People underestimate what having players like him in our buildup can do. a keeper who can mach his level is all which remains
Onana my boy
here we go Onana nanaaaaa
we need a vidic type player if onana sign. don't need a shortie that get exposed at anfield. Even Maguire never let 7 goals past him. I think eth know that Martinez and ddg are a weak link. that's why he tried lindelof again and again after that
@@asruluveira we only played Lindelof because Martinez was injured
@@tmbteuclid yes. meaning that eth still have hope for him. if not he would have played Luke Shaw. and for real. Utd looks harder to penetrate when Shaw in cb. Utd really need a new cb to compliment our rolls Royce. I am sorry. but Martinez is not it. there is a reason why a bum like ottomendi starts ahead of him in wc
For me he was our player of the year...way ahead of anyone else. He had 3 bad games all season and 2 of those was with Maguire at the very start of the season...no one came close to his consistent level of performance both with and without the ball...none!
Listen varane has been amazing this season but it shocks me to hear people genuinely disregard Martinez and say varane is our best cb . Martinez is our future and our most important cb by far. I'm gutted the Kim min Jae deal seems dead because that partnership with a ball playing keeper would've kicked off ten hag ball a year faster than it needs to be
this is how far utd have fallen. oppo literally targets Martinez because of his height. but u are suggesting that we turn a blind eye to that because he is slightly better than maguire. we should admit that elite defender will never be targretted because of their height. to make things worse, Even maguire never let 7 goal past him. esp at anfield.. Utd need to be ruthless. just look at city. they just won the Co but that didn't stop them to buy kovacic. Utd need another cb. or we will be in another degea like situation. Spain national team literally announce to the world that he is not good enough to be their no 1 years ago. just like Argentina literally play a bum like ottomendi ahead of Martinez.
@@asruluveira why does the national team place matter all of a sudden? Maguire starts for England ahead of people like Tomori and Ben White. And you know why that is? Because Maguire has been there longer and has been consistent in his performances for England. Licha will certainly be a starter at Argentina at some point, but even if he isn't I would not care one bit. I see what he does on the pitch despite his obvious height disadvantage and I feel comfortable in saying I would never put anyone ahead of him in that position. Every single player has deficiencies in their game, but it's how well you mask them that defines your ceiling. Licha is one of the best on ball CB's in the world, is tremendously aggressive and reads the game brilliantly. With Varane next to him, it all works and works well. And I beg people stop bringing up that Anfield game, it literally has never mattered. Pool put 7 past us and ended up with a failure of a season. One bad game shouldn't define a player, and certainly not a game where the entire cosmos combined to pile misery on us. It was a tremendous fluke for Pool to score 7 that day, and every single person on the pitch that day for us was responsible. I know however that you belong to narrow minority that hates him, and please by all means keep on doing it, cause you deserve to be miserable as you have the shittest opinion I have seen on the Internet today.
@@jayvardhansingh1471 it matters esp when the oppo literally targets him. This is fact. go watch the lfc game or the Brentford game.. I am not saying he is trash. but he is not an elite defender. BTW, Maguire did not play in anfield bro. and lfc literally targets him because he is short
@@asruluveira you name 4 games out of an entire season, oh and btw the entire team failed to play anywhere to their actual standard in those games. Licha is the actual definition of elite, his head never drops, and nearly the entire season up until he got injured he was 8/10 in 99% of the games. Say whatever you want, but I wouldn’t sway him for any other CB apart from maybe Alaba in world football rn.
the carragher edit was gold.. I swear Pep looks at Martinez n wishes he had him
I keep telling people.."this is pep type of player"
Thats why city want gvardiol
@@alanwide4364 I swear Gvardiol has been poor since the world cup
@@clauslarsen8971 has he??? i haven’t watched much of leipzig in months
@@byxisboii5397 not gonna claim I watched every single minute of him, but what I have seen hasnt been great. He has also only had 24 starts and is 118th! on average match rating and his tackle numbers are terrible
I was wondering if anyone would notice his ridiculous passing ability. He is absolutely elite and I can't wait to have him back in the team!
He was worth the money. Anthony gotta prove himself next season
Now you add banana to that team and you have two elite passers from the back.
youre not special for knowing about his passing ability lol
I loved that game against Brighton when we lost and every crucial shot or cross went straight through him. It's weird I never saw that happen to Stam and Ferdinand, so strange.🤷🏻♂️
Carragher, you were tall but prone to mistake, best own goal scorer
Hahahaha
I absolutely love how you’ve just played the entire Carra piece over this 🤣 brilliant.
Most underrated player ever! This man is a genius. I just wish he didnt have so many injuries
Martinez is a top 5 CB in the world right now...and he's only going to get better
This guy should have atleast 5 assists if we had people who know to score!
True
In all fairness, we had Ronaldo and Rashford
That's why i don't listen to these so-called ex footballers who think they know the game better than anyone else, who have qualified themselves to be professional football analysts. They can only mislead who can't think on their own. Any sensible individual would have come to notice that Martinez is one of the best cbs in Europe, and if it wasn't for injuries, he would have already become the best. His IQ is of the highest degree, in addition to his passing ability, he could easily be a #10. He's just naturally gifted. Any time he has a bad performance, well, i wouldn't go that far to say "bad", any time he has a performance below his high standards, it's because he doesn't have a proper partner beside of him. Whenever him and Varane are playing together, they are almost impenetrable. And we saw such high standards again in the fa cup final, we should have won that match without conceding, but i won't blame Onana, i will cut him some slack since we won. But the point is, Martinez partnering with another world-class defender in Varane, totally nullified a lethal and deadly force like City, they had to be taking shots from outside the box. Anyone with some level of IQ can clearly see that Martinez is one of the best cbs in Europe.
Imagine Onana to Martinez to Mount. 3 of the best line breaking passers and we would have all of them 😳🔥.
If we would've gotten caicedo and kane in addition I would've said we were on our way to being ready to challenge, that's of course after privately training rashford on how to use his body, make better decisions and taught proper shooting techniques, and Antony on how to use his right foot, make better decisions and taught different ways to score as a right winger other than searching for the top corner
@@sonofzeus5551 we need greenwood so badly mate

