May last year I bought a 1-2 person Night cat. Single skin free standing and only requires 4 pegs on guy lines to secure and stiffen the fabric. I found it good in heavy rain and tall enough to crouch or kneel inside and plenty of room for kit for one. Downside no vestibule. Also in my ham fisted manner I tore the material inserting the poles. Go outdoors are now have an offer on the bobcat 1 for £49 and the 3 season sleeping bag Fathom EV 300 for £44. Not always cheaper on line. I like your efforts

We had a tent somewhat like yours 'back in the day.' It had the same 'pin and pole' setup and a similar vent/cover system. Condensation was an issue and things got a bit frosty inside with just below-freezing temperatures. We did have sleeping bags with baffles down the zipper and around the neck. We also needed a good quality wool blanket to drape over the two of us. We could have benefitted from a blanket between us and the double air mattress we used (being a couple and all.) It all adds up to 'car camping' in the late autumn. We had too much 'stuff' to carry.

Is it possible to use proper coal in a hot tent wood stove?

If they had said the sleeping bag was perfect for temps between 15 & 5 C they would be on the money, a sleeping bag is safety-critical equipment it's not on to overclaim performance when somebodies life could be on the line all because they took the company at its word.

  • @-desertpackrat
    @-desertpackrat 2 роки тому +2

I was debating between a Night Cat and Clostnature but I got the Clostnature, it's pretty good, not perfect. I wante dthe Night Cat because the cheapest 1 person was like $40 or something, but the reviews for clostnature were a little better. The clostnature was a 2 person (so I can fit all my stuff, 1 person was too small) and it was $120 but it was on sale for like $79. Those amazon sales and coupons really help take a chunk out of the prices.
It looks like this tent is pretty similar tot eh Clostnature I got too. The overhang is similar, more narrow than it looks on the site and kinda works, but if it rains hard you need to partially close the flap or rain still gets in.
Also the neon green string, mine came with that too and while I don't mind because it helps me see where my guy lines are, I did notice that color was attracting some kinds of bee to land on it and bother me, they were attracted to the neon color.

You could have saved a fiver by ordering the blue sleeping bag and then spent that on a soft pillow.
You could then turn the sleeping mat around and put the hard pillow at the foot end of the tent and use your own soft pillow for your head. It would suit me as my feet & ankles swell if I walk any distance and I like to sleep with my feet raised. Even at home I have a pillow at the bottom end of the bed.
