I think Jay could poop in a bucket and there would be at least TWO deluxe versions sold...
I'm dead.
Watch the Porcelain Throne
Mike gives the best views because of his explanations and evidence
Can we all just agree that mikes sammich was better than Magna Carta

I gotta say. Megan did an amazing job behind the camera. Very well done. She really captured the emotions of all the members simultaneously and effortlessly. Nice job Megan.
Modest Media is making shit up to defend this bullshit album. I´m a JayZ fan but this album sounded like a better produced, more sophisticated Rick Ross project. Shit, this was more boring than Rick Ross shit
The thing Jay and Em have in common with they new albums is that both really lacked on what the other didn't. Em killed lyrics but SUCKED with production while Jay had the dope production but lazy lyrics.
if eminem used the mchg beats with the same lyrics, mmlp2 would be a CLASSIC. em needs to do something with timbaland, pharell, kanye, etc. I feel like they would really re amp his career
I agree, but Jay has one of the most consistent discography of all time, a few weak links but he's more apt at creating a consistent and enjoyable project than Eminem. Eminem has 2 genuinely great albums (all this is my opinion, it's cool if you disagree) and those are MMLP and The Eminem Show. SSLP is a solid album but less cohesive in comparison to the other 2, so to compare Jay to Eminem doesn't make sense to me. It's more surprising when Jay drops a weak project than Eminem, because in my honest opinion Eminem hasn't been on his A game for a while, in terms of creating a solid album- not lyrically! Anyway, peace.
Yessirr you right on that. Jays has some bad albums but there still some joints you can fuck with.
I agree.
And that's why MMLP 2 to me is a better album...because you can have mediocre beats and it still be a dope album...but if you have mediocre lyrics, it really loses luster for me at least. And as for the comparison between Jay and Em's discography I feel like it's closer than you think at least to me because the only wack Eminem album was Encore...I like relapse and Recovery, and MMLP 2 all are pretty good albums but both have 3 classics and Eminem's being MMLP, SSLP, and ES and Jay Z's being Reasonable Doubt, The Blueprint, and The Black Album...but this is all just subjective
lmao "let me get the tracklist up...cuz i didnt memorize this bullshit"- myke

Y'all niggas cuss Eminem for working with pop artists, all the time, but if Jay Z does it with Justin Timberlake , its brilliant.
"Your idols are really losing their flair, aren't they?" - Myke
😆😆
Thank you Kinge and Myke, you guys nailed it. I'm sick of people letting Jay get away with not even being creative with what he puts out or being skillful/meaningful with his lyrics. I always consider what MCs like El-P, R.A the Rugged Man or Aesop Rock would be thinking when Jay gets called "lyrical".....
haha at 13:30, Myke would make an awesome Hypeman
lmfaoooo
Feefo at 15:37 "why are you holding him to this standard?"
Because its Jay-Z...i expect the guy who gave me Reasonable Doubt, Vol 1, Black Album, Blueprint and American Gangster to make a good album
Lol what did ya'll "learn" from Blueprint?? That album wasn't all that deep it just sounded great really.
Georgiaboy2016 exactly.. That's my favorite HOV album
Rod is a Jay-Z Stan plain and simple. Jay was extremely lazy on this album.
I haven't enjoyed a whole Jay Z album since The Black Album. Do you really want to hear my opinion? Ok....2/10.
Didn't like American Gangster?
Jay Romeo Now that you say that, I guess like it, but no where near old Jay Z
Replace BP2 with AG and u have the perfect pre-retirement Jay-Z discography; Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3, The Blueprint, American Gangster, and The Black Album.

Modest media trys his hardest to damage control Jay Z LMAO, if this album didn't have the Jay z name you would b trashing this LOL.
Nice production, lazy lyrics.
Yeah sad but true but going back & listening to Magna Carta Holy Grail it's not trash but at the same time it's not his best either!
man we need more modest media, he's a neat devil's advocate
Myke trolling his ass off 😂
MMLP2 shits on MCHG
Both aren't very good.
MrOverlordGiygas
MMLP2 is way better then MCHG imo. You cant even compare them lyrically.
Edge Lyrically sure. Musically neither thrill me.
Both booty
Kinge's review was too funny haha
Modest Media , Jay Z's number one Stan.
Fast forward to 2017 and Ken was right about Jay Z
Ken is right most of the time but people won’t admit it 🤷🏻♂️
The album was trash.. It sounds like what new artists rap, all beats nothing really crazy about it honestly...
the guy with the blue shirt and the beard is a TOTAL jay-z stan
Rod AKA Modest Media & i'm also a Jay-Z stan!
At this point Jay-Z's MCHG is motivation and role model shit.
I could care less about his topics and lyricism because there too
repetitive/ kind of lazy.
