Chris Perry exemplified in this game what it means to leave it all on the field. Towards the end of the game, he could barely pick himself up off the ground. I never forgot this game and always wanted to see it again in its entirety. Thanks for posting!
Wow. This truly was the last time an elite Michigan team beat an elite OSU team. It makes me cry that this was 17 years ago and we haven't replicated this result sincd. :-(
This game still stands as Michigan's most recent win vs. a *good* Ohio State team. I was there that day. I'll never forget it. But damn, it'd sure be nice to make some new memories, and soon!
+MichiganGamer24 “MichiganGamer24 Gaming” No, not really. Go back and check the record for Ohio State that year. That was definitely a down year for them. They finished the season with a 6-7 record, and lost their last four games of the season, including a bowl game loss to Florida. They actually lost to Purdue that season, so you know it was a bad year.
If it makes you feel any better, OSU has only beaten 2 good Michigan teams since this game. (2006 and 2016) Both were at Ohio by the slimmest of margins.
OSU was on probation in 2011. Jim Tressel was fired not too long before the season started and they used an interim coach. They did make a bowl game but they were not a "good" OSU team. 2012 was Urban Meyer's first year and they went undefeated even though they weren't bowl eligible.
Great video and memories. Perry was a beast, Edwards a dagger, and Stevie Breaston was a can of excitement. LeSueur, Shazor, and Pierre Woods played great on D. Starting the next year OSU won 15 of the next 16 (Ouch!) until the current era.
Hey. Nice to share ideas on the rivalry with you. I have to agree with you. Tressel brought OSU up to a higher level than Cooper' s consistently under-achievers. Harbaugh is a great coach, but it's going to be tough as long as Meyer rules the roost in Columbus.
Lloyd Carr resigned, didn't get fired. However, I do think he received pressure to retire. I would say the Tressel hire was when the tide changed though, not when Carr resigned. I know the tide is bound to change again sooner or later, or at least even out. But I definitely hope it's sooner.
I don’t know why more people don’t bring up the cheating that OSU did during the Tressel years. It totally negates the games during the Tressel tenure (for me). Lloyd’s recruiting was not up to standards, but the UM teams were not garbage. OSU used the “Cheat Code” and ,unfortunately, it worked.
@@opitz30 lol. Start acting like a Michigan man and quit blaming others. Let me guess: you didn't attend the University of Michigan?! LMAO to fake fans like you.
@@robertford5195 Please enlighten me. Which reality are you expecting me to accept (your comment/reply is a little confusing)? And why would you peg me as a Sparty? Your logic, or lack thereof, is killing me. State was actually able to beat OSU more than we did during the Tressel tenure. I'm just trying to keep it real man. Carr was a good X's and O's coach, but his recruiting... the cupboard was bare by the time he resigned. And as far as the cheating goes, Ohio cheated. That is a fact, Jack! Not even Tressel himself can deny that.

Much of the 2023 national championship team was born this year.
Here it is 2024, we’ve beaten OSU 3 straight years and Michigan is the College Football National Champion. Go Blue
Yupe yupe go blue
Thank you for posting! This is awesome! The good 'old days!

I don't think we'll have to worry much longer

Man, Frank Beckman was awesome at play-by-play.
A lot of people knock him for not being like Ufer, but I like and miss Frank. He was good.
Frank was great. Brandstatter and Dierdorf are…not. Looking forward to Karsch & Jansen taking over in 2022.
@@MrDuneedon Not a fan of Karsch. Nothing against the guy, his voice is just grating

So great to see this historic game from a Michigan perspective. GO BLUE!
As a Buckeye fan, hats off to you guys. The Maize and Blue were jacked for this one.
I was so fukd up at this game. GO BLUE!
It's been far too long since we've won the Big Ten. Go Blue!
A tip: you can watch movies on flixzone. I've been using it for watching all kinds of movies recently.
@Alijah Franklin Definitely, I've been watching on flixzone for months myself :)
We got a w this yr.

GREAT Game and GREAT DAY for any UM WOLVERINE.

A GAME TO REMEMBER
Anybody know what happen with Michigan next game after this? #Fight On!
They were beaten by the best that year. You guys should've faced LSU and Michigan should've faced Oklahoma. Frickin' BCS.
The tide had yet to turn on the Rivalry. I think it fully changed when they fired Lloyd Carr.

Don't get what the big deal about this game is
The raising of Old Glory combined with our national anthem triggered many a liberal.
How could they Buckeyes lose the 100th game! NÒOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
