Jessie Holley is a player that will be remembered for a long time, he was a long shot to make the team yet he made the team. Not only did he make the team but he helped the team win through pure effort and hard work. Jessie Holley is a man, Jessie Holley put all that he had on the line for the Dallas Cowboys.
I live in Dallas and Jessie is occasionally on the local sports radio as a partial co-host. From the way he talks, you'd think he had a 20 year hall of fame career. But in reality, this catch was pretty much half his career stats.
I know! I would listen to him also. He said megatron Calvin Johnson wasn't a hall of famer. I thought who the f#!k are you? Well he' still a spare unknown obscure receiver no one remembers and Calvin Johnson is a member of the HALL OF FAME!!!!
This is definitely the most underrated game in the Cowboys vs 49ers saga. This wasn’t just any 49ers team too, this was the Jim Harbaugh led 49ers, a team that would appear in the conference game 3/4 years he coached. Tony Romo also had a fractured rib in the second quarter then came back in the fourth which led us this moment here.
chills, goosebumps everything just WOW, i remember going absolutely insane watching this game. So happy for jesse holley getting his chance, he deserves the 3rd WR spot he made the most out of his opportunities give him a chance
@@ryanr4156 and how many of those "come from behind wins" came in the post season? Winning in September is different from winning in January. More pressure. Romo chocked everytime.
I presume your team won this one...? The G-Men are not going to win everything this year, though, it will be next. 2015: the four year rule will come into effect. What rule? The harmony of the fourth year. Every fourth year, with a SB winning QB on the team, we repeat. It has not failed.
vincekenobi was at the DMV office on Friday and a guy walks in with his Romo jersey and Cowboys hat and some people were giving him a hard time etc.. The guy turns around and says "stick and stones may break my bones, but your Whining words will never hurt me". I just thought that shit was funny as hell.
Holley actually had a great attitude but was marginal in talent, he was used for a couple of years by Dallas as a special teamer because of his high motor play, but only got on the field as a WR due to injuries to other recievers. Unfortunately he won't be back as a Cowboy this year but he will always have this game to remember.
Jesse Holley is underrated like shit. Why don't we put him out there more often and let some of our starting WRs rest for a play or two during regulation. He made some pretty wicked catches including the circus catch against the Titans in preseason in '09 and this clutch overtime catch and run setting up the game winning FG. btw I believe he hasn't dropped the single ball this season.
Holley would be a great rotation on the slot. He ALWAYS comes up HUGE whenever we need him to. Not to mention, on Special Teams he's fucking phenomenal.
I cant find it, bit in a preseason game against the Vikings he scooped up a punt that was rolling with six Vikings around it and took it 82 yards to the house. I loved that he knew he was the longest of longshots, so he better make something happen.
Im a giants fan, but Romo is underrated. Everybody shits on the guy, but the fact of the matter is, if he had a better O-line and a defense that could stop someone, they'd be contenders instead of the jokes they are now
You have to feel for Jesse Holley in this game. He wins a last chance spot on the team through that reality show Michael Irvin hosted, is basically "Mr. Irrelevant" for most of the season, then comes through with the biggest play of his life when opportunity finally knocked. By the way....does anyone know what happened to him? I noticed he wasn't on the team this year.
I don't think so. I just watched another vid of Holley being extremely gracious/ thankful for the opportunity- thanks to Michael Irvin's 4th & 10 show. I think it's more that he might not be up to the same level as the competition in the tryouts in camp. Pats are giving him a chance to compete for a role right now. We'll see. I can't imagine him beating out Brandon Lloyd, Jabar Gaffney, Donte Stallworth and Deion Branch, let alone Wes Welker and rookie Jeremy Ebert.
Great play, but Holley really shouldn't have reached out the ball like that at the end. That was so close to being a fumble-out-the-end-zone, touchback-for-San-Francisco situation.
You can’t be a receiver in the nfl and get walked down with a big ass head start like that. Didn’t even really break stride for the catch and still got caught
haha oh yeah. also vs 49ers. Where Irvin switched spots on the field hoping to get the ball thrown to him and because it was a blitz, Aikman threw it to Harper. lolol
Why couldn't sign Robinson because we had to worry about Brandon Carr to replace old Terence Dickman. No idea why we let sticky fingers go. I've never seen him drop a pass.
Yeah, I know. You missed it too. And if you saw more white and blue than red in that clip then knowing what sarcasm is would be the least of your worries....
Irvin presented the Cowboys with a reality TV show winner, while he played hard Jessie Holley didnt have the athleticism to play in the NFL longer than he did.
You missed all that red in the stands? The logo on the field? Or were you confused by all those screaming fans cheering Holley as he streaked down the field to set up the winning FG?
Cowboys fans should know all about fans showing up in the tens of thousands to away games... Just look up Saints Vs Cowboys 2010. Who Dat Nation was there in full force.
Nobody talks about how Andrew Hawkins was also on 4th and long. Had a better career than Holley. Remember he scored on a kick return drill with no blockers on the show lol
In terms of Robinson, we had bigger needs in free agency and we couldn't afford to give him a bigger contract, I'm sad that we let Holley go but the NFL is a business so it's the usual.
Actually corner is the fastest position on the field (defense). Holley is just slow. If Dez Bryant or Miles Austin caught that, they would've been gone.

Romo is one of the best play-action QBs in the NFL. He used his eyes to fool the defense here, that fake was brutal, completely deceived both safeties

Glad you made this critical catch. Who would of thought right? But man he was 5-10 yards past the defender after the catch and he still got caught!!!!
