@@misterjersey5460 Hell yes! 20v is the ultimate imo. And the ae111 chassis is setup so well, particularly in the BZ-R form with the thickened swaybars, stiffer shocks etc.
bro I did a deep dive on yamaha involvement in my IS-F's heads and its absurd all the development they put into a car. I would never work on it myself due to just being a guy with a garage but they put in a ton of effort in developing and combining ideas into something that you probably will never see again.
From revolutionary engines in motorcycles to audio equipment to engines. They have been pioneers and were the first to use beryllium on speakers among many other innovations.
You forgot the 2UR-GSE which is another Toyota/Yamaha collab. It started in the ‘08-‘14 IS-F, and currently in the: RC-F (‘15 - present), LC500 (‘18 - present) with slight improvements and IS500 (‘22 - present) with minor updates. All really nice cars with pretty high redlines around 7400rpm.
Great topic for a video. I've always made note of Yamaha-influenced engines being deployed in Volvo, Lexus, etc.. Seems like it should be more of a selling point than it is.
I don't understand the whole Toyota thing here. Everyone constantly praises Toyota for that bulky JZ engine. I've been saying this for years and this video shows it, Toyota can't do ANYTHING great without somebody else's help, especially Yamaha's. Yamaha doesn't need any backing from anyone, they're totally fine by themselves, hence the argument for the stake Toyota has with Yamaha. A stake doesn't dictate ownership, it just helps open doors
Not many know Yamaha collab in many of these engine productions. Because the engine and the car have a Toyota name on it, its natural people would praise the name they know. It's sad that Yamaha doesn't even take any praise for it and work in the background.
Everyone dick rides the 2JZ, Yamaha didn’t design it, they didn’t even get free reign on the head like most GE Toyota’s, Toyota just went off the 1JZ head which was designed by Yamaha. Toyota’s proven it can design a solid fucking engine without Yamaha, the 1/2GR, the UZ’s, UR’s that arent the 2UR-GSE, the 2AR, all sturdy engines with great non-Yamaha heads. Even when Yamaha does dabble, with the exception of the 1LR-GUE (LFA) all they do is the cylinder heads, Toyota still designs the blocks and bottoms ends, gives Yamaha the specifications of what they’re looking for, Yamaha just has that secret sauce for port flow
It's not about that. It's feedback for him to do better in the next project. And it's a valid one when many commenting on it. Knowing how to read and speak properly is one of the reasons to be successful in a video like this. When the audience can't discern half of what you speak, you can't attract a new audience to your channel. Doesn't matter how good the editing in your video is.
I have seen several 89-90 SHO for sale and i wondered what happened to them and if they are fixable. I mean from the list of failed fixes on them are pages long so what problem do those engines have that cause them to break and br unfixable? Anybody?
They're kind of a pain i* t** a** to work on them. I just released a video on one of these in the junkyard, and you simply look at the engine and you don't want to touch it.
I was hoping to see a video about motorcycles but I was interested to find out that Yamaha had worked on so many engines for so many other makes of cars. I would humbly offer you this little piece of advice though. You should speak more slowly and maybe not rattle off a string of model numbers all at once. All the best with your channel. Ja from Wales

Don't want to be harsh but you really need work on how you pronounce things man and practice reading your script!.. I don't mean the japanese words. For example at 4:21 you pronounce symphony as "sin-if-ee" rather than "sim-fe-ne", 4:30 you pronouce components as "kop-oh-nens" rather than "kem-pou-nents", then straight after that you say "interior elephants" rather than interior elements.
