I wouldn't go and say Nick all star Brawl is dead, it's more on lfe support giving that how the devs are still bring more characters and stages even tho not many players are still playing the game. Unlike Multiversus the game hasn't fully come out yet, with their being still some bugs they need to be fix and other characters to add in the game. But by the looks of things this game might last a lot longer Nick Brawl and other dead Smash clones, but like you said time will tell.
I think multiversus will last much longer, I've already spent more time on multiversus than I have on nick all stars. All stars felt, and still feels kinda clunky and weird. It's not a terrible game, it just doesn't feel super smooth and as fun as smash, or multiversus. Nick all stars felt almost like it was fanmade if that make sense. Multiversus doesn't. Edit: Nvm the game fucking died lol Edit Edit: Is ok it comes back soon.
in all honesty. i like all star brawl more than most smash clones or multiversus. graphical in models its better. voices were added and dlc gives hugh neutron. look its dead for most people. there are a lot of people, in the community which houses 8000 people, who disagree with the dead argument. its still fun to play and i didnt put it down since
I agree, and as you’ve stated, it’s very smooth on how it runs. Additionally, it’s mechanics are different from the normal platform game, especially with the fact each character is uniquely different, you can add modifiers to your character, and the fact that charging up attacks even exists to add new routes for other crazy stuff. This game is so fun in 5 different levels it’s gonna last
Yeah I'm glad someone else said that lol. I didn't wanna be that guy xD lol. But fr I actually wished they warned us that the "default" characters get switched around so you'll need to save gold if you want to play that same "default" hero when they lock them up and make other characters the "default."
@@royhatcher7766 bro I totally agree! I went to go play my main, Jake, and was confronted with a purchase screen! Luckily I bought Tom & Jerry, and Garnet (highly recommend). Also if they let people know, it would've made the atrociously priced founders packs, somewhat viable! But I'll just grind, no problem!
I am really shocked you didn't mention what seems to be the main gameplay difference. To me it seemed like the massive difference MultiVersus was going for is making teamplay fun. In Smash all I ever want to play is 1v1, but when you look at MultiVersus you see all this team synergy put into not only the perks, but right in the characters move sets as well. In my eyes the team play with a friend is what really separates MultiVersus from Smash for me.
True! I went to 2v2 as my first online, not even sure why I think it was recommended by the system, and maybe it's my luck but was paired with people playing tanks and damn it felt good! It really felt like a duo game, and it was quite easy to work around the toolkit of my partners even though we were two randoms with no communication. I don't know how characters other than brawlers work in 1v1 environment, but they definitely did their homework on making the team gameplay solid.
The moveset of Tom and Jerry is straight up genius. There are so many little nuances to each ability they have, with multiple variations depending on the state of Jerry, yet it all flows together incredibly well. I don't think I've ever seen a character like this in a platform fighter. Extremely intricate yet very intuitive when you get the hang of it.
You'd also like Iron Giant moveset then. All his moves aren't him fighting actually since IG hates fighting if you seen the movie. All his moves are accidental.
I brought this point up to my friends, he feels completely different from any duo character in smash, ice climbers, dog, banjo, Olimar (ehhhh probably not a duo character?) Yah get the gist, tom and jerry is hella unique. I'm not too experienced on othe fighting games besides mk and soulcaliber. Fantastic design.
@@coreyjackson3462 He's one of my favorite characters and I see what you mean. I will say tho that all of those other characters are partners besides from ice climbers not really duo characters. Just characters with another person there. Duck hunt only uses duck for recovery, banjo mostly the same. Ice climbers is the only true duo character IMO.
The fact their gimmick is just you getting in THEIR way is my favorite aspect. It's incredibly creative and something I think is handled better than other plat-fighters: the attention to detail
Tom & Jerry have to be the most creative character in this game, tom and Jerrys moves just being them constantly trying to kill each other is amazing, the noises tom makes when he gets knocked out are hilarious and do a good job at paying homage to the original cartoon. best character 10/10
I really really hope Multiversus doesnt fall off. The character variety is soooo fucking good. And God i really do think Walter White should be added, fans made title cards for him with some poison tech (ya know meth) added as his specials or perks I think.
