chargers. My flex batteries and chargers are cool to the touch when they're done charging. The last time a charged one of my milwaukee 8ah batteries the charger and battery were piping hot to the touch. Flex is building a reputation by making quality tools....milwaukee is just living off of their reputation. There is no excuse for them not fan cooling their chargers. I suspect they don't want to pay a royalry to whomever holds the patent for that idea.

Co workers flex impact (with modes) out performs my Dewalt 850. It also feels like twice the weight and bulk of my 850. There hasn’t been anything that the 850 hasn’t been able to get done. It just takes a extra second or two to run in a timber screw when compared to flex. It’s likely only a few ounces, but I’ll take the smaller lighter tool to strap on my belt.

@@mandoreforger6999 Alot of Flex’s tools are right in line with the other prosumer brands in terms of ergos, not the best in any category but still rather good.
Except the impacts and drills. They’re ergonomically on the same level as Ryobi. The wrenches get away with it because there’s no need to push on them, but the drivers and drills are painful to use 8 hours a day, everyday. Mine sit home, and only really get used sometimes for metal fab, though they’re usually not my first choice.

flex has a rugeddy look to it. I don’t want people to think Flex doesn’t offer deals because they do. The impact driver on this video is more of an entry level tool, which explains the lack of modes. If you want compact, you will need to wait for their compact line, which was announced about a week ago.

That's good to know! They currently have two impact drivers, this and their top of the line one. But this one is $129... it should have modes. Every other brand has one around that price (or less as a kit!) and they have modes. Plus... two leaky batteries straight out the box.

@@ToolDeals i used to own this impact driver before I got rid of it. It wasn't a bad tool and the lack of modes didn't bother me. I also did not think it was that big in comparison because I know big when I see one. In fact, I actually liked the tool, but it didn't make sense for me to keep this and the top of the line. Now, the top of the line impact driver is not great for finish work and I thought the entry level was much better when it came to that type of work despite the lack of modes. The reason I invest on Flex and the Makita XGT is mainly to replace my Makita 18v. I expect the new Flex compact to do better than Makita subcompact because I had issues with that line. The leaks are not an issue. It is thermal grease that is used to distribute heat mote effectively. The first time the battery heats up, some may leak because they generously coat the cells.

Tons of videos. There’s a UA-camr who swears by Milwaukee, and he did the test himself, and watched Milwaukee get beat by flex plenty different times and scenarios over and over again. What do you use them for, videos? They all look new. Personally I’ve been invested in DeWalt for decades. I would argue during the last decade Milwaukee and Makita finally upped their game.
DeWalt seems to still offer the most good tools for the price. But if I wasn’t invested in DeWalt today, I’d probably go Flex or Makita(so long they remain Japanese).
Milwaukee is great. I’m still waiting on how Flex hands the durability department. Our older DeWalt drills took more damage than any competitor hands down. I would like to see drop tests performed with today’s drills. Flex is yet to prove themselves and the newer DeWalts don’t feel like the older ones(good or bad).

Up till recently i was a milwaukee guy. But after several tools breaking and a high number of batteries dying after only a few charge cycles i have given up on buying any more milwaukee. In fact im switching over to flex as i can afford it. I have 4 milwaukee 12ah batteries. 3 are not working at all....they flash red green on the charger and wont charge at all and the 4th is fading quick. I have an 8ah that runs circles around the remaining 12ah battery both in duration and power. 4 of the 12ah batteries! That's over $1000 dollars i invested in their sorry @$$ tool line just on those 4. I'm pissed. I'M REALLY PISSED!!!!
I will admit that part of the problem was that i bought them from home depot. I read they bought a huge amount of batteries from milwaukee at a special price and it took them a couple of years to sell them all. I believe it because every one of these batteries were blinking a single bar right out of the package. One of the 12s was red/green right out of the package. I tried several chargers until one charged it. I should have taken it back....

You got the cheap version bruh don’t make a video with the best Milwaukee and metabo and compare the lowest flex

The ones in this video all cost, at the time, around the same amount. Getting the most expensive flex wouldn't be apples to apples. Plus that Makita and the Metabo HPT are the lowest models too. Still better. Even today, the Flex Impact in this video and the new Metabo HPT triple hammer are exactly the same price. $129.

LOL, really? Flex tools are the worst ever. Most people have experienced leaking batteries. Never seen that on ANY other brand including Chervon's own Kobalt and Skil.

Me too, MHPT offers the best mix of performance and price. Other brands make great stuff (the M12 Surge rocks), of course, but MHPT is my go-to at 18v and 36v.

👍 couldn't agree more boys metabo hpt is the best bang for your buck I have milwaukee m12n 18v,dewalt, porter cable, German metabo, bosh 18 and 12v and metabo hpt and I'm always grabbing my metabo hpt grinder, impact circ saw most days as my first choice it's not just the price the ergonomics as well as price has won me over
