@@ShinGarugamesh Well, the lyrics could serve a double purpose. There's the obvious allusion to Sephiroth, but there's also the meaning of the lyrics, "Burning inside with violent anger". SPOILER below the break: It could also refer to the Planet itself, burning with anger because of how humans are mistreating it, draining away the very cycle of souls so that humans can enjoy a little extra comfort. In the original game, where do we hear the theme of One-Winged Angel? In the place we fight Sephiroth, at the core of the Planet. Just because they couldn’t be arsed to take a single step out of the way. In real life, if you see someone kneeling on the ground, you’re not gonna step right onto what they’re trying to pick up. So... i wondered why she looked so startled. This is the ending of the original FF7. The “bad” ending in this remake universe. Her consciousness had returned from that time, and now she has a chance to remake the world and prevent this bad ending. Or maybe I’m on crack. Ugh this game is a mind f***
Bruh, I knew they were going to make some big change in the game story-wise, but I didn't think it would be that. Is what you said about Aeris actually confirmed to be true in this remake or are you just speculating?
ntwynn But honestly, that stuff just hurts my brain to think about. If that’s what where they are going, they’re going to be telling a WHOLE different story.
ntwynn ntwynn ntwynn ntwynn ntwynn The thing you said she was scared about though I think was supposed to be the whispers. They should up when events threaten to deviate from the original game. The completionist talks about it in his video regarding the remake at 18:33.
The world map. The world map. After all they have put us through in just Midgar ... I genuinely FEAR the world map and what it will look like. Now with that said, since the bar is so low with the original and through all the iterations we have seen in FFVIII through FFXV I am really wanting to see just what the actually do with the world map. My only hope is that on the world map we have the entire group travel together and when we camp (we did have tents in FFVII) that it plays like FFXV camping where there is much interaction and incredible immersion into the characters, their back stories, their lives, etc. I also hope that they give us something we have never really had in any any Final Fantasy Title ever - deployment missions from campsites. Meaning some random NPC shows up needing help or something and mini missions for either selected or specific characters - even single character missions become playable. That would insanely epic and totally badass of them as well.
Carly Crays I would expect we all would be quite happy with the world map if it works just like FFXV. There is also a part of me which would really like to see SE really push it on the Open World Map and I don’t mean just with graphics. I would like to see them incorporate more of the story into the world map. In the original we would have random dungeon areas where we would see the Shinra Thugs having interactions between themselves but also random fights with them trying to steal Aerith from us, or random night fights with them trying to harass us and we get to beat them back, and some later on where they just show up to rest and enjoy a good meal of Ramen Noodles!! Also random mini boss fights right out the Midgar gate like the T-Rex on FFXII. I also hope they really open up the map with mini camps of random NPCs like several other FFU games, Chocobos map hunting, etc.
@@bberghahn But what FF15 really excelled at was just the way it allowed you to feel like a real part of the adventure. Just those moments fishing and relaxing were the best!

20+ years ago we were shown a possibility of a world where we could live and experience a tale that was far more epic in our minds than what was truly before us. Now we are going back ... and going back with the veil of the past truly removed ... going back to the literal reality of the world and it’s people and it’s evils and it’s most epic events with eyes wide open .... eyes wide open because we who lived the first know the story but also accept that we now have travelers going with us who no nothing of the realities of this place ... We go knowing but also in wonder ... You say we are going home ... I disagree completely, for now we will finally see home exactly as it truly is and we will be seeing it completely fully and experiencing it as we can only experience it now ... not then. Not then. You say “Lads, We’re going home.” I say “Lads, Home now summons us back. Home didn’t tell us everything the first time. Home needs us to return. Home needs us to finally understand the truth and to finally understand what happened 20+ years ago. Truth was denied but will now be finally revealed to us. Reunion will be real but will we be ready? Home calls us back to test our skills, test our resolve, test our understanding, and I fear to also test our imaginations with literal truths we were denied all those years ago.” Thoughts of a 40 year old fellow traveler who has been patiently waiting for Home to decide for us to return or be left wanting. I am a fellow traveler who also has a new traveler who knows nothing of Home. I am most glad and appreciative that Home decided we needed to return instead of leaving us wanting.