The thing is you can tell the developers of Multiversus really tried and put care into the game. For All Stars, there was likely some attempt at putting care into it; but it feels like Nick just rushed the game out before it got time to properly cook in the oven.
Considering they the release window, it definitely feels like All Stars was released because Nick wanted it NOW, but is quite obvious the game wasn't fully complete, I think the developers themselves said that the game could feel like a different experience like a half a year after release, which were kinda right considering the voice acting was actually done. Oh Nicklelodeon, you're so annoying and dumb... why are corporations so desperate when it's obvious the project isn't 100% ready? I guess Nickelodeon doesn't really care about it's reputation.
classic nickelodeon. rarely cares about quality. if it’s quick money then they do it. losing audience trust for short term money. they are going down bc of the smarts of wb making a free and heartfelt game.
iirc, the team that created NASB cared a lot, Nickelodeon themselves didn't care at all. They barely had any funding and had to basically beg to get the characters that they got.
I understand wanting to have the option of refunding characters and it should be in the game but they do have the option to play characters before you buy.
I can't wait to see all the characters there going to be adding to this! I'd love to be able to play as Ben 10, Fred Flinstone, and Popeye! Would also love to see the unique interactions like if Popeye and Shaggy were bragging about how strong they are
The amount of different characters with their fun differences is enough to make you want to play this game. I can't wait to see who they add in the future!
One little thing about movesets is the fact they are grounded and aerial versions, but they can change completely compared to Smash. You get more in a moveset with this type of idea. Steven can make a healing pool and overtime a Watermelon Steven appears as an ally and fights with you, but if you use his down special in the air he rides around on a shield
Characters actually have less moves in this game. A standard smash character will have: Jab*, Ftilt*, Utilt*, Dtilt*, Fsmash, Usmash, Dsmash, Nair*, Fair*, Bair, Uair*, Dair*, SideB*, UpB*, DownB*, NeutralB*, Fthrow, Bthrow, Uthrow, Dthow, pummel, final smash. A multiversus character only has the ones with an asterix plus the 4 specials have air versions. Thats 16 compared to 22 with 12 being the same. How it gets away with it is 1: moves are way more extreme, they’re fast, big, quick and strong quite often, especially compared to their smash counterparts. This doesnt leave any characters feeling particularly vulnerable due to lacking the right moves (although i do with they’d give superman a landing option). Secondly half of an MV fighter moveset is special moves, the moves that exemplify the characters the most, it gives every character such a strong flavour factor, even more than smash, it’s such a strong hook for character fans over fighter fans.
TLDR: smash has more moves but because they’re more moderate and fewer of those moves are specials the multiversus cast feel more like their characters of origin than the average smash character does.
The movesets for all the characters are completely unique. Iron giant is a pacifist so all his attacks aren't really attacks, just scenes from the movie. Tom and jerry literally attack themselves to fight, now we got lebron with basketball and rick with portals.
I will say for the character "purchases", in practice and now local matches, you have access to the full roster, meaning you can experiment a bit when you get the coins before your choice
Unfortunately you can't play both local, and online at once. That really kills the cake for me since I need to do both to play games like these more then 1v1 with family.
@@lightningpenguin8937 if you are playing on Steam you and a friend can use the remote play together feature which lets you stream the game to their PC and play as if you 2 were playing locally
Here’s how I see it: If you want to play a platform fighter as your favorite video game characters, play smash. If you want to play a platform fighter as your favorite movie, cartoon, or tv show character, play multiversus.