My favourite DEHH quote of all time “I think that my sandwich was better than this album”
Love this conversation because it's same one rock n roll fans of The Stones or Springsteen had years ago. Jay isn't vital in hip hops musically anymore, but his discography makes it hard at first for fans to realize it. Still, like the Stones he can sell out venues and have successful tours..but you don't go to hear new shit. Honestly it's a credit to him to have reached that level. .The 1st in rap history to do it.
Kinge gave a "What I learned in Boating School is" list at the start lol
I think this is my favorite DEHH review. Being in some random public location, Myke running around in the background, the sandwich, Rod acting like Riley w/ Thugnificient from Boondocks, it's just perfect.
I miss when they were just in random ass locations, it makes me feel like they’re just in their normal days and then they randomly just pause and are like “shit, we gotta record a review” it’s great
Mike at 13:17 lolololol
Modest definitely would die for Jay Z
Hah, y'all are right in front of my parking deck. I was like 2 buildings away from y'all that day
That guy on the right seems to have some creepish obsession for Jay-Z.
You mean the cameraman/editor for damn near every DEHH review? Yeah, "that guy on the right"
Myke felt like he was the only one who made sense.
These guys are great to listen to ! Honest opinions and witty banter. Love it.
I wish people would back off lyrics and actually just enjoy the music cuz at the end of the day its art and you don't have to listen to it if you don't know
This is by far the most constructive review of this album that i've heard all year and i thank each and every one of your brothas for breaking it down to the people. Now, let me offer my take on it from the perspective of a sista and the responsibility of Hip Hop culture to its listeners. First, i have a MAJOR issue with a grown man (age 44 to be specific) attempting to maintain relevancy by showcasing little to no growth as an artist and STILL speaking about redundant issues(we know ya got money) akin to his 18 year old self (please view Reasonable Doubt). Second, i agree with the statement about Jay can actually do better than this attempt at an album that brings mediocrity to a whole new standard. Last but not least, i have a strong concern with the concepts, ideas and symbolism surrounding this album. To give you a gist of where i am going with this, the album title: Magna Carta. This is a document conceived by the British ruling class and would be the legal framework for Western imperialism. Need i say more...i do not have time for double talk. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. How can you speak of being from the streets and have no intent to evolve your art to represent where you came from? "With a gift comes responsibility which must be used wisely." Nuff said.
Well he's not the only 44 year rapper that does that because majority of our favorite rappers are in their 40s now. Eminem, Nas, Snoop, Wu-Tang, Scarface and a few others. I see what you're saying him being a 44 year old rapper and being on top of the mainstream. A lot of people aspect a rapper from the 90s to not be on top anymore.
13:15 This nigga Myke trapping though xD lmfao much love
Nice camera work, intern. (better than modestmedia at some points xD)
Nice review as always guys.
Music is art just like any other artforms. it can be different things, though.
there are movies like the avengers which are fun and flashy and awesome.
but movies like clockwork orange which are deep and thought provoking.
same with music. why do we have to choose? we can have both.
"Oceans" has the most meaning
God y'all are so funny
I like how Nas matured as an artist and did the "Life is Good". Jay Z tries to stay relevant by using sounds rather than being confident enough to mature as an artist and make grown man music. That's what Kin is saying.
Give Nas this level of production and we will have the modern classic we are hungry for.

I partially agree with Kinge. Being in a different place might excuse your different subject matter, but that doesn't mean you can get away with doing it weakly.
Pretty disappointing album. Not a lot of replay value. Jay better than this lyrically.
DJG2287 not a HOV fan but this album is amazing. Especially the beats they're so amazing
Elie Bomana Exactly! The beats are cool. Jay's rapping is pathetic. It seems like he has run out of lyrics.
Burg Skeletal nope 4:44 proved you wrong
@@myname8635 FACTS!!! 💯
I don't think the album itself is very bad, its just that young kids like Kendrick and Joey have raised the bar so high; they showed us what all can be done lyrically, sonically and production-wise. I don't think we hold jay to too high a standard I think l jay himself just doesn't realize that the bare has moved. Yes, dude is monster when he wants to be but.....
I listend to the album but didnt remember any of lyrics becuase i fell asleep, cause Its soooo BORING
It's amazing learning something new about myself. That's why I enjoy watching their reviews even though I always disagree with them. :)
Is Modest Media rocking a fucking calculator watch?
Yeezus watch the throne maga cater holy grail all trash
whyd you add kanye in there in a video about jay lol
Only one of them even comes close to being "trash". And we all know it's not the one talked about in this video
Hater
Daniel Hill I was not in my right mind when I wrote that. American Gangster is definitely better than Yeezus.
LMAO Maga cater
This album is jay z at like 10 % I wanna hear blueprint jay at least
He scaled back on this album! If he decided not to use heavy lyrics in this album fine. He could have tackled the album from a minimalist approach which would fit perfectly with the art concept. I enjoyed the album but I have to agree with Ken and Mike he has the ability to do better. I am upset that Feffo held JCole to that standard and not J. I appreciate your opinions but it just seemed like a double standard.
