You can try January but the tradeoff is that it's f-f-freeezing. Other tradeoffs: attractions could be closed for winter maintenance or there could be serious construction going on. I went in January and all the water rides were closed. Also, a good chunk of Jurassic Park was closed because they were installing the Velocicoaster track. They put up hilarious signs around the construction borders that said something like "Not responsible for dinosaur attacks!" I noticed in this video they tore down Shrek, I hope they retheme it to Villain Con or Super Silly Funland.

I usually go and they are lower than this. Not sure when it was filmed but was probably right before spring break
The only busy time in January is MLK weekend.
Going this september and hoping this is what the crowd level is like :) Tried to pick a quieter time.