I’ve been playing multiverses for 2 days and honestly it’s definitely alot of fun. The perks don’t you 100% overpowered, It’s not fully P2W, the representation (gameplay, memes, references, and more) is amazing. SSBU seems like a sweaty game because of the things you can do, but multiverses seems fair for everyone. I definitely enjoyed playing bugs because of the movesets and because i just love bugs in general. Multiverses is one of those games that get you excited when you’re dominating in the match. Multiverses is definitely worth it 👍
@@kobain5042 Mostly agreed. You can't downright pay to get perk, and you get perks quite fast for the characters you use. However, the premium battle pass gives out XP boosts.
I'm a Finn main myself. Loved Adventure Time, and felt good in his playstyle. Bugs is also a great character, and I 100 percent agree with your point. Keep up the niceties, Doc!
I love how they presented the characters in their movesets. Also, they fact that they pulled off the Iron Giant without making him small to accomodate the size of the other fighters makes me hopeful that other characters that vary in size could be playable later. Edit: jesus fucking christ i started a war in my replies. Also get gud sage
Bro. Not to sound toxic. But Iron Giant is way to OP rn. The game is good but still needs some adjustments to characters. Iron Giant can literally win a 2v2 by himself.
The thing I like most is that every once in a while the game raffles characters you can play for free without playing coins and it’s nice if you wanna try out some characters
Multiversus could last years. WB makes pretty great games. The only problem is that they inevitably stop updating them after they figure out a ‘better’ method to advance in gaming. Like what happened with injustice. It could easily have a successor down the line. But I really hope that’s not the case. Just like in fortnite, you don’t always need to make a huge step up among another game. That can backfire hugely. Especially in a game that incentivizes you to grind for cosmetics. Let’s just hope this game keeps up the attention to detail and love.
They won't do that, free to play games is designed to last as long as possible. Unlike injustice where they can't justify to update it anymore because the only playerbase are the ones who paid for it which is very little compared to f2p.
@Mirsty I mean, so far I've been enjoying multiversus more than I have ever enjoyed smash due to the 2v2 nature, and lack of shields. But you are entitled to your opinion.
@Mirsty except smash is actually a terrible game and no company is more corporate than fucking Nintendo, mfs could sue people for having the name Mario and no one would be surprised.
ts Honestly, I'm having a blast playing this game. When I started two days ago, I've played it with a buddy for like.. 6-8 hours, and then continued with 1v1s for another 4-6 hours, for a total of 12 hours. I'm a huge smash fan too, although I can't play it online at home because Nintendo doesn't like my internet, even though I have no problems with any other online game. It's f2p and available on several devices, if you look at what characters are leaked, the excitement gets even bigger. There's not a ranked mode yet, but it still has that competetive edge that I love, especially with a rank being available. The only thing I dislike about the game is people abusing their characters in unfair ways. (Faz with his tornado, although as a Jake main, that's no problem. But those Batmans that only fight while their throw thing is thrown is so fucking annoying while being so fast too.) All in all, I think it's gonna last for a good while, and if WB is smart and dives into the eSports scene with it as well, they're gonna be the #1 fighting game with ease, as Nintendo is more anti-community and eSports than anyone else.
@@Ricepad I'm pretty sure there is. The devs have made it very clear that they want to listen to the community and give them what they want. They've talked about going into eSports as soon as possible and have also said they want to consistently pump out content for the game.
What you said about Tom and Jerry is spot on with how I felt when I tried out Iron Giant, I just love watching him do his moves and I was smiling ear to ear just seeing all the neat refrences they put in and a really nice attention to detail with him is when he gets out off his rage mode he looks distraught and looks at his hands with a sense of "What have I done" just like in the movie
Totally agree with the IG take. He was the character I was most worried about being bastardized character wise, but they did it in a way that it totally believable for me.
As much as Nick has given it a bad name, Player First have been AMAZING with their marketing, keeping the hype train going long after most games would have been forgotten, but also doing it in a way that doesn't leave a sour taste in people's mouths. Also, Tony Huynh is a wizard when it comes to PR, he seems to have an uncanny understanding of how to pick the most valuable issues to address when people are bringing them up, and does so with great frequency, so players feel heard and appreciate it more. On top of that, their product stands on its own and clearly has a lot of love put into it, meaning players who find it are more loyal and will have a higher chance of recommending it to a friend.
