    Milena you have a new fan in France and sorry it's a 63 year old man... I discovered your incredible sport a year ago and am now an intermediate. Of course I love your tutorials. But I'll add a new compliment, Milena your diction is incredibly wonderful to understand for someone who is not fluent in English !!!!!

      Aww Thank you for the kind words. Yeah, I try to be as clear as I can because I‘m not a native speaker myself. But heyy, so glad to see a new addition to the male pole dance community. Your age doesn‘t surprise me either, I have many 50+ students. Still, big kudos to you for starting a sport at that age that‘s women-dominated. 🙏🏻

    I tried cross knee release today, I managed to do it twice but it hurts a lot. I hope I'll get used to it. It will take me a month probably to learn this whole choreo but it's worth it!
    Also I got one question, probably silly: have you thought about a video with a walking around the pole tutorial? I know it may seem like an easy thing but when I try to do it with grace and sexiness it just doesn't work at all 😂

    The leg hook kick to sit is definitely not a beginner move. You might want to consider a substitute for that move or make a tutorial for that too.

  • @mrsmuddycrocs6488
    @mrsmuddycrocs6488 2 роки тому

    I’ve learned the pressure points on the cross knee release is different than you mentioned. I tried to do this hold in too long of shorts and it didn’t work. A very important contact point that is not mentioned is the pole against both glutes while wearing short shorts.

    • @ThePoleDancer
      @ThePoleDancer 2 роки тому +1

      So, you mean the point where the pole is behind your bum/tailbone? You don‘t mean the thighs point, right?

    • @mrsmuddycrocs6488
      @mrsmuddycrocs6488 2 роки тому

      @@ThePoleDancer yes, I mean there’s 2 very important contact points holding you up in the pose. The first is the knee like you mentioned, the second contact point is the pole at the tailbone.
      I tried it in shorts, paying attention to the knee contact points you circle ⭕️. It really tore up the insides of my thighs. I changed to bikini bottoms and was able to do the pose because my glutes were able to grab on to the pole.
      I’m a visual learner, and I take special care to look at the contact points you circle ⭕️ they really help me see what to do, I think it would be extra helpful to note other contact points like the glutes to beginners who might not otherwise figure it out.

    • @ThePoleDancer
      @ThePoleDancer 2 роки тому +1

      @@mrsmuddycrocs6488 I understand. Thanks for your feedback! Really appreciate it.
      I agree partly. Here are my thoughts:
      There’s a hierarchy when it comes to contact points on the pole. In some moves there’s such thing like an anchor point (main one) - if you loose this point, you loose your entire grip and ALL other points on the pole. You will basically fall. Best case you’ll slide down, if you can engage the other points to grip enough.
      In the Cross Knee Release your leg hook is your anchor point. If you open your hook, you’ll likely fall down. Unless… and here comes the second important gripping part (less punctual), which goes all the way from the knee along the inside and back of your thighs. I’ll call this the thigh grip. Sometimes students have their upper thighs touching each other, but both knees are further apart. This will make them slide a little bit, because they’re relying on a smaller part of the upper thighs. If you however have both knees stacked - bottom knee directly under your hooked knee, you will engage your leg muscles more and you will have a bigger gripping part that goes all the way from the knees to the hips. This is what makes moves like the Cross Ankle Release possible.
      So, I would check the knees/thighs position.
      Now, would you have a better grip if you wear cut-out cheeky shorts, rather than ones that cover your bum? Maybe. Especially if the ones that cover your bum also cover a part of the thighs. But it really depends on how solid your main contact points are.
      If you’re sliding only because you have more fabric on your glutes (not thighs), please check your main contact points. The glutes are definitely not a contact point you can rely on. Quite the opposite. If you focus on your glutes, you’re shifting your attention away from what’s actually holding you on the pole.
      Your feedback is a good reminder though. You pointed out correctly that beginners don’t have their contact points strong and perfectly engaged right from the start. I will think of it in my future classes. Might be important to mention that cut-out shorts can give an additional grip.
