If you have more car wheels laying around it would be interesting to see how much force the center or the rim could take when the wheel is laying flat - for another video. Together with a flat surface to rest on, I think that is when the wheel is hardest to break.
IMHO it is not representative. Steel was space saver. Also area of contact was really small either at bottom and especially on top. It should be much bigger so it will represent will resistance to load rather than tyre resistant to puncture by press cylliner
So, we're testing bicycle handlebars under the assumption that they are going to buckle when an elephant steps on the croas-bar? Otherwise, I'm at a loss for words...
The alluminum car rims are weakest at the inner center....all weight goes from edges of the rim center. Test was not correct like on short widht of the steel rim.
The silver wheel is from an Opel Manta. Recognised it straight away in the thumbnail.
Okey 👍 👀👀😁increíble saludos cordiales desde sudamerica santa cruz Bolivia 🇧🇴 👀👀👀😯😁

Good job 👍
Прошу прощения, но тест конечно хороший, но если накачать 8 очков, то выдерживает 4 тонны колесо от машины... А так лайк конечно 👍
The bicycle wheel would be much stronger if you pushed on the axle. They work on spoke tension not compression.

Never heard a car wheel called a disc before.
Direct translation from Russian.
Holy shit... This is an Opel Manta B alloy wheel... 😢
Steering wheel test - ok
Wheel test - stupid, the wheel doesn't work like that
But the press work just like that 😄
I liked the comparison.
But, why are the 2 aluminium so different. The price is 5 times higher. Is it about thickness or alloy of aluminum?
One wheel is alloy (silver) one is steel ( black)
There have been many Al alloys...the strongest are at grade of stainless steel....that is the reason why bicycle handles are so different.
