  • Sofyan Amrabat is currently Manchester United's best defensive midfielder. In this video, I highlight the reasons why INEOS and Erik Ten Hag should definitely turn Sofyan Amrabat's loan into a permanent deal this summer.

      Traditionally good players who come from another league have always struggled with Premier League football, especially at a Club like Man U, where we play such high risk football that can only be backed by good players behind the ball. Yesterday, I saw great transitional and 1-2 plays. The team would have 3 players around them and still manage to create space and pass. What a pleasure to watch that. Every game I will take it. Amrabat, Fernandes, Mainoo, almost every player on the pitch was pretending to be the player we bought them for.

      Yeah lets just spunk 15 million for somebody who is 27, showed that he has problems dealing with intensity, wasn't able to reproduce his passing numbers in our league and isn't the bulldog people depicted him like. Spunk 15 million on somebody whose two best games have been a deserved loss against Arsenal and a lucky win against Newcastle United who created chances in numbers and quality to score 5 or 6 times. Even the "last ditch tackle" was more Newcastle screwing up than Amrabat being otherworldly. I'll give him that he didn't make a mistake but an easy first time pass vom Isaak and two people are clear in front of our goal. We paid 10 million for this transfer to be a loan. To not be stuck with a player in case he isn't really up to the task. Some fans just pi** it in the wind. 15 million can be the difference to spend 50 million or 65 million on a player who can start for United. Yet here we are having fans talking about "useful squad players".

    Amrabat has been very impressive over the last couple of matches. I am especially surprised at his ability to press. He doesn't just press for the sake of pressing. He knows exactly WHEN to press as a result, his presses often turn over possession into our favour immediately giving us an opportunity to counter attack.
    It would be a smart move from United to trigger his option. United fans need to realise that we simply do not have the funds to invest in every position.

Retreat in between hustling to give time for other defenders to recuperate. In basketball we use what is called a tandem situation defence. It works for short court it should work better in football which has common athletical science. ❤

    he is very strong when it comes to body strength, it is good. He is also very determined when you see him goes through from box-to-box running for 80 yards (even though his top speed is not that high), his determination is admirable. He also has a very good sense when it comes to getting the "opponent" instead of the "ball" which is a PLUS because he understands he cannot "catch" those fast players. However, one problem with him, he always choose risky pass in which the teammates are not used to, which leads to a "chain-of-risky-passes" from Amrabat -> teammate 1 -> teammate 2 --> so on, these risky pass by Amrabat are often "50-50" between opponent and teammate, which is super dangerous.

    I think amrabat is good but we has been under utilized by the coach this season. His first game he came in as a left full back, and he could cover both the mid field and the left full back at the same. He showed quality in the three games. But the coach still didn't trust him. How ever it's time to prove and he has done. I didn't see why you would have wan bissaka in left full back when amrabat is on bench. So I totally agree with you he will be beneficial to the club If he is retained

    Wholly agree. Your argument is a strong one. Casemiro and Eriksen are in decline and need to leave, If you let Sofyan leave we have to find 2 or 3 new midfielders. Amrabat has not been given enough opportunities this season as ETH prefers 6/8/10 formation. In the last two matches he has went with a more defensive infield and we played well., Amrabat being key. Who would we get that is better for £21 million?

  • @defecationzen
    @defecationzen 16 днів тому

    his strengths are positioning and defensive awareness. the biggest question i have for him is his pace. when attacking players or even certain defensive players are running at speed at or from him he struggles to keep up (he has had a few small injuries though so i do not know if he is still injured). i think he is good for rotation purposes when you are playing less than breakneck speed teams and when you take off an attacking midfielder to close out games. what they really need is a young athletic defensive midfielder (and a centreback or two) who can eat up space quickly to deal with the speed of epl teams.

    I have not seen enough of Arabat. In the match last night there were some nervy touches that put us under pressure. I have not seen him play enough forward passes (like Carrick and Casemiro) playing at No.6. I agreed Amrabat is a very good ball winning midfielder, but we have McT who is also a very good ball winning midfielder, but lack that passing skills. I am glad we have loaned him on a year deal, like Sabitzer. I don't think we need another squad player in midfield so IMO we should save the money and not activate the deal.
    Love your contents. Keep it up.