This game won't last that long regardless. While the game is definitely fun, it's just another "I'll play it because it's free" game that will lose steam once the hype dies down.
@@Lee-km7qq yes the hype will die down like with every game That's to be expected? And you just sound salty with that statement Or just have a negative look on everything new? How do you know it won't last long? I mean shit all they have todo is keep the content coming And listen To players Look at brawlhalla Yeah its not popular as it was but its still very alive after all these years I expect multi verses to have a decent amount of players even years from now
I love that Iron Giant, like Tom and Jerry, also isn't actually attacking. All of his moves except for the goober mode are actual things that happen in the movie where IG is just being himself
In my opinion, these kind of “smash” games should be pushed toward those who loved smash growing up. Nickelodeon really only has a few characters that people truly resonate with in comparison to that of WB, especially opening it up with third party characters too. DC, Looney Toons, Game of Thrones, Rick & Morty, Scooby-Doo. People love seeing their favorite characters in games and not only does WB have more of a chance to do it than others but I think the gameplay may evolve with new gamemodes and maps based around every character drop? Maybe? Hopefully? Seems like a great marketing model, F2P with battlebass in this type of game works imo
I think Nick missed the mark with the characters, but Multiversus got it right on the money. Nick only had 3 SpongeBob characters, 2 Avatar characters, and 0 Jimmy Neutron characters when it came out. Multiversus has Tom & Jerry, Shaggy, Bugs Bunny, Batman, etc.
I think the game can have longevity if there's some tweaking to the amount of currency gained per 1v1 match. Keep in mind, you get a REALLY small amount of Gold per match in that mode. Which makes the main goal of unlocking characters far more tedious than it should. Teams however, that's fine. Especially if you play with a friend. Another thing I'd like to see is something beyond the for modes we already have. I know that's asking a lot, but when talking about pure love and respect, Smash Bros is one of the most beloved video games ever. So this game has to work extra hard to having more than half the staying power. That said, I've been having a blast. Been playing it with a friend who was SUPER excited about it and we've been making a great team. Might participate tournaments, who knows. 👀👀
The game has been in beta for like 5 days I am sure that a month or two will add tons of things like character or season challenges, rank play, etc to help with the grind
@@davon4647 it's more so just an observation since this video was discussing it's longevity, I was just throwing my hat in the ring in what I see that's could be a problem for that.
Multiversus’ emphasis on dodges and approach to recovery reminds me a lot of Rivals of Aether, and anything that makes a game more like Rivals is a good thing
i watched the video without lookin at the subs and i was rlly surprised that you only have 11k, I honestly taught you were 2M+ judging by the quality, you gained a new sub , keep it up man
8:37 you can test any character in the lab even if you don’t own them. Also rivals of aether is another successful platform fighter. It also doesn’t have shields or universal grabs, just like multiversus. It’s very fun, I would also recommend trying it out, although it isn’t free like multiversus
People keep saying this but have you ever played a fighting game before? Mashing combos on a stupid target dummy is not a good way to get a feel for a character. It needs to be more. Tons of people are going to see a tournament or a trailer and go "wow that character is cool I want to play them" and then not even bother when they realize they need to jump a bunch of hoops just to try them against a real human opponent.
@@Taziod damn you’re stupid stupid huh? Practicing combos on a dummy is the perfect way to get a feel for a character. For starters, it’s the only way to see the character’s moves for yourself before you decide to buy them. And I’ve played multiple fighting games, and yeah the neutral will come with experience, but at the end of the day, if you can land that first hit, it’s about finishing the combo. You can’t practice combos on a real person before you actually know how to do it
@@Taziod You can change the bot character and make it fight, you can also change the difficulty on the bot. Sure it's not a human player but it goes a long way in making you get a feel for the character
You can also play all of the cast in local play with a friend so you can practice them. The labs functions are, while not as in-depth as smashes yet, really good for testing new characters.
