- I was a year old when Frank Beckmann took over broadcasting duties for Michigan football, so he's the only radio voice I have known. His voice saying, "Touchdown Michigan!," will always bring a smile to me face.
This is every Beckmann play call I could find in my video collection. - Спорт
Frank will define any future Michigan announcer. A brilliant and exciting voice to listen to. RIP Frank- we miss you.
RIP Mr. Beckmann. You were a great voice for Michigan football. Never will forget his calls for Michigan on fall Saturdays
Miss this voice a lot. Would have been great to go with this 2023 championship.
R.I.P. I was too young to remember Ufer, Beckmann is the voice of Michigan football for me.
I turned the tv volume down and listened to this man
This guy and Keith Jackson. The good old days.
Ufer was my childhood but Beckmann was the voice I'll remember when I think about Michigan football, along with Keith Jackson and Brandstatter. Thanks for the memories Frank and God Bless you as you make your final road trip. Say hi to Ufer for me.
This man defined my Saturday afternoons in the fall for years. Listening to Michigan football will never be the same.
He had the burden of following a broadcasting legend and became one himself. RIP
Beckman on the radio while watching tv……..unreal
Back when the broadcasts were in real time
As a MSU fan I always enjoyed Frank's voice. I remember listening to him while tailgating at MSU games or coming home from games. Frank Beckmann and Ernie Harwell bring back so many great memories over the years. RIP Frank. Your voice will always be remembered for UofM football.
rip
Man, these are the good ol days! Frank was the best! Brandy doesn't even come a little bit close.
It was a Saturday afternoon I'd never listen to Michigan radio for football TV didn't show the game that day so frantically I tuned to every station and then wham WJR 760 when he said Touchdown Michigan it sent goosebumps all up and through.
Simply awesome. Come back Frank...PLEASE!!!
He died today.
R.I.P
FRANK YOU WHERE ONE OF THE BEST
RIP, his voice will live on
RIP Frank
7:49 Polish off the Heisman!!! Awesome quote!
Great post. Thanks for the memories Mr. Beckmann. A key voice in the soundtrack of my childhood. Forever a Michigan Man.
“Shades of Desmond Howard!”
RIP MR BECKMANN!
who can also remember that Frank Beckmann besides being the voice of Michigan football; also called games for the Detroit Tigers (MLB) and the Detroit Lions (NFL)
I CAN! THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, FRANK BECKMAN!
RIP Frank. He was a good one.
Whoever takes over next season has some HUGE shoes to fill. Its nearly impossible to follow a legend sucessfully - Beckmann did that after Bob Ufer passed away. I can't imagine the pressure when following a legend who followed a legend...certainly an unenviable task.
I always loved Bob Ufer and Frank Beckmann! Great job on the tribute! And best wishes in your retirement, Frank! Thanks for the memories! GO BLUE! BEAT KSU!
RIP GOOD SIR
You missed one...his call of Henne to Manningham in the 2007 MSU game.
I'm thinking of Henne to Manningham vs Penn State
@@area.man. BOTH.
They stopped the clock Jim!!
What was the game at the 9:00 mark?
I find the lack of Denard Robinson on this unfortunate.
"Shoelaces flopping in the wind"
8:30 the DH catch
Do you by any chance have the game where Beckman and Brandy cracked up on the air during a Northwestern blowout?
LetsPlayPC No, I don't have that game but the video of them cracking up is on UA-cam. I've seen it.
Great Vid!!! No Shoelace call???
If my comment shows twice, I apologize. Anyone know what game/year was being played at the 9:00 mark of the vid?
That was 2002 Washington - Phil Brabbs' game-winning kick.
@@edmerc92 just watched the “no huddle” game of it
Do you have a version that doesn't have that random music in the background?
Phoenix99155 Most of these calls were from _Michigan Replay._
As much as I can't stand him being a right-wing bigot, he'll still be a Michigan legend.
Say whattttt?
@@gcuddy7991 He left broadcasting because of controversy after he made incredibly racist comments on his radio show
A Gaytheist Thanks for the info Bro