Watching in 2020, anniversary of Biggie’s passing. “Only Christopher we acknowledge is Wallace”✊🏾
"I don't even like Washington's in my pocket" 🎤 🐐
Lol you can't compare Jordan on the Wizards to Jay-Z right now. Basketball is a physical sport, and athletes losing their abilities in their early to mid thirties is a given. Making music isn't quite the same. Their are 40+ artists from various genres of music that can still make amazing albums regardless of their age.
This album was fucking wack but Jay-Z blind lovers love it
I agree with Kinge so much on this. Jay-Z is a guy who is in that conversation for greatest MC of all time, and his last two solo efforts have been just ok. He and Nas always seem to be linked in these discussions, so let's take Life Is Good for example. That's a very mature, introspective album where Nas clearly wanted to deliver as an MC (we'll just ignore Summer on Smash) Jay doesn't seem interested in doing that. He's kind of half assing it, and seems more interested in padding his account.
Plus Nas had bangers in the whip as well like The Don
"It's like watching Michael Jordan in a Wizard's jersey." Sums up current Jay perfectly
Crazy how if you listen to this now, it hits so much different from before.😫🔥
ya the production is timeless
i just wish ANYONE else was rapping over it
I think this album is dope idk where yall coming off with "decent", these beats are amazing
FACTS!!! 💯
Jus the production was good overall this album is wack
Myke is who i agree with the most ,great review myke
I agree with my man in the blue shirt 100% while everybody tryna dissect and find something wrong
All true. your point is valid and so was mine. The bottomline, no matter what, you arent gonna please everybody with the direction an album is taken. If he went super introspective then a group of people here would be saying "its boring" "why is he trying to preach now" "he's gotten too old for todays rap" "whos he think he is, i aint got time for all that" things along those lines nuknowit.
Just let this man hold the camera. This video have to be as long as it had to be just because he doesnt know how to listen to people. He talks around himself.
I love that I get recommended for all these dope DEHH videos! Legendary
I’m a little late but goddamn Myke is right Tom Ford is so terrible😂😂
so u not clappin for a nigga with his rappin ass?
Dude in blue lovessss jayz
I've never liked Jay-Z ever. And this album just made me dislike his music even more. By the way that dude Modest Media is such a Jay-Z homer.
Magna Carta Holy Grail wasn't one of his best overall project's but he does have one of the greatest musical catalogs in music history don't be disrespectful!
This album was fire. I'm not even a huge jay z fan. This shit is just good rap music. Jay z old af rich af nothing left to talk about but I'm gonna be quoting these bars for awhile. Can't say that about anyone else this year so far.
Jay Said He Would Come Back Rockin The 4-5.😂😂It was a Double entendre .He Was talking about a 4-5 pistol and a 45 jersey. So yeah he is like Mike in a Wizard Jersey."When I Come Back Rockin the 4-5 it's not to Play Games With You"
DAMN I'm a Jay-Z fan but i can't lie that was HILARIOUS! 😂😂😂
I appreciate you putting your input in. I know a lot of others along with me would enjoy you discussing your opinion on reviews in the future. I enjoyed the whole video and can appreciate everybody's opinions.
blueprint 1 is best jigga album
Wheel Smith Reasonable Doubt is his best album.
NOPE
Oh hell yeah blue print 1 was bomb! So many great tracks. For reasonable doubt there's only dead presidents 2 and can't knock the hustle
I hear a lot of people saying they didn't like the album. I loved it! All I ask for is a hip hop album to SOUND like a hip hop album. The beats were undeniable. People say his flow as lazy but he said it himself on the Black Album "What More Can I Say". This being his 13th solo album, there's not much more to talk about except growth. He's no longer a street corner hustler, he's a business man, a husband, and a father. And honestly, more of us can relate to that than being a drug dealer.
He brings a great new personality to a group with great personalities already. I think he should do more!
Kinge killed this interview with Ready for this war, Ready for this war!
blue shirt guy is delusional
The most unlikely high leveled argument, Rob vs. Kenn
This forces you to have an opinion
Dope to see yall getting worked up in the discussion. Been long since i saw that on the show
I like these guys but Jay-Z doesn't care what they say cuz they opinion don't matter at the end of the day lets keep it 100
Damn Beezy is that a holland shirt? Orange with the lion on it. Feels like you're repping the Netherlands. Make me feel proud as a dutch citizen.
Jay-Z is better than any nigga rappin today you can have your own opinion. My thing is I wish people stop with the "should of would of could of" and always sayin "It aint like his old shit" Well no shit there a thing in music as well in life called evolution
Man honestly I started listening to the album with absolutely no expectations. I went into it hoping to get a few tracks I really enjoy and hopefully an overall album that isn't too bad. I really enjoyed the album but I agree it wasn't that good.
