The Astrolux FT03 XHP50.2 and FT03 SST40-W use the same MCPCB printed with “SST40-W”, but the beads are different in fact. Please do not worry about this, because the copper DTP MCPCB only plays the role of carrying the LED, it will not affect any parameters of the flashlight.
Specification & Features:
Emitter: one LED, cool white or neutral white , mounted on copper DTP MCPCB
Color temperature: cool white: 6000-6500K; natural white: 5700K
Flux: 4300 lumen
Intensity: 133,000cd
Range: 735 meters
Firmware: Tom E’s open-source GPL NarsilM v1.3 adapted by Texas_Ace
User interface:
[1] By default the FT03 is set to use the very intuitive Narsil smooth RAMPING UI. Instant access to a TURBO mode is also provided.
[2] A more conventional discrete level MODE-SET UI is available as an alternative. Any one of 12 pre- defined mode-sets can be selected.
[3] MOMENTARY mode is useful for signaling purposes or rapidly/briefly lighting up targets.
Note:
Forbidden to use a broken skin or broken battery, which is easy to cause a short circuit.
It is recommended to use 26650 battery, the flashlight can be used to the best.
Battery: One 26650 cell (or a 21700/18650 cell) Cells are not included.
Driver: Texas Avenger FET Driver with charging
Reflector: High quality smooth reflector

Thank you, means a lot 🙇
Thank you so much, I always watch your review before decide to buy any flashlight, your reviews have everything I need (measure, turbo time test, tint, beam, ....)

Just rewatched this and made an impulse buy. I don't think I'll be disappointed
Pretty spooky place there, with some eerie sounds in the background. I wouldn't go there without a light like the FT03!
I have one of these. It's a beast!
I just ordered one of these, FT03 XHP50.2 neutral White 5700K, treating myself to a Christmas gift. this year. thanks for the excellent review on these.
Same here, hope it arrives safely. Black Friday deal was too good to ignore. Planned to buy one a year ago but stock levels were bad and the AUD exchange rate kept dropping.
Don't need one but I still look forward to seeing if it lives up to the hype.
@@android584 So they have that Black Friday marketing down under as well? good luck, hope you get yours soon, mines due on Dec 5th, (from banggood).
I assume we both ordered from Banggood.
My Blue SS ring version arrived yesterday.
Very nice looking and throws far but Narsilm seems primitive compared to Anduril.
Thank you for the review, it was very helpful.

I'd love to see a comparison video between this and the SST-40 version. I'm mainly looking for throw, but the pure lumen output difference is insane.
There's some pics on this review
Well, your work has not gone in vain! I considering purchasing this to be my flashlight.
Personally which is your best flashlight you have? Need it because I have a very dark backyard like your backyard.
The Emisar D4V2 is my fave torch, I have one in the bedroom and one on my keys. The FT03 is a bit throwy for a backyard. The MF01 mini would be better.
These are going cheap on Banggood at the time of writing, but I have an SP36 and see that it is somewhat competitive with an FT03. I also have a Wildtrail D80v2 XHP50.2 rated at 3500 lumens which likely gives the FT03 a run for its money.
Amazing review! Thank you.
I'm really stumped why you didn't do more comparisons with sst40., other than a couple close range stills (which are from different angles and distance). Disappointing but you do a great job all in all. ✌️
thanks you \. love video.
Very top flashlight the best for the price and capacity

Just ordered one using your code, tiptop.
Just arrived, fully charged the 26650 from my Rofis MR70, inserted battery into FT03>>nothing! loosened the body slightly from the head, (works with the body loosened almost completely off) & the FT03 lit up, even though the Rofis battery is brand new, Turbo only lasts for 5/6 seconds, flashes 4 times then drops down.
Although the focussed beam throws more than the Rofis MR70, i much prefer the Rofis, will contact Bangood about this faulty unit.
@@kissofjudaz should have waited for the ft03s
@@furniksadventures9660 The standard FT03 steps down quickly, the S even quicker, too much cost for a little gain.

