Dickey, Jaimoe, Jack Pearson, Dickey's son Duane, Berry Oakley's son, Berry Jr., Mark Quinones next year 2023 are supposed to tour as Allman Family Revival. Dickey is finally ready to play again. You guys are playin' they will be playin' . Life gets interrupted sometimes but then you get back to where you belong.

    I've always loved all the Lynyrd Skynyrd music, but didn't know the history until recently. After hearing all the stories and interviews, i feel like I knew all these guys and i just love to hear Gary talk. He seems just like someone ive known my whole life. I would love the opportunity to sit and listen to some of his stories.

      I'll be 64 this September and pretty much have been a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan ever since I heard Sweet Home Alabama on AM radio back in the early 70s.
      And then car mechanics truck and I ended up being stationed in Jacksonville Florida while I was in the Navy during the 80's and ran into those guys all different times at all different places! Also including guys from Molly Hatchet & .38 Special too!

    God Bless Gary Rossington and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Sure the band might not even be close today to what it was when we all came to love and know them, but you got to give this old southern dog a bone. He’s seen it all and is still breathing to tell the stories and keep living the dream they all envisioned long ago. When you hear him talk it’s almost like your sitting there with a grandparent or something. Thank god for people like this that are still alive today, there won’t be people like him around forever. Cherish them while we still have them. This man is REAL.

    For Lynyrd Skynyrd to come together in the way they did is an amazing story in itself. Many come from the same family. Or individual's whom are brought up in families who are tied to the industry in one form or another. They are also brought up in church singing. Or performing at a very young age. These guy's from the same community met at the local ballpark we all grew up around in our communities in the 60's and 70's. To put this together in Jacksonville and be from the same neighborhood. Same school. Is highly unlikely in any profession. To make it to the heights and success that they experienced is a great story. Wish they ALL could have made it the entire ride. Regardless they are ALL part of the legacy that will endure the test of time!! My high school year's were from 75-79 in southeast Louisiana. 70 miles from Baton Rouge. We were going to that concert at Tiger stadium. Thanks for continuing the great music, Skynyrd family. To all, thanks for making us smile. R.I.P.

    My husband and I are big fans of Lynard Skynard, and my husband had been stationed in Jacksonville, Fl. in the Navy. He took me to the original burial site in 1983. The feeling and the vibe was just amazing. There was so much energy there it gave me goosebumps. I was just frozen for a bit, letting that all sink in. I can't understand the insanity of whoever decimated those graves. Just makes me sick, it was a very almost sacred place to be.

    I wish somebody could get this message to Gary: Life is short. I think a lot of us fans would like to see you and Artimus Pyle make peace. God forgives us of all our wrongs. Don't look at the past or who did what. In the long run, it just doesn't matter. You all, the old-time Skynrd, has a special magic and I think for that reason alone, it would be beautiful for you both to think only of now and the future, and hug each other on stage. To even do a song together would be icing on the cake. But, you should be brothers again. Doesn't mean you gotta hang out all the time, just at peace with each other. If for no other reason, do it for the fans.

      Thats good, maybe Gary Rossington still has them then, eh ? I heard him say that because the landing gear was down, and hit the tops of the tree's, that the plane went "...into a nose-dive, and all the instruments and stuff in the back of the plane landed on top of everyone in the front of the plane.", is why I asked.

    • @takmagic777
      @takmagic777 5 років тому +2

      Yes, Gary still has his famed "Bernice" '59 Les Paul from back then...it's in the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio. Allen's Gibson Explorer is on loan to the Hall of Fame as well and is owned by his eldest daughter. The guys might have had a couple acoustics on the plane to strum on during the flight, but not much else. They had a total of 26 people on the plane between the band and crew. The stuff they mention that came flying up front was stereo equipment...back then, big stereos and speakers were the thing. Getting hit in the head with one of those wooden speaker cabinets would definitely do some serious damage...especially coming at someone with full force.

    why didnt he mention gene odem in the crash

    • @ObsidianFlyStudios
      @ObsidianFlyStudios 5 місяців тому

      Should go watch the interview with gene in the cemetery. As any band there was a dark side to many things. Gene and Gary probably didn’t care much for each other after events that took place after the crash announced In that interview. Ronnie didn’t trust Gary and Gary probably had some animosity to Ronnie as when Ronnie was drunk him and Gary got into many fist fights. Ronnie on a drunkard night also cut up Gary’s hands and said he was going to make it to where he could never play guitar again. As well Ronnie told Gary to fly home the next day with no apology for that. That probably built up a lot of tension at the moment for the things that happened in the future. God bless their music though and I hope they can finally figure out everything now together in the afterlife. RIP to these legends.
