It'd be more interesting if people thought of the question in a way that was 'replace mainstream rapper with non-mainstream that could actually achieve mainstream success with their sound' rather than 'replace bad mainstream rapper with non-immediately accessible but highly regarded underground artist'. Sometimes the DEHH guys touched on it, but most of these comments look like the conscious vs. non-conscious debate.

although out of anybody i would say future for big krit. i don't see any appeal in future. he doesn't sound good on a beat. he has arguably the worst voice in hip hop right now but he wants to sing. autotune can't even save his ass. big krit makes music that is accessible for the mainstream and has good lyrics and good content. i have no idea why he isn't blowing up like kendrick.

I don't think that people realize how important mainstream rappers are to the entire Hip-Hip Eco-system. Without them your favorite underground artists wouldn't even exist, let alone prosper.

I'd replace Nicki Minaj with either Snow Tha Product or Stori, can't decide which one.
Both are great lyricists, not necessarily having as diverse flows as Nicki but they can rap fast and both can sing well too, and from their mixtape songs i think they can make better pop crossovers than Nicki without being labelled a "sellout"
And most importantly neither of them (so far anyway) are using sex to sell themselves, something which would be a huge change from what we've been accustomed to with mainstream female artists

I'd replace Ross with Action Bronson. Both are character rappers, but Bronson has the fresh approach. still got love for Ross tho.

Lets not even talk about the two CLASSIC, yes i said CLASSIC mixtapes he has. the 3 mini EP's he put out were dope, his last album sold almost 300k in the first week and has sold over a 1 million records to date. Weird that people keep putting people like Big KRIT in the underground and people like Rich Homie Quan in the mainstream. KRIT has had a top 5 album on Billboard, RHQ has had a top 50 album. Dumb music does not automatically mean mainstream, and "conscious" (though thats kind of a bullshit term imo) isn't automatically underground.
Coke rap has it's purpose just like party rap and conscious rap. But I think Pusha T is a better coke rapper than Rick Ross, but is not as popular.

They was kind of for a bit when Yonkers first came out if you want to count that. But yeah I get what your saying they're not typically mainstream they definitely arent considered underground either especially after channel orange I guess they're smack bang in the middle as in they are not on the tip of every ones tongues all the time but they do sometimes have everyone talking it just dies down fast.

Odd Future isn't mainstream. Mainstream isn't huge in rap. Its huge in music. If you ask your mom who Odd future is she probably won't know. If you ask her who Drake,Nicki Minaj,Snoop ,or 50 cent ,I bet you she would know.
let's replace Desiigner, Kanye, Jay-Z, Fetty Wap, Future, Young Thug, Macklemore, Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj and 2 Chainz. I'd put in: Tech N9ne, Token, A-F-R-O, Chris Rivers, Vinnie Paz, RA the Rugged Man, Jarren Benton, Twisted Insane, Krizz Kaliko and Lloyd Banks. There is definitely a lot that you could replace, and it would be like the golden era never ended.
I don't have a specific artist I don't like. But i'd take out Wayne. Only because his time has been due. I'd replace him with Chance the Rapper or Joey Bad. I chose Wayne, because at this point he isn't putting out anything good only jumping in trends trying to stay relevant. But don't get me wrong, I was a huge Wayne fan, but now it just seems like he's beating a dead horse.
Wayne still has it in him to be good I wouldn't take him out entirely id just take him out to work out who he is as an artist. He just doesn't sound relevant any more his music just sounds forced he isn't really talking about anything. Sometimes artist just need some time away. Eminem had to do it. He needs to start writing again cause without writing his music has been suffering.

Take out Big Sean and replace his ass with King Los. Let's put Elzhi in there for Eminem. Blu for Wiz. Gemstones for Chief Keef, KRIT for Rick Ross, and shit take out Young Money and put in TDE, Funk Volume, Pro Era, and Ratt Pack. There are some good groups out there as well. Speaking of TDE, I'd say Ab-Soul, but he'll get his shine in time.

If Breaking Bad had stayed consistent, it might have been on par with The Wire for me. The thing is, Breaking Bad seemed to suffer from overdramatization and a massive budget in the end, while The Wire kept getting better and better, while maintaining the same tight pace. Personally seasons 1-3 of Breaking Bad were still some of the best hours ever shown on Television though.

Take all them out, Migos, Future, wayne, Drake, French, Ross, Gucci, Jeezy all of the need to go..i wouldn't replace em with an underground artist though just because i think being a independent rapper, an underground MC is a privilege and an advantage to those "real hip hop heads" seeking that raw lyrical boom bap sound that can't be heard in mainstream hip hop, so digging deep and discovering these MC's is like finding a vein of gold unlike mainstream where you're constantly being bombarded with the same style of rap and discovering something new is a hassle.
I don't take it really seriously but I like rich homie quan, catchy fun shit
