I am 65, I eat for pleasure, basically to reduce stress, I get stressed fast, so 90% for pleasure, but I cook vegetables with lots of Turmeric, mustard seeds, cumin, hot pepper every single day.
Max, eating fresh fruits 🥝🍑🍒🫐🍈🍌🍉🍇🍓🍊🍐🍎🍏alone is much better than drinking fresh juice 🧃. Many of the ‘fresh’ fruit juices bought from supermarkets have additives, colouring, extra sugar, but even if you make your fresh fruit juice, it’s a waste of so much more vitamins that sit in the food processor/grinder which end up being washed off. So,might as well eat fresh fruits. Both FLAX SEEDS and CHIA SEEDS are full of vitamins, antioxidants, and great source of fibre, too.
Max, good morning to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. HAPPY NEW 2025 YEAR to you and your family. Knowing what to eat to maintain a healthy diet and exercising is crucial in our lives . May your New Year be joyful, .,rich in experiences with new places and people you meet . All the best to you and your family this year for a peaceful, prosperous and fulfilling New Year.
If you eat at 4:30pm, by 10pm you feel hungry. My recent blood test shows my cholesterol is high, HbA1c is high (diabetic). My blood pressure is also high. I am trying to eat less carbs i.e rice and have only one meal per day. Have to stop drinking soft drinks. 19:50 Blending the vegetable or fruit into juice destroy/breakdown the fiber. Is better to just eat them whole with the fiber intact. When you drink orange juice, it will cause a spike in blood glucose as there is no intact fiber to slow down the absorption of the fructose into your body.
Another amazing video, Max!! Do we eat to live or eat to live? 🙈 Part III coming soon? Haha As a foodie myself, it's hard not to eat good food!!! XD Cheers to a healthier us in 2025!!
Thanks for the video. The biggest health challenge facing Singaporeans could be diabetes. Any one here works in the health industry, appreciate your comment.
Bro this nutritionist needs to chill we're not lab rats. Coffee transformed our civilization (work ethic, night shifts, etc) I will not hear blasphemy against it.
The nutritionist is just stating everything out. If you disagree with her, you do you. I think you should chill too. There are some people out there who likes to hear stuff they don't like to hear but evaluate it for themselves.
Why bother ingesting content and think these experts has to chill. No one cares if you use the info or not. Many of us need these info which govt is not telling us.
I think the fact that our genetics is so different for individuals that trying to eat what's "right" is so difficult. I think as long as we don't consume something specific excessively like alcohol for example, we should live to eat rather than eat to live.
I think some points she made were good but things like caffeine in foods that we take on a regular basis to keep us going that we should relook in a different light, I take it with a pinch of salt. What about other foods like tea? I agree that highly developed countries tend to eat more ultra-processed foods but the reason being many people don't have the luxury of time. Perhaps the key to eating for everyone in cities like ours is to strike a balance in between vs. going all out for a 100% nutritional diet.
The half life of caffeine is not 12 hours as she says, which unfortunately undermines her argument in this regard somewhat. Various figures are usually quoted, but it is more in the region of 5-7 hours.
Still, I read from another nutritionist that eating fruit is better than drinking fruit juice since juice could cause sugar spike. And Chia seeds needed to be hydrated before consuming. So whom to listen?
Yes, eating fruit is better than drinking fruit juice. Fruit contains fiber which helps to buffer the rise in blood sugar. Whereas fruit juice has fiber being removed, so no buffer, and you get the blood sugar spike Moreover, you need, maybe 6 to 7 oranges to make a glass of orange juice. Imagine the amount of spike in your BS. A lot, isn't it ? I think we are usually satisfied with eating 1 orange, fiber and all. Hope this helps. 🙂
I don't know about the chia seeds, but listen to everyone and do your own research and decide. It's probably true that eating fruit is safer than drinking it because you can drink it a lot faster. But I think the healthiest way is the way that gets you to consume more fruit. Which for me is definitely in juices and smoothies. If worried about sugar spikes, just drink it more slowly. A little at a time. Not a big deal.
@@barblee9615I think she was meaning blending your fruits / vegs (fibres are not separated)…as opposed to ‘juicing’ your fruits /vegs which is pure extraction of the juice from the fruit.
Love this interview. As much as sg seems to a developed country but unhealthy foods like vegetables oils and ultra processed foods are getting out of control! Why bother fighting the losing battle with chronic illnesses if we allow these foods!

Alcohol is alcohol. Just don’t drink any. Don’t smoke. Have your local food but keep within 1500 calories per day. Believe in science and take your HBP, glucose and cholesterol medication from your polyclinics and go for blood tests twice a year. You’ll be fine. Best advice from local nutritionist.
is funny how contradicting she is. she talk abt chocolate saying you should eat it in raw form or by it own, for it to be considered of its benefits, becos anything processed after has like sugar added. which is suposedly not good but she promote fruit juice instead of eating raw fruits on its own. shouldnt it be she promote eating raw fruits instead cmbecos anything blended means its high in sugar and lost of fibre.
