That is some really great quality! Awesome transfer! The camera guy on stage has an Arriflex 16 BL film camera. Top notch! Would love having the complete footage on DVD!
This Is from the legendary Ragnarock festival at Holmenkollen ski jumping arena in Oslo 1973. There's an DVD/2-CDbox available from Universal named Ragnarock 73'. You can order It from cdon.com
In some ways 'Summertime' was a disaster for Ray Dorset - I mean, I bet he's not complaining about the pension for life it must represent.... but in some ways it has got him so stereotyped as a 70s pop star that everyone has forgotten that Mungo Gerry were a bloody great Blue Rock outfit :-o I hope the session he did with Peter Green and Vincent Crane is released one day, should be amazing!
The old timers always go on about how much better their drugs and music was than today lol wouldn't think it, crowd looks boring as hell, should be given it laldy !!!
0:50 epic pra mim a melhor época pena que eu não vivi nos anos 1970 e vivo agora, perdi a melhor fase das musicas e melhores banda que já existiram tipo the doors e outras mais e esse video é muito bom !
I dont think that live shows died in the 70s. I think it happened more towards the beginning of 2000 end of 97 ish. Music in general died when we as an audience continually accepted the mainstream approach to devolve music into a stage show that requires diamond swans, fire spewing unicorns, 50 background dancers, auto-tune, midgets with hats and canes dancing underwater....like....what the fuck did we let them do? There are a few decent bands still...but thats another story.
Did he just sing about rape? Really? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA the original Marshall Mathers here. Imagine that shit nowadays. Its like a window to what society used to be versus where its sensitive ass is now. Imagine 2013 "Mungo Jerry glorifies rape on stage and then tells the girls in the audience to have sex, news at 9!"
Music "evolved" into a steaming pile of goat shit to the point that even on an album some of the "artists" admit that theyre not gonna be around in a year or so. When you incorporate the longevity of your career into lyrics as a joke the industry is in fucking trouble. Keep your mainstream fluff. I find new inventive underground shit all the time. The best shit out there isnt on a Billboard its in a back room.
Mungo Jerry, the most underrated band ever. Pure enjoyable fun time engery.
Simply great. I‘m enjoying this one with my father so much. Mungo‘s rockin‘ it!
Рок 🎸 навсегда здорово 👍
One of the greatest bands ever to hit the stage bar none.

That's when music was real.

Yeah really..i noticed that with peter tosh vids and other singers..how can they just sit, i for 1 would be up dancing, enjoying the show
Согласен только с одним. Настоящая музыка умерла в 70х.
Ай да Пушкин, ай да сукин сын!
100% false statement. i wish people like you would just realize music evolves just as it did in the 70's(HINT: it never stops evolving).
Hehehehe