    I did not think of it that way until you said it but you may be right. I like Casemiros pedigree and profile at United but we may have limited time to cash in on his value.

    Amrabat had too few games to really make a mark, he was used too much as a stop-gap during a season of MANY gaps. Some of the things he did were not always good, but some of them really were, he's quite composed and he deserves a real chance, especially with the likes of Mainoo at his side.
    He needs time, just like ETH, even though many want this coach out.
    Yet, when you look at the time it takes to build a PROPER team (like the one from 1999, for instance), EtH should at least go to the end of his contract because he may be building a class of 24 (Garnacho, Mainoo, Amad, possibly Kwambala and Wheatley).

    There's a reason we all clamoured for him to come, yesterday's game was a reflection of what we expected when he walked into the team, but it's either Ten Hag didn't know how to use him, or he needed some adapting to do. Let's not make hasty decisions as a club, i think Sofyan fits the profile of the kind of player we want in our midfield, far more than a few others we are linked with. So if we can apply him properly, we can this kind of performance consistently. I would suggest another year loan

    One thing that i want to ask you, please answer this
    For next season possibly casemiro is leaving, in the market DM is expensive, if man utd doesnt have enough fund to rebuild the squad, can we just buy a couple of CB or maybe 3 of CB (if evans leave), and play Licha in DM position? and then we can give amrabat permanent deal for subs
    i think selling deadwood, signign couple of CB and a RB (because AWB leave) should be top priority this summer

  • @victorosundu2461
    @victorosundu2461 16 днів тому

    EtH has found a way of using him effectively recently compared to the earlier part of the season and he's performing well so I don't see the need to let him go when we can sign him for just 21M. As you rightly said we're not gonna get a midfielder with his ability for close to that amount. Keeping him gives the room for more flexibility in the transfer market and don't forget that all the midfield players at the club struggled massively at one point or the other including Bruno and Kobbie, and also the fact that it's his first season in EPL. He'll improve next season so let's keep him.

    Oh I agree with you. Amrabat came in to what has been a poor team and ended up trying to fill in at left back in games where Utd were just not good enough as a team and becomes the fall guy merely for being as bad as the other ten guys in the same team.
    He was in a European final a few months earlier playing as a holding midfielder and being one of the best players in that team, and that is what Utd bought him for but failed to give him a run at his best position which is what he needed.
    Casmiero and Erikson have been great players in the past and certainly for 6 months last season, but past it for Premier League intensity and definitely the ones we need to ship out first

  • @Paddythefriendlykiwi

    I'd love to buy Onana and Neves, but that isn't going to happen.
    So, Amrabat and Onana would gives us incredible physical depth in that midfielder. You'd have Mainoo as our 8 also covered by Mount, and McT who can also provide back up to Fernandes.
    Gives us great tactical flexibility and budget to get two CBs, an experienced back up striker, a RW, a RB...and a LB.
    God there's a lot of work to do.

  • @mofodm
    @mofodm 16 днів тому

    I never got the criticism that went his way earlier in the season. He was injured, then he went into the team to cover at left-back. Not his position!
    Since then he didn't really get many chances. Use him as a destroyer who can also be useful triggering counter-attacks too. For the money involved we should definitely add him to the squad.

    Hey hermano, hope your doing lovely.
    Do you think Amrabat has the capabilities to play as a CB?
    I would prefer him there instead of Casemiro. I believe Amrabat gets motivated playing with Casemiro as he feels confident and security due to Casemiro’s world class experience.
    Would love to hear your thoughts on that question! Gracias bro!

    We want to Cash in on at least 10 players this summer. We want to offload Greenwood, Sancho, Mount, Bruno, VDB, Maguire, Lindelof, Williams, Pellistri & Antony etc.. ASAP & recruit at least 6 players this summer e.g. 2CB, 2CM, RW & ST!
    Then we can seriously challenge for league Next season!

    Been aaying that with his price tag, we need to make it permanent but many United fans saying im crazy. He is discipline. Doesn't go running to the box leaving the midfield empty. close down opponent fast. If we don't sign him, you think Ineos have the money to get us 2 midfielders, 2 CB , a LB and a ST ? Cause 1 CDM will never be enough, we need to consider injuries and suspension.
