I like Victory lapping the pit better because I like leveling up, besides you gain clear bonuses as well with the pit. Skipping 50 floors with 300 coins is very worth it
A fast way that I found is to buy gold bars underneath Rogueport for 110 coins a piece and sell them on the train for 130 coins a piece. So if you bought 20 of them and sold them on the train, that's a 400 coin profit in a span of 5 minutes. Note: This is for the Switch version only as they only sell for 100 coins in the GameCube version.
dont mind trips? buy a bunch of SINGLE gold bars.. single is more effective. at the train shop, each bar gives you a 20 coin profit!! and each tripple bar also gives you a 20 coin profit. hence single bars are better. with a full inventory, you can make 300 coins per trip and even more if you use shop storage systems
Hmm...I'm starting to consider finding an excuse to use all the consumable items on me by the time I reach Chapter 6; as of writing, I'm about to start Chapter 5 and my inventory is likely more than half full...
The only thing to keep in mind: you will heal to full HP when you do this That's because each train trip requires you to rest until you either each Riverside Station again (if you ever need to go back there) or either destination (Rogueport/Poshley Heights) It's not a huge deal, it's really just if you're at 1 HP for Mega Rush strats or something, so you'll just have to do that again That said, this back and forth with the Gold Bars is pretty profitable, and there's a nice little loop (Deepdown Depot -> one room right -> one room down -> fast travel room -> Poshley Heights -> the train two screens away -> do your business -> back to West Rogueport -> back down the grate -> back to the Depot, repeat)
Assuming no changes from the original Yes item hog does affect badge drops. HOWEVER when the game rolls for random drops it only rolls for the enemy in front. So the odds are always 2/300 regardless if theres 1 or 5 boos Also the game does 2 rng rolls 1 to determine if theres a drop at all and then another for what kind of drop you get the actual odds are closer to 1/1000 with item hog on.
Alternatively: farm the spicy matching game. I win on the star about 4/5 times by following the Piantas that flash by. On the first row just wait until you see the two Don Piantas surrounding a Pow Block and click half a second after the second Pianta flashes by and you _should_ hit the Star’s top. On the second row wait until you see two Don Piantas two spaces apart and hit A once the second one reaches the middle and you should land on the Star’s middle. On the last one just wait for the Star’s bottom to flash by and count the Piantas as they fly by and click when the 4th one gets to the centre of the row. Do this for about 10~ish minutes and you should have more than enough for at *least* one Money-Money badge. If you’re efficient at it anyway, it took me a solid few attempts before I was able to do it consistently.
Danger Mario. By never upgrading Mario’s hp and reducing it to 5 using a character in the sewers, you can equip tons of Power Rush badges since they increase attack once Mario hits 5 hp. Since Mario is permanently at 5 now, it means all the equipped power rushes activate and pile on more and more damage increase to Mario’s attacks.
This is my method of earning money fast. After beating the game and reaching number one rank in glitz pit again, just spam fight Rawk Hawk. It’s a build in Paper Mario. It’s called, “ Danger Mario. “ Basically you have 5 health and you get farm for these badges at the Pianta Parlor called Power Rush. These badges increase Mario’s attack power by 2 if he’s at 5 health or lower. You equip other badges making it much harder for the enemies to hit you while at low Health. How are you doing so much damage per jump? I’m level 31 and beat the main game and the Pit of 100 Trials and I still only do like 7 damage

Wouldn't the first attack badge help? Considering youre overleveled against these enemies.
I really wish that badge actually worked in the pit
you dont get the coins/the badges so it essentially defeats the purpose of even fighting these enemies
It usually yields only 1 coin upon instantly defeating those enemies on the map instead of the battle section.
Wait the max cap for bp is 99?
Always has been...
(In TTYD, that is. In PM64, it's capped at 30.)
