Great great lesson. I need to watch this again and again to make sure I don't just chalk this up to another interesting idea. This feels much more foundational to evolving as a musician.
Great lesson! This definitely unlocked something for me in terms of starting a half beat early. Another cool idea would be exploring how Jerry uses scale patterns. For example he will speed up and slow down, stop and reverse and play two patterns in a line. Also he seems to have a vast vocabulary of scale patterns to choose from and he uses them to fill space before landing on a chord tone. Always wondered where he found them all or how he came up with them.
Hey Jack, love and appreciate your videos, man can you play!! I dont know if you know him but theres another online teacher i follow Michael Palmisano- he is releasing a course for online teachers, basically all the positives and negatives hes made in the past 10 years doing this on youtube! May be worth checking out, i love your content man just cant believe theres only 3k of us watching!!!! Take care brother
Hey Jack. My friend and I are sorry we missed your office hours but we didn't know about them. He's on the west coast and I'm on the east so we can't jam in person anymore. He's a big Dead fan too. I thought it be fun for us to attend office hours together. Can you please let me know when you'll do office hours again? Thanks!
Hey! I’m sorry you missed. I don’t have a planned time for them. Hit the bell and you’ll get a bite when I do the next one…I hope you can join. They’re available to watch after the video renders.

Jack, you’re on fire lately! Really enjoying these general tips and tricks videos to complement the more song-specific GD lessons
Thanks Ben!
I appreciate the feedback
The master coming in hot, love to see this stuff. Great as always, Doctor Divine Devine!!

Yeah! That’s the whole lesson in a nutshell.
I probably should have gotten to it a little faster!

Cool, thanks!
Love this. I used to have a college professor that called it “offset”. Offsetting the starting place of your initial rhythmic idea.
Yes…great term😊

I’m impressed with Michael’s success! We have different skills and styles of teaching.