@@furniksadventures9660 It's actually a faulty unit, struggle to get it to switch into turbo, but at times when in momentary, it will switch from high to turbo & maintain as long as the button is held, after using the Rofis, the FT03 always seem intermittent in operation. I'm sure most of them are fine. Are there any clear videos that explain how to enable/disable the facilities in the UI? I haven't got a clue from the micro print user manual.
can be the clear len replaced? come with warranty if i need an exchange or refund?
I just pre-orded the ft03s (with the sbt90). I'm really excited and curious if the led upgrade (and firmware) is worth the price double of these ones.
I thought about it but tbh I'd prefer the floodier output of the 50.2, if search and rescue is your thing the 90 WILL KICK ASS.
Code still working thanks.
It's currently on a flash deal so no code will work until the deal ends.
Very nice video and light. The new dangerous place look scary. There must be aliens or scary clowns.😁
Not sure if it'll last long, it was a little too creepy even without the naff sound effects.

Fantastic review 👍
Yes Matt, i revisit your FT03 xhp50.2 again.. been comparing this with mateminco MT70 mini (ft03 form and driver) sfn55.2 ,(7070 flat led),(better beam compare to xhp50.2 according to TomE).
Considering ft03s sfh55 is floodiest and amp-hungry, and the price at my local store is on the same league as the sbt90 ft03s. I'm on the process to get something, that throws 100-150m yet have large spot ; dense with photons.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

Great video. Subscribed to the channel. You motivated me to swap stock sst40 in ft03 for xhp50.2

@@jeroennietsdoenn you can buy xhp 50.2 led and reflow it on stock mcpcb, you have to remove sst 40 led first ofc. But it is a bit difficult process, I've burned out my mcpcb in the process.

Hello from Malaysia, I just bought Astrolux FT03 after watching your video. I choose Neutral White color because it's the best. Previously I used Nitecore P30 and Convoy S2+, maybe it's time for something bigger and more powerful. Thank you bro, great video.
Convoy S2 doesn't come close to this!!!!!
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV, Convoy S2+ has always been the best edc for so long, durable and reliable based on my experience using it for a year. Cool flashlight I just bought two of them. But I only have the Samsung T30 batteries.
In your test they were better the bigger batteries they recommend should I just stick with 30T or buy the recommended size?
40T might be better. Similar output with longer runtime
Thank you for the fast response. I just saw the P42A battery and bought 2 of them, the specs of those just seem to be way better then all other batteries at the market.
How to use strobe. I have problem with that
I have the SST40 version. At the end you say you prefer this version. Why is that? Is the throw still good on this one and the lumens noticeably brighter?
Throw is negligible but the beam is much wider and the spill much brighter.
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV You'd just have a much shorter runtime and Turbo heats up quite quickly. For spotlighting/hunting the SST-40 is better if you want max runtime with decent distance

hello, is there stabilization there?
What a great video
Thanks for your reviews! Been watching them for hours, looking for noticable upgrade on Sofirn C8G SST40 on single 21700. It should be brighter with similar beam to SST40 or focused XHP50.2 (not laser, nor pure flooder). Please, advice.
I get it, that FT03 XHP50.2 has almost the same reach (even farther a bit?), but wider spot with more lumens in it? All magic lies in the head (reflector) of a torch?
Would FT03 XHP50.2 really be x2 brighter up to 200m? It's 1 on 1 led, same battery.
And another competitor - EC03 SST40 x3. I almost ordered it, when I saw comparison with this one, FT03 XHP50.2. FT03 XHP50.2 was a bit narrower, but way much throwy and luminous up to 300m! Is it true?
Astrolux FT03S?
@@FLASHAHOLIC_TV Isn't it too powerful and drops lumen fast? I intend to use it in the woods for hours on high mode (at least more than 1k lumens of Sofirn). Worried about thermal throttling of "s" version.
@@DarkNightmareUA Just run it at lower power, with the 50.2 you have to crank it up anyway to get some throw. The FT03S throws well at half power. Bit big though

SST-40 will run a lot longer and requires approx 7-8 Amps on Turbo and can sustain 20+ min at that level.
XHP50.2 has a shorter runtime as it's using 15 Amps on Turbo and gets hot fairly quickly

This hammers the SST40, TBH 5000 LUMENS from 1 LED/battery is insane.
If you just want the brightest output without caring about short Turbo runtime then it's much better. The SST-40 version can sustain 20+ min of Turbo whereas this XHP50.2 version gets very hot. You'll also get better throw and much longer battery runtime all round with the SST-40. You won't experience high lumens on the XHP50.2 version for very long until a battery change is needed