@@Taziod I mean no one will be good the moment they pick up a character. No matter how long they train in practice. That’s a player issue not a game issue. The player needs to make a commitment to learn and enjoy the character.
The combination of f2p and nostalgia was already a great way to start this game, but the most important thing is that the playerbase will be enormous considering the full 3 platform cross-play. Not even mentioning they're already setting a quick content update pace AND seem to be taking the competitive side of the game seriously.
Multiversus has the advantage of being ftp and a lot more regular content updates. Player First Game is so responsive and nice to their community, I feel like this has soooo much potential
I think the biggest reason why all star ended up failing was because they asked for 40+ dollars for a very bone dry game where multi-verse is going to be free to play smart move
Multiversus, despite it's issues, is distinctly not ass and doesn't feel hollow like Nick did. It cuts it's own niche, is mega accessible, and has crossplay online, so there will always be players somewhere, even if you're on XB1
I think part of why Multiversus will last longer is because it has a more iconic cast of characters. Sure, millions of people have seen Avatar, The Loud House and Spongebob. But it is almost impossible to find someone who doesn't know Bugs Bunny, Superman or Tom and Jerry
The thing that helps this game stand out is the clear passion that went in to it. I haven't seen more expressive animations and characters in a game like this before, and it's very obvious they care about the fans in one way or another. Multiversus has a ton of potential with its roster and I'm very excited to see where it ends up
I've been trying to put my finger on why exactly this game is holding my attention so much and I think that you absolutely put what I was feeling into words here. I was never a huge fan of "getting good" at smash or all stars brawl because the style of fighting never felt right to me. Dodging and maneuvering around my opponents fits my playstyle a whole lot better and that's exactly why i'm hooked. I'm even entering some online tournaments lol
@@androidroo6618 smash is literally designed for wee babies with anti competition. Idk wtf your smoking thinking smash is harder, maybe if you have to use a trash joycon lol.
@@nigelcrits LOL it’s way harder, hit boxes are smaller, having some to learn how to play around the edges, waves bouncing. I am having a lot of fun playing multiverse but I smash is just a harder game
I love the team aspect of the game that continuously pushes me to play teams and my personal favorite thing is the large reach in characters that they can access and add, all of which I would grind hours to unlock to see how well they work and who they work better with
You can practice all characters in the lab for Multiversus. If you turn on the bot then you can fight it, allowing you to practice characters before you purchase them
Making Multiverses FTP and having a good reason to come back daily was an incredibly smart choice. WB knows what they are doing, while Nickelodeon hired an AMAZING team for ASB then gave them 0 support.
I love multiversus! Like the game itself is hella fun. I rarely enjoy a fighting game, cause i have an anger issue. But multiversus just different, like you said that this game has a lot of easter eggs in it. Even if i lose, sometimes i just laugh cause the characters are mocking each other. The combat is fun as well! I played NASB for a month, and i kinda enjoyed it at first. But after i participated on closed alpha multiversus, the combat mechanics that multiversus has it just more smooth and more fun to play. Also, i get your point. Sometimes you can feel the grinding in the game when you want to unlock new characters, but it's worth your time to grind! And for a tip, you can just check the characters which you want to unlock on the lab and try it before you buying it! I kinda feel that this game will long last, cause unlike NASB this game hasn't official released, but they already introduce new 3 characters to us (Lebron, Rick, and Morty). And it's free, it's not a dlc. You just have to grind to unlock it like the others :)
Ive played alot of smash and smash clones in my life and out of all of them this one just has me coming back and playing more and more. I loooove multiversus. Most of the chaeacters are fun to play
I'm glad someone brought up the lack of blocking and even grabbing. I think the game is hella fun with dodging and attacking. It's actually fitting for the franchises especially the cartoon ones. Blocking always slowed yhe pace down and no matter what game it was. My eyes drooped.
i appreciate you using nighthawks as your background picture, i‘ll never forget that painting cause i had to write a whole fictional story around it for german class in like 9th grade. good memories.
well no shit. Nick has 7 people who are developing the game and not being funded, while this game has a HUGE budget and has a way bigger dev team. I would HOPE its more polished lol.
