When I do an oil change on my Raptor I always remove the filler plug before the sump plug to ensure there is no vacuum during the drain. The reason being a faster oil dump can aid sludge and debris evacuation.
I take out the oil filter o-ring and fully lube it with fresh oil. One thing garages tend to do is sometimes over fill your oil level. When you get your bike back from a service check the oil level yourself, you may find that you need to drain some... or maybe even add some.
+RevvedUpBiker My bike was overfilled after its first service!
Bikers Quest
And they charge you for every drop added.
You can remove an oilfilter with 2 screwdrivers in a 90degree angle from each other. This method helped me out when all else failed.
Mr B... love your video's... you do a great job!! It is much appreciated, keep up the great work and be safe!!
Great vid it's nice that a biker does this to show how it's done and to show how it can be done without going to a garage brill like a boss lol
that Waterloo stand for your bike looks quit handy dandy. how does it work
Thanks, nicely explained. I have never been particular about my oil.....why synthetic?
Excellent, clear how to video.
The only way anyone knows a service has been done properly is when you do it yaself......saving shite loads of money.......giving piece of mind for those who are willing and capable to carry out most relatively easy tasks Getting to know ya own bike is worth it time and time again.....
As for the gibbon who hung off ya filter........

Antonio Conte changing his oil lol :)
Andy a few peeps av sed about the sump plug on the 09 being tite but the Manuel does state 31 ft lb of torque !
do you need to put a new sump plug and crush washer on every time you change the oil?
Weird, I thought I'd check my ratchets because it seemed different. One of mine has the switch work the other way around!
awesome video, thanks for sharing. How often do you change the oil and oil filter?
I noticed my filter the shop put on doesn't have a bolt. I'll look for the band filter remover tool
Like a pro, Boss!!! Thank you!
Love the video no sump washer needed then???
what you did with the oil filter.. i didt with my R1 1999 😊 before 15 years
the same mistakes
good bike
all have my fg-09 next week
Shouldn’t the bike be flat on the floor to check oil correctly . Having the rear wheel off the floor will give you an incorrect reading
2.7L of oil with a filter change not 2.4L !
Rajeev Sood Really? I didn't know. Isn't that over filled?
@@abdulazimabdulrahman8584 Your filter holds some oil as well.
never accelerate the engine if the oil filter its empty cranck shaft will sufer !
Does anyone know how many miles to change the fz09 at is it the same 3000 k like a sport bike?
I do mine every 3k. At the end of the day, it’s cheap & easy to do. And essentially a high performance engine. So why not. ✌️👍
What was the oil brand and weight?
Nice camera dood
awesome vid
Dealership did the exact same to me the wankers over tightened the oil filter an plug snapped my strap on the oil filter so just ordered one of these to see if it will do the job
what kind of bike stand is that? seem very practical than the usual paddock stand
ABBA superbike stand...it's in one of his other videos...

Your ratchet switch rule is not always correct, depends on the make of ratchet which way the switch works. Better to physically check the tool for drive direction.
Do you measure your oil going in?
Don't you use a decent torque wrench for the sump plug?........Ask Santa for one :)
+Hepcat Harley Always measure the oil via a basic jug........then the usual is to let it run......let it sit for complete settlement of the oil in the sump and check again........
That's what I do mate, check the manual for amount then measure that in a jug then recheck after a quick warm up. Seems the right way to me :)
And i always check the rotation of any ratchet by hand first....just to make sure...old habits die hard buddy
Me too mate, even without thinking about it :)
Clock dial method, if it ratchets to the left it's on Clockwise drive, or tighty as Andy says. My ratchet switch is right for "loosey" so I don't use that method no no no :)
+Hepcat Harley Saves any heartbreak later on bud.....
Hope alls well anyways ..

Loosey Lucy what a goer lol
Makes you wonder what else they fucked up during the 1st service.
I only use K & N oil filters .
Have you had any issues with the clutch slipping with using fully synthetic oil compared to semi
Mr B did or has Mrs B passed her test yet ?????
Gave the job to the apprentice or cleaner I guess!
Dry ring....;o)
