My little Latte, over 11 years we were together. SO beautiful, smart, playful and always wanted to please us. Very active but also very chill, happy to lay on your lap or go for hour long walks and agility training. Very low shedding, went to the groomers every quarter or so, loved to be brushed, kissed and talked to. Best dog ever, once I heal I will get another Maltese.
Lilly our Maltese featuring in the video is now 8 years old. She is definitely the best breed - playful, active, happy to be cuddled, but best of all has a great and very cheeky personality. She still looks like a puppy to this date.
I have a 15 years old Maltese. She’s very small just 4.5 pounds. I love her so much. She’s loyal, doesn’t bark, doesn’t shed, doesn’t pee everywhere. Can’t ask for a better baby. I’m blessed.

She is beautiful. I remember my 1st Maltese at that age, he ended up sleeping in my bed. Had him until. He was 12 he was my world & he came to work with me EVERYDAY. I had a big studio where I taught ceramics & art. Had over 300 students & they all loved him.
I had my Maltese girl for nearly fifteen years when she passed. She was my baby! I loved her so much and she loved me. She snuggled up to my back in bed. She was so lovable and loved opening her gifts at Christmas!

So very sorry for you loss, it gets easer with time , i mourned a whole year for my dog. When your heart has healed bring back that special love that only a dog can fill. There is no greater gift than to love !

i can think of much better breeds that are friendlier and wont be difficult to house train. ever hear of a borador (lab mixed with border collie)? every maltese i see is spoiled due to bad ownership

We have maltese girl for 9 years, and I wasn't before to attached to any dog, but this little bundle of joy is so loving, caring and always happy and playful, that you just can't but adore her. And one important thing to note; I had couple dogs before, and each of them had, or has shown in some occasions, some form of aggression, but Honney (that's my dogs name) in this 9 years, hasn't express any aggressive action to anybody. Regarding coat, she has "teddy" bear cut most of time, so there is actually no problem with coat.

I had shih tzus yorkies and malteses. I agree with you; malteses are the most loving dogs ever; they are forever puppies.when people ask me about the difference among these dogs based on my experience, I usually say that malteses are more submissive than other breeds, and they can easily get hurt.
We might get a Maltese because my mom works from home and on the weekends and before and after school I can give it loads of attention plus there small clever and cute!!!!!
I've got a four year old Maltese who rides with me on my motorbike/scooter (see my channel for evidence). Difficult to do with a large dog. They do tend to have a wonderful temperament, but can be clingy. I love my Maggie though and find the clinginess endearing.

Maltese are great dogs! I have one, however expect to brush teeth frequently or else 70% of these dogs will develop cavities and have fish breath because they were bred with 42 teeth (in a tiny mouth that is bad news). Other than that you may want to cut/brush their hair often and sometimes trim nails. Their coats are prone to stain and some may have skin issues. Other than that there will be behavioral issues but every dog has their own as they grow up. Rescue one and enjoy what they bring!!!
I Love Maltese; best character for older people, but can suffer tremendously in the hands of young children; they are delicate, and get hurt easily. I love them but to get the character in a tougher body, I breed my Yorkie and my Maltese; the result was stunning; beautiful coat, feisty, yet lovey.

+Connie Long I have a Maltese too, When she came with 12 weeks to me I let her sleep with me . She did not pine at all. This is an ancient breed that had been always close to humans. In fact they are breed for it and with it , they are used to sleep in the bed with their humans. So the pining is not there is you sleep with them. They are also watch dogs.. and will bark with they think that there is danger. however with appropiate gentle puppy training they will be not overly noisy and just as a dog would be. They are very eager to please their humans hence they are a ancient breed. However the downside of it is that they can get anxiety issues so I would not recommed to leave them at home alone for many hours. Perhaps not to leave them at home when they are little at all. My Maltese dog learned to trust that I can go out after a couple of months when she was almost a year, but I never leave her alone for more than 2 or 3 hours

I can't imagine the number of compliments you must get when people see your dogs. :) I made a simple quote of $150 to 300 because i've seen them being offered for that price (USD). i've met some backyard breeders of Maltese, and they've told me that Maltese are easier to breed and take care of. Of course, they are refering to the size and ease of taking care of newborn pups.

I am surprised you got it so young. As a breeder I never let them go before 14 weeks. They are great dogs though. Bichons are also good.