You obviously know nothing about football, thank goodness you’re not a coach.
Erik Ten Hag is a technician, a real mad man when it comes to football and you who works at McDonald’s is questioning his decisions 😂
The internet is a funny place.
Mount is no great passer
Not to mention Shaw who now seems to be slotting into midfield as well. That's a really good spine.
Loosing him towards the end of the season was a big blow for us. Thank God we still qualified for the UCL despite his absence. He's a key and unbel player for us. My current top 3 player in Manutd. The Butcher💪
Lisandro's passing is elite. He's passing is too good for a centre back.
These passes are endless - looks like Licha can keep passing those balls day in day out
Imagine ur goal keeper being able to do this on regular bases in addition to Lisandro Martinez. United will be beating presses and creating chances easily
That's why Arteta originally wanted him as a LB then inverted into LDM when attacking. This bring out all his best trait: ground tackling, anticipation, passing. But bro only wanted to play CB.
only united player that can start in any pep team comfortably, im happy it was him over timber and its not even close
If L. Matenez was a midfielder,I wonder how many chances and asist he would have created with his passing talent and ability 🎉🎉🎉❤
Am I the only that think Lisandro Martinez can play the John stones role?
Of course he can he's the best ball playing CB in the world and it's not even close
He definitely can but it will be very tough with the current players.
@@ikuesanola7296 Passing from the backline is different to in the middle surrounded with players. For instance, Laporte is City's best passer but looks out of place in midfield.
He can but like Ten Hag said, he doesn't have the legs for that role.
@@adetifamarvelous5915 he doesn’t need legs because he will defend as a Cb and play as mf
ErikTen Hag is building something spectacular at Manchester United. Once he moulds the team into his own image by bringing in players who he knows can function in his system and getting rid of those he deems unfit for the system will see this team become scary like the Fergie era. ETH is a rare kind of manager in the Guardiola, Klopp level.
If i was ten hag id change lisandro matinez position playing him infront of the defence and play casemiro on n# 8 then i look for a center back replacement . Saying this looking at his passing ability id make him and casemiro a double pivot. With a midfield like that we can get results right now he can focus on looking for a second striker. How yall think about this idea
Lisandro Together with Onana. Our back build up will be deadly, pinpoint assist to front line direct pass
I consider a CB as influential as the attacking midfielder of a team. A world class center back speeds up transitions and more spaces are available at the final third
Kim min Jae and Lisandro would have been such a great ball playing cb
If we had this guy we could have won the FA Cup!
aged beautifully well
its crazy now the centre back is the one doing 'paul scholes' pass nowadays alowing centrel mid push further up and into the box
Seeing how we played the vas majority of the 23/24 season without him it’s very clear why we struggled that season we really really missed him in the build up phase
@@lelouch_v9923 it’s ridiculous to think losing one player can make you struggle that much in build up
That speaks to a very dysfunctional tactical system
He is playing like Paul scholes, but his position is center back
Getting a "Licha 6" jersey for next season 😍
The hate is so much for Man United that they don't want any of our new signings to settle in with all these comments, and criticism. But I'm sure with the new signings, and hopefully the change of leadership to Qatar will bring back the long due glory days for us.
He is indeed the best ball playing CB atm and soon we will have the best ball playing goalkeeper as well!
For the most part the game has moved on, football is now played on the ground (unlike in Carragher's day) and moving forward there will a lot more smaller CB's who can play ball, but I don't think there will be many as good as Lisandro!
Amazing player... now just imagine if United can get Onana in the goal and a top #9 up top and it's game on.
Slapping the ball about 💯
him with the inverted LB role at Arsenal would have banged so hard. No weaknesses if he plays Zinchenko role, only maximized strengths.
I love licha but the only thing that worries me is that he’s gonna get injured a lot in the coming years with his aggression in the premier league with all these big heavy players and everything being so fast.. I hope his body can withstand the physicality of the premier league for years to come.
it's not just his line breaking passing. he is also a very good defender.
He reminds me of Scholes.
if united can find another cb like him to partner thats taller Han him they will be solid for many many year
De Ligt
loved the voice over lol always bewildered me that carra, someone who worshipped baresi, would ever say anything like what he said about martinez, just because he didn't know about him or watch him. ridiculous. baresi, cannavaro, puyol, mascherano, ivan cordoba, medel and more recently ake and timber...
Since his transfer two years ago he’s only won 4 trophies for club and country…he’d have double if he were over 6ft tall
This man should be a cdm bruh
I laughed when spit the dog Carragher made these statements, he talks like he never heard of players like Cannavaro 5ft 9''/Baresi 5ft 9''
He makes it look easy. The opponents don't even press him. I wonder if that will change next season. If you give him time on the ball, he is going to find a pass to hurt your defense. It's as simple as that
Bro,our midfield is shambles and our attacker are dreadful, throughout this video lisandro kept finding passes that could easily be transformed into goals if the players were good enough
When he got that injury… I knew our season is over
It seemed as if he was making sense until he proved him wrong
meanwhile maguire and lindelof still love passing each other sideways until one of them volleys a long pass (which is mostly intercepted) to one of the attackers 😭😭
He is worth more than 80 pounds.
Can easily play CDM and be better thn most of the original CDM