Makes you think about modern life and our over crowded cities. Instead of 'mako' we are talking all of the resources out of the earth and burning the forests and filling the skies and oceans with our waste.
Makes me happy I don't live there
@@ShinGarugamesh Well, the lyrics could serve a double purpose. There's the obvious allusion to Sephiroth, but there's also the meaning of the lyrics, "Burning inside with violent anger". SPOILER below the break:
It could also refer to the Planet itself, burning with anger because of how humans are mistreating it, draining away the very cycle of souls so that humans can enjoy a little extra comfort. In the original game, where do we hear the theme of One-Winged Angel? In the place we fight Sephiroth, at the core of the Planet. And in the end, the Planet uses Holy to try to take its revenge, by helping Meteor wipe out humanity.
TillTheBreakOfDay except there’s no jenova, no meteor, so you’re good lol. Don’t be in any leadership for the sake of our planet
I'm almost 55. When I saw that logo and heard the theme song, I was 32 again and tears came out of my eyes, uncontrollably. I can't put in words what I felt.
Oh yes! Pretty much analogous to how I typically describe my age to people when asked: »I was 7 when I played Final Fantasy 7 in 1997.«
I love the attention to detail when it came to the guy who stepped on Aerith’s flower.
In a similar situation, many games would just have some dude step on it for no real reason. Just because they couldn’t be arsed to take a single step out of the way. In real life, if you see someone kneeling on the ground, you’re not gonna step right onto what they’re trying to pick up. The guy who steps on it in this cutscene was carrying a large box, so his vision was too obstructed to see the flower on the ground
Didn't even realize the guy was carrying a box. The first guy was an ass though
Speaking of attention to detail, you can see the 2 materia slots on the buster sword. You even see the materia shine when he swings it. So cool.
I also like the visual storytelling. The flower foreshadows Aerith's fate
@@KHtrinity1 Well, the sound isn't bad either. Playing the lyrics of One-Winged Angel was a pretty dark touch.

So... i wondered why she looked so startled. This is the ending of the original FF7. The “bad” ending in this remake universe. Her consciousness had returned from that time, and now she has a chance to remake the world and prevent this bad ending.
Or maybe I’m on crack.
Ugh this game is a mind f***
You are absolutely right. The ending of the original FF7 is the beginning of the FF7R. Her consciousness has returned...
Bruh, I knew they were going to make some big change in the game story-wise, but I didn't think it would be that. Is what you said about Aeris actually confirmed to be true in this remake or are you just speculating?
Joseph Castle pure speculation. I have no idea what the hell is going on

ntwynn ntwynn ntwynn ntwynn ntwynn The thing you said she was scared about though I think was supposed to be the whispers. They should up when events threaten to deviate from the original game. The completionist talks about it in his video regarding the remake at 18:33.
First few seconds is what made me excited the most. I can't imagine what the world map will look like!
@@bberghahn Honestly, if they gave us something just like FF15, would anyone complain?
@@bberghahn You guys, this is episode 1 in a series, it's just going to be Midgar. Greatly expanded, but no Nibleheim, you know?

Damnit. Is it Aerith or Aeris. Because when I played this (N America) back in the day...it was definitely Aeris.
@@RealityIsTheNow It's Aerith. Aeris was a mistranslation. In every other piece of VII related material or anytime the characters show up in spinoffs it's always Aerith. It's meant to be a play on Earth. The reason it became Aeris is because in Japanese her name is "Earisu" which is itself a pun relating to the Earth or nature. It was even Aerith in early promotional material before the game came out. It wasn't until the game actually shipped that the error was noticed.