@@mehgamer467 they didn't have to release it in that state though. i've played several better games made by fewer people on a lower budget because they decided to have and extended alpha/beta/early access period. it felt really bad paying that much money for a game that was that unfinished
@@mayauppstad9883 thats not really the developers fault tho. Nick pushed them to rush. And give me examples of what you stated. Fighting games I mean. Please research in the future before making future comments thanks.
@@mayauppstad9883 also if you didn't even know about the budget or staff to begin with, how would you even know if the games you played had a lower budget lol. What.

Side note about Nick All Star Brawl I prefer shortening it to “Nick Brawl” instead of “All Star Brawl” just cause its shorter and it also includes “Nick” in it clearing up that its a Nickelodeon game.
As someone with thousands of hours in smash I can say that multiverses is a really fun twist to the genre. I like the idea of perks and I love how you can make a whole strategy with your teammate just based around the perks you chose. I definitely think it’s an easier game to wrap your head around then smash but that’s ok because there is still huge skill gaps between good and bad players. I’m looking forward to seeing where multiverses goes and if it manages to stay alive
not sure if it has been said yet. but one thing to note is in the training room you can play any character and test them out. so you and try someone out before you buy them. also for local couch play, all characters are unlocked.
I feel like you hit the nail on the head with All Stars, even just watching it, it looks bland. Sure there are cool mechanics which allow for cool technical combos with things like wavedashing. But it just feels like a you're playing a husk of the same character with a different skin on. With Brawlhalla I haven't had that much experience with honestly, I've played a bit and it's alright, it's just a little bland to me, it doesn't have that same X factor that Multiversus has got. The attention to detail on the characters is what gets me pumped up. The interactions, the graphics looked polished, and add progression and mains into a game and you've got yourself a killer game with a killer roster. The best analogy I could give about this would be like DC's Justice League and Marvel's Avengers. They've got the components but Marvel just put that extra attention to detail to make it all mesh naturally (Multiversus), while the other just had all the pieces, except for voice acting) but it missed the goal of making these characters experiences instead of just hey look I'm Spongebob. Hope that made sense lol
I actually like your metaphorical examples, Bloodborne to Multiversus and Dark Souls 3 to SSBU. It's a fair comparison to comparing the two games. And guess what? I enjoyed both of them, and all of them on their own merits.
I’ve always been a huge fan of anything Looney Tunes, particularly Bugs & Daffy. Multiversus has made me so damn happy lately, I feel like a kid again every time I see that wabbit on screen. Bugs and Taz are the sole reason why I’ve tried out Multiversus and the gameplay has kept me engaged. I gave Smash a try but I never had the same feeling as I did when playing Multiversus. My theory is that because I did not grow up with video games, I didn’t have any attachment to the characters. I hardly had any knowledge on Nintendo stuff, but I have so many huge memories tied to Looney Tunes. It’s probably dumb, but stuff like characters is really important to me. Hearing the banter between characters in Multiversus still fills me up with some giddy feeling. Holding onto the hope of seeing some Daffy in the future. Really resonated with this video and just the way you present information. You have a very nice speaking manner.
I wish I understood the love for this game's flow. I agree with everything you said about the game, but when I play it, something about how the movement and attacks don't work for me. it's like the extreme opposite of clunky, it feels too weightless and floaty, like how the hit stun works, being sort of short and hard for me to register. In SSBU, the hits really felt impactful and the character's movement really had weight to it. In Brawlhalla, the game focused more on fluidity and freedom of movement in a responsive way, as this game does. Thing is, Brawlhalla didn't (eventually) have the freedom at the cost of weight, and by having more friction, stronger gravity, and dashes( a replacement for grounded side dodges that didn't give invincibility but also didn't bring you to a halt when the dash is finished, even putting you into a sprint instead), and air movement that for feels snappier, quicker and more responsive than Multiversus. At least for me. I appreciate everything that Multiversus does well, but at the end of the day, I can't enjoy the game as much as it deserves me to, because of issues that seem more personal to me. If anyone else here somehow read all of this and has a similar feeling about this, please tell me if you'd like!
keep playing and learn to direct your self when dodging to counter you will get used it I had the same feeling and now I love this game. also fast falling is a huge part in adding wight to yourself.
