Wow I've never been in to alarm clocks, but this one is special. First of all I really like how it has thick brass plates as compared to modern movements. Second, I was surprised to find out it's an 8 day clock. Last but not least is the Geneva stop - this was definitely an expensive clock when it came out! Top of the line.
Seems a tad more complicated than your basic mantel clock. Made an offer on one of these ~1890 with a bi-metal balance behind glass because that looks neat to me. 🙂 I love skeletonized watches and so forth. I'm fascinated by gears and such! So being able to see this move behind the glass is a great thing to me.
Well done! . . . Beautiful service to a beautiful clock. Relieved that the owner found correct glass. I am surprised at the quantity of lantern pinions.
It's nice the owner was able to locate some glass. Also, kind of funny they made some fake jewels back then. I have a "Swiss Fake" pocket watch that is filled with them.
Moltes felicitats Master!!, aprenc molt de vostè, fa els videos molt entenedors per als aficionats a la rellotgeria; no pari siusplau de fer més videos. Per cert, quin oli fa servir per aquets rellotges?,moltes gràcies.

Wonderful job as always. But that is a beautiful piece, definitely worthy of your craft.
I agree, I hope the owner ends up polishing and clear coating the case.

Yes it is a nice looking clock.
When new the case had all gold plating on the outside.
But now, its all worn off, only the brass is left to look at.

There's actual quite a long history of fake jewels being used in the watch industry.
I run into them from time to time.

Utilitzo oli de rellotge de moebius sintètic.
Qualsevol olis de rellotge sintètic funcionarà.

Mister Martín, I wonder if you are one of the last true professional watchmakers still left in this world?
There are a few of us still out here, but getting less every year.