why Jamie why?
😂 Jamie Carragher just as good of a trash talker as he was trash on the pitch
I swear Jaime talks like he’s a legend. Mediocre player, many unknown defenders are better than Jaime. Lisandro is top
Carragher never won a single trophy for Liverpool the entire 40 years he played for them, I’d rather have my eardrums poked out than to listen to a clown.
This prat talking will now talk on Thursday football games 😂😂😂😂
To be fair he was kinda right. Lisandro can only be good in a back 3 core which we play. Bt if we play with the traditional 4 at the back he will struggle
Lisandro martinez pass always frustrate opponents

Listening to carragher on man utd is so annoying.. what a muppet.
Fish the glazer. Sell utd now, stop squeeze it then we can buy players

He’s not getting near Arsenals starting defence and Saliba is a better ball playing CB.
😂😂
Not sure what’s funny. Call yourself an analyst, check your stats on Salibas passing vs Martinez. What’s even funnier is Martinez wasn’t United’s first choice CB. That was Timber who’s on his way to……🤣
@@markygti138 timber wasn’t arsenal first choice, it was Martinez. Saliba is the better all round defender but Lisandro Martinez is the better passer. U don’t even need stats on this. U need to watch them both. Saliba plays safe passes

His passing stats dropped off when he came to United. But for me, He passes better than Saliba. That’s why Arterta wanted him. Martinez was once a midfielder for Ajax. I don’t think Saliba can play in midfield.
King Licha!!! The Butcher of OT!!!
He's being wasted as a cb , he has all the qualities to become the ideal cdm , he's a monster at tackling and ball retrieving , his passing is on par with casemiro , in fact casemiro has not been the same since Martinez was injured , just check the stats
Ten hag said at Ajax he doesn't have the stamina to play 90 minuites in midfield as he tried him there in 2019/20. Thats why he converted him to a ball playing CB

@@abdallahasan8884 no, the pass to Maguire was much better. I agree he shouldnt pass to him, but thats only because its Maguire. That pass actually broke the lines and pressure of Sevilla. his simple yet very effective ball control and passes remind me so much of Paul Scholes.
1 year later and after he was out for most of the season its amazing how much we missed him
He'll destroy John Stones in that position!

I'm a United fan but come to think about what you saying that is very true bro even when you guys lost Saliba he could have helped a lot
He has everything to compensate for his lack of height. Even when winning Ariel fuels, he had the timing alot of the time. He's been a great signing for us, I'm glad he's back in training too, he'll be ready for pre season and new season
Carragher wasn't fair to him at all. He said lot's of offensive words towards him before he kicked the ball and Licha proved him wrong. This isn't the only time Carragher was on the wrong side of history, remember what he said about Evra after Luis S. situation broke out? Yeah, he need to have sober mind when criticizing players especially MANU players.