@@TEExJAY24 Thanks man, I just kinda feeling the fact the side dodges complete cancel out your momentum makes them feel awkward for me to use, I think you're right though, I found smash wierd when I started playing it(though in a less nonsensical way) but loved it eventually, I just need to give this game so more time. Thanks for the encouragement!

You said you didn't like Velma that much after you bought her, but since the release of the early access you were able to practice as a character in The Lab before even having to purchase them 🤷
All Star Brawl made it so that there's no desire to test out new characters since they all play the same, instead actually having to search for your main.
Big Chungus is too…big to be a Bugs skin, the animations will be weird. it it’s more probable that big Chungus will be added as a taunt or maybe as a character

@@royhatcher7766 bro I totally agree! I went to go play my main, Jake, and was confronted with a purchase screen! Luckily I bought Tom & Jerry, and Garnet (highly recommend).

The best thing to ever come from smash Team Deathmatch is the infamous Wombo Combo
This is very true. It's easily one of the biggest aspects of multiversus that makes it stand out.
Exactly. As much as people love competitive 1v1s. A game is nothing without the casuals
Smash also has 2 on 2 though.
Tom and Jerry is such a unique character design it roped me into multiverses so much bc of how detailed that character alone is.
Every attack being an attempt at Jerry’s life is the chefs kiss of character design
It blows my mind that they make it look and feel like Tom and Jerry are fighting one another and that everybody else is just in the crossfire
Facts
Yeah, their animations are some of the coolest I've seen in fighting games.
I really really hope Multiversus doesnt fall off. The character variety is soooo fucking good. And God i really do think Walter White should be added, fans made title cards for him with some poison tech (ya know meth) added as his specials or perks I think.
Jesse, we need to beat up a cat and a rat
I mean it’s not a stretch to add him, they put in lebron who isn’t a fantasy/ cartoon character
They're adding Gizmo from Gremlins. This game already died...
THIS is how you can do a live service game correctly. Spending money is optional, but not at all necessary, and the core experience is very polished.
Stop stealing the thesis of my next video lmao

The amount of different characters with their fun differences is enough to make you want to play this game. I can't wait to see who they add in the future!
One little thing about movesets is the fact they are grounded and aerial versions, but they can change completely compared to Smash. You get more in a moveset with this type of idea. Steven can make a healing pool and overtime a Watermelon Steven appears as an ally and fights with you, but if you use his down special in the air he rides around on a shield
it’s Almost finished ua-cam.com/video/o154-q5cBT8/v-deo.html
Characters actually have less moves in this game.
A standard smash character will have:
Jab*, Ftilt*, Utilt*, Dtilt*, Fsmash, Usmash, Dsmash, Nair*, Fair*, Bair, Uair*, Dair*, SideB*, UpB*, DownB*, NeutralB*, Fthrow, Bthrow, Uthrow, Dthow, pummel, final smash.
@@cephery8482 thanks for the tldr cuz that wall of text looks intimidating
The movesets for all the characters are completely unique. Iron giant is a pacifist so all his attacks aren't really attacks, just scenes from the movie. Tom and jerry literally attack themselves to fight, now we got lebron with basketball and rick with portals.
I will say for the character "purchases", in practice and now local matches, you have access to the full roster, meaning you can experiment a bit when you get the coins before your choice
W gamemaking, this also means you can practice what to do against every character
Unfortunately you can't play both local, and online at once. That really kills the cake for me since I need to do both to play games like these more then 1v1 with family.
