- Lohei, also known as Yusheng, is a vibrant and symbolic dish enjoyed during the Chinese New Year or CNY. It typically consists of a colorful mix of fish, abalone, shredded vegetables, sauces, and various condiments. I often wish that Americans had more family-centered cultural traditions. We are generally a culture of people with individual pursuits and family members are often separated by distance or choice.
