What an inspiring, hard-working, thoroughly decent human being. Successfully rose above the weasel who attempted to spoil things for him and produced an even better design in the process. Great attitude.

Wow! Unfrigging believable!!! I can only imagine that a person who has nothing better to do with their time than to tattle tale to the authorities about someone else’s greenhouse, a greenhouse, not a shed, barn, or house, but something as benign as a greenhouse, must be a very unhappy person. Good on you for not allowing it to take the wind out of your sails.
Wishing you all the best of luck with your health and wellness. 🙏💗

Wow you are a testament to what I’ve known a real Canadian to be, we do our best and when someone tries to screw with us we let them do whatever they think is right but in the end we don’t stoop to their level instead we hold our head up high and decide what we can do about it rather then let them think they have beaten us, a true Canadian cannot be beaten our spirit is true and strong and we will never give up we will just find another way!! You are an amazing role model for your son showing what it truly is to be a winner. I’m like you I can’t believe that there are actually people in this world that are soooo incredibly small minded as to report you for a building violation after learning you are going through everything that you are, it truly says more about them then it does about you. I think you are an incredibly smart man and whomever that person is I believe they will get theirs one day because I’m a firm believer in what comes around goes around and all that negativity is going to go back on him ten fold! I live in Ontario and was thinking if that had happened here there would have been a number of people that would have gotten together on a Saturday and helped you complete it. I was happy to learn that you had that kind of help from one of your shipmates.
I think the end result will be an incredible green house and I’m so glad you didn’t give up....never give up!🙏🏻🥰🇨🇦

Some people really are a waste of oxygen. Your build looks awesome, sorry you have to deal with that nonsense. I had a thousand keyboard warriors tell me my home build wasn't up to code and will be torn down, but I had been back and forth with the inspector since the beginning, so joke's on them. Either way, it's not a great feeling putting time and effort into videos for people and getting threatened as a result! Good on you for deciding to simply cut it in 2. I was thinking the same when you mentioned it and thinking back on the timeline. Some people have no humanity, compassion or the capability of minding their own business. The building is sturdy and well built and the materials are just as good as the lumber you'd have bought in the shop, with the bonus of being upcycled. Some people in this world are always going to be jealous bullies and try to to ruin other people's time to get some sick thrill in their miserable little lives.
The silver lining is that you got experience and had a project to keep you busy during a difficult time and now you have a cute time lapse of your family doing an activity together, plus your son got some muscles out of that workout.
If it means anything, your channel came about when I was looking for easily breaking up pallets and how to work/build with them. I don't know if it was that or the gardening that did it for the algorism, but I have learned about both from you. If it wasn't for you I probably would have gotten rid of the stones I dug instead of washing them and realizing I could save a lot of money in my landscaping haha
You have a great day, keep your great attitude. You're a great example for your son and others

Is wood not a building material dose the government's not want us to recycle. Most of the pallets I have seen and used in industry are made of hard woods or spruce. They should give you a commadation for recycling keeping all those pallets out of the landfill. I am new to your channel and like your info on gardening

If you haven't started taking down the back half yet, might I suggest that you disconnect the front and back halves, leaving a space between the 2 parts, then wall in the ends, adding doors to each? You can have 2 greenhouses back to back, right? Just leave a space between them. Yah, the rat is unbelievable.

I love your greenhouse! Wow, the NS Government needs to reevaluate their guidelines. For one thing, you can’t even tell you used pallets. It looks beautiful and structurally sound. And it’s environmentally friendly. I like to think our province is full of kind and friendly people but I guess there are trolls everywhere.

yes you are right , but i have found throughout my life people in government positions rarely show flexibility. But let's keep on the positives, I love my greenhouse too, so I shall spend the summer getting it even nicer :)

Just take out one section about halfway down the length of the building. Make two separate buildings with a viable door in each one, so you can walk from one to the other fairly easily. After zoning and building code people are done messing with you, build a little passway from one building to the other. Push the envelope, and tell the snitch to mind their own biznez.
Wrote my comment before watching the whole thing. You've already sorted it all out. Cheers.

I've been cutting up the pallets I'm getting, sanding and painting the wood in prep for making a fence. It's a lot more work than just using the pallets for a fence but my goal for the fence to not have it look like it was made with pallets, even if the materials come from that. I live in a town and worry about stuff like this too. Good luck saving what you can of the structure.

I am going to do a nice fence with pallet slats like you are doing. It is a lot of work but will be worth it 😀

I am sooo sorry. What a snit! Please do keep your spirits up. In the day and age of climate change, one would think that using pallets as a resource and not cutting down MORE trees would be high on the list...but I guess not!. Someone once told me "some people just have bad lives" and I think that's true here. Keep up the work and the great videos. I know you'll find the right answer and walk forward, maybe not with a smile, but you'll do what needs doing.

Sorry about that. Our town limit is 10’x10’ for not requiring a permit. Foolishness, as nothing states a limit as to how many no-permit structures we can have as long as they’re 20’ from a property line. Thank you for everything- I’m trying your technique of dahlia propagation by cuttings right now 👍🏽🌸🌸

Great idea on the water. I don't think I will have time this summer but maybe Oct and Nov time I can do something similar, but my main use for the water is to gravity feed it to a stainless sink counter I want to turn into my washing up/ potting area. I'm in Scotland so no much need to collect rain water, but since I am putting in a wee pond at some point, it'll be nice to have declorinated water at hand in case it starts drying a bit. The frogs would probably appreciate it and hopefully start doing their thing in the pond, rather than the water lilly planter I forgot two years ago and now every time I go to clean it or separate the lilies, I can't because I don't want to disturb the frogs....

I am so very sorry this happened to you. Some people are so miserably unhappy... they have to try to make others feel the same. They get a high from the ability to troll peoples lives not just online but in their real life too. Your cool and collect way of handling it takes that power away from them, so good on you.