@@lightningpenguin8937 i was surprised when i found this out as well. they will probably add this soon.

Unlike brawlhalla, it is actually fun
@@egekazkayas8968 smash isn't bad

ts Honestly, I'm having a blast playing this game.
But those Batmans that only fight while their throw thing is thrown is so fucking annoying while being so fast too.)
All in all, I think it's gonna last for a good while, and if WB is smart and dives into the eSports scene with it as well, they're gonna be the #1 fighting game with ease, as Nintendo is more anti-community and eSports than anyone else.
Agree with all of this, especially the end! The game has a LOT of potential and it’s only in beta form!

Really well made video bro keep up the good work
In my opinion, these kind of “smash” games should be pushed toward those who loved smash growing up. Maybe? Hopefully? Seems like a great marketing model, F2P with battlebass in this type of game works imo
also the fact that the creators of Multiversus want to do more characters then just warner bro characters
@@luidace3236 No Fairly Odd Parents either.
You get coins for leveling up on each character. I think that adds money and encourages trying out every character
The game has been in beta for like 5 days I am sure that a month or two will add tons of things like character or season challenges, rank play, etc to help with the grind
It’s free to play tho so like why complain

@@davon4647 it's more so just an observation since this video was discussing it's longevity, I was just throwing my hat in the ring in what I see that's could be a problem for that.

Tom and Jerry fighting while everything else was just collateral damage from them is what sold me to the game.

Amazing video, I have faith that MVS will last for the long haul, as long as they add consistent content every month
But Nick has voice acting, items, and DLC characters now/coming out
I pray that this game doesn't die
fun fact: in multiversus's settings, there's a mature mode so you can listen to harley and the others cuss out their opponent

Brawl Stars is my favorite platform fighter.
8:45 but you can play as the character in the lab before you commit to buying them.
Awesome video btw
@@jazzy_burrito I agree. The game is too floaty compared to brawlhalla and smash however I just chalk it up to the game still being in beta
I’m sure the physics will improve
After learning how to play Velma. She is actually alot of fun.Completely different playstyle then the others.I get chill Vibes from her.Like if you need to just relax and not worry about brawling..she's your girl
I was skeptical on getting into multiversus since i have so many other games to play but this has convinced me to jump on the ship and give it a shot so thank you
good video I enjoyed it and subbed
In my opinion, the only problem with Multiversus is that it won't come out for Switch
Actually it will, it just won’t come out on release, it’ll take awhile. But the switch isn’t off the table yet
@@izukumidoriya7425 would it tho? It's the same gene as smash bros and this is Nintendo? I don't know much about the switch so I maybe wrong.
@@Eric2XD brawlhalla and rivals of aether are on switch
You said you didn't like Velma that much after you bought her, but since the release of the early access you were able to practice as a character in The Lab before even having to purchase them 🤷
Smash is smash for video game characters
Multiversus is smash for tv and movie characters
That's a beautiful analogy, multiversus is to smash, what bloodborne is to darksouls
All Star Brawl made it so that there's no desire to test out new characters since they all play the same, instead actually having to search for your main.
Hey you do know that you can try every character in the Lab before you need to buy them right?
In multiversus, you even get to try out the characters in the lab before purchasing, really cool concept
the first time i heard Estelle yell “Hold still, Stark!” i almost ascended
With the shaggy and LeBron meme getting in, you know they are going to add Big Chungus as a taunt ATLEAST
Give me chungus or give me death!
just a tip if you go to the lab you can try out any character even ones you haven't unlocked so you can get a feel for a character before you buy them
Big Chungus is too…big to be a Bugs skin, the animations will be weird. it it’s more probable that big Chungus will be added as a taunt or maybe as a character
Maybe as a taunt
The fact that you have to make a video titled: "why multiverse is not a smash clone" kind of tells you that it's definitely just a smash clone.
Great video man! 🔥
I gotta say tho to your point about buying characters you don’t end up liking, the game does allow you to play as anyone in lab mode so there is a way to test before you buy
