- I cannot describe what I'm feeling right now. Growing up as a fan of Classic Rock, and being a die hard Lynyrd Skynyrd fan, I'm in pieces. Tuesday's Gone was the first song I ever heard, and it instantly became my favorite song ever written. I'm younger than a lot of their fans, I wasn't even born until after the tribute tour, so I wasn't able to actually see them in their prime, but I'm a HUGE fan of them regardless. I threw this together, letting Gary have all the spotlight. He's finally with his Skynyrd brothers, meeting Ronnie, Ed, Allen, all of the boys again. Gary, you will be missed by millions of fans across the globe, but never forgotten. #lynyrdskynyrd #garyrossington #music

I met Gary Rossington in Maine back in 2002. He was an amazing person with piercing blue eyes and a strong Southern accent along with great Southern Pride. Gary, Hughie and Ricky signed my Made in the USA 1997 Fender Strat that I will cherish for eternity. It was one of the best days of my life, 2nd only to the Birth of my God sent Daughter. RIP Brother in Christ.

If anything Bruce Springsteen and Aerosmith (One of my all time favorites) should be called "Northern Rock" and the Beatles should be "British Rock" or better yet "Foreign Rock" So... you can just GTHOH with that ignorant stupidity... Seeing the news of Gary's passing really hit me hard this morning. Truly a legendary member of a legendary band. So glad I got to see him play live a couple times. Rest in Peace Gary and thank you for the music!

Man rolled a ton of joints for Gary and Allen at Marryweather Post Pavilion in Columbia MD back in the day,both are the best,can still roll those one handed logs,you are missed my friends,God bless.

I still remember the day I dropped the needle on gold and platinum, was probably 1980. It changed my life as far as music went. I was hooked, instantly. The music was timeless. There are only 4 bands that I can say this about. Every song on every album was genius. Skynyrd was one of those four bands. RIP Gary, you touched so many souls with your music that you will live on forever.

It's hard to put into words how much an influence on my musical youth that Gary and the boys had on me.I loved Them from the first time I heard them.Being from Detroit, my influences were not southern rock but I really liked The no frills rowdy style they had.Ronnie was the genius that put it all together but I don't think he could have done ot without Gary,Allan and Ed.I hope Gary is jamming right now with his musical partners in rock and roll heaven. Thanks for the music, Gary, and fly on free bird.

Although Simple Man is my favorite and what I consider 'my song' Tuesday's Gone was also one of the songs I loved most by Lynyrd Skynyrd. I was fortunate enough to have seen the original band three times back in the day and even though I saw many bands perform Lynyrd Skynyrd was always the one I looked forward to seeing the most. It is with a very heavy heart that I say, Rest in Peace Gary, but know your music will live on forever.

Knowing he’s had heart problems this doesn’t come as a shock. More like a cannon ball through my heart. Skynyrds music has been a major part of my lifes musical landscape as long as I can remember. And to know that this sweet man who wrote the most memorable and loved slide guitar melody is gone is a fact of life I will grapple with for a while. My prayers go out to his beautiful wife and family.

My alarm was a radio alarm. the first thing I heard was lynyrd skynyrds plane had crashed I was 16 years old went duck hunting that day. I had a good day, but one of my favorite bands did not.
