Personally, the only things that bother me about tower is being kicked to the bottom of the stairs every exit, and when you press next stage instead of leave you can’t edit your characters builds in between stages
Exactly I swear I almost raged in madness with this. Lol including "you even put us below the stairs" made me laugh the amount of time I had to walk back to that gate😂😂😂
You forgot the most annoying part, for me at least: if you share weapons between characters( or echoes) once you complete a stage you need to fully exit the tower and reenter to do any change of weapons/echoes The stairs of shame
The thing that irritate me the most is how sometime u can't change equipment n weapon inside the tower n need to go out first it's so bothersome. But this is the most annoying part: sometime, u CAN. Like wtf man.
@@RanRan_11 Random or not it's terrible. The interface should allow us to change characters and echoes in a much more accessible way. Having to quit out to swap a single echo or weapon is a headache.
It allows you. Only if either complete the floor(kill everything) or you get killed. Upon dying, you get an "Adjust lineup" button. Toggling it on will send you to the character switch interface if you want to retry. But you can't do this if you MANUALLY exit while still being alive. Doing so will close the Tower of Adversity entirely. Simple fix: Exit button after pausing should send you the tower interface by default, not exiting off the tower. That's like common sense, I don't know why it's not implemented like that. If I want to exit the tower, I can just exit two times if the current UX was like what I mentioned above. It's as easy as: EXIT: TO THE TOWER INTERFACE RETRY: RETRY IF I WANT TO EXIT THE TOWER ENTIRELY, I CAN JUST EXIT TWO TIMES FOR FUCK SAKE. OR YOU COULD JUST ADD THIRD BUTTON KURO GAMES!
Personally I just hate damage sponge time-limited gamemodes in any gacha, if they removed the time limit i think it'll be more tolerable among other QoL
without limit it would be fun, are you joking? XD if they make it fun, you're not gonna pull for the next stronger character :D These companies know everything they do, its not random, nothing is make for players to have FUN without a return. from the smaller to the bigger thing, EVERYTHING in games nowadays is made to milk people.
tbh I just hate that you get stars based on the amount of remaining time. This is the whole reason i never do Spiral Abyss in genshin (too stressful and admittedly i don't have enough built characters). It's easier on ToA but god I still hate that, idk why it can't do sth similar to guild battles in PGR
They did that in ZZZ. The enemies are still tanky as fuck and on later stages can 2-shot you if you're caught lacking, but no time limit is very much appreciated.
@Roniiberry They should have made it a score attack mode but they just copied genshin's abyss over and slapped a vigor system on it while somehow making the menus worse.
@@Roniiberry well i don't like that either, but its doable if you give it time and effort, and in the end it also become easy. I'd prefer stronger and harder enemies, but no time limit at all. if i have to repeat a fight 200 times cause im not good its a thing, but if i have to repeat it 200 times because i missed a crit or i was 3 seconds late, that's not fun at all.
At first I thought you were just nitpicking, but after thinking about it for a bit, I often find myself frustrated and sighing around when walking up the stairs. The difficulty is not a problem after 4 months of doing dailies, but you're completely right - the user experience needs some fixing. Most of my characters share weapons and echoes, so if I forget to switch a sword from one to another, that's another walk up the infuriating stairs immediately 😆. It only takes about 40-60mins to complete, but it does feel like I'm spending more time running up stairs than I am fighting. Great video!
Also the fact that the Character Details button will just disappear between runs, forcing you to leave the tower to change echoes and what not- that made me wanna rip my hair out
You call it nitpicks!!?? Nah, those are real problems, Rover! And you have such capacity to observe the details, even meticulously, to add more! Props to you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔥
As a software engineer in occasional front-end development, all your points are so completely valid. The UI design on Tower of Adversity is atrociously bad. WuWa seems to have a lot of bad UI design honestly...
@@abhiss6705 Yeah, I'm patient with them because they have bigger fish atm, and, it was similar with PGR at first, but they always got around to it. So, I'm hoping/expecting they'll do the same here. I just wish they used their own game for a little more inspiration. I love how humble they can be, but sometimes you gotta know when you're him. 🤣
I'm glad you make this video. There are a lot of QoL stuffs that Wuwa has improved over Genshin. Yet there are still stuffs like this that sometime is even worse than Genshin. Another annoying thing is when you click on a material, you need to go through a number of additional steps in order to get to the place to get it. In HSR, you only need to click once, you will be directed to the place or the teleport point near it.
Yes, there are many things that ZZZ copied from PGR, like clicking a material and being able to buy/craft exactly the amount you need right there in the menu and how quickly you can level items in the menus, meanwhile WuWa takes grand steps backwards from PGR copying worse systems from Genshin. Infuriating.
I really hate the time limit. Some bosses attack too often/have too many uparryable attacks(hello Scar). I am somehow supposed to do so much damage and not die💀
It is very well possible to do it. I've completed all towers twice and I play on mobile. Most players are on PC so it isn't even a problem. The whole point of the time limit is so it won't be like a regular overworld boss
Why are the enemies so spread out, WHY THE ENEMIES BACKPEDAL ALL THE TIME, why there's so many waves of small enemies, why are some enemies rooted to the floor, why is every fucking enemy resistant to Havoc and Electro damage, why increase the cost of vigor instead of just doing it like Pain Cage and using 1 point each run? I could go on and on...
Bro what are you talking about? Every gacha game is similar. The point is to build more characters or everyone would just use one team and the game would not be able to make so many money
@@daughterofgorgias7235 i mean i only built up the characters on my team, i don’t see why you need to build other characters unless you where putting them on your team or your having multiple teams
13:53 No... tower of adversity is much more fun... The only problem is that I have only one built character and that Encore so I get only 18-20 stars but this will change with Camellya... I have saved up for her 400+ pulls.
7:50 This is totally valid Lina, you don't have to explain. It's common sense that this gamemmode is built for us to retry 10 million times. SO WHY IS IT NOT BUILT AROUND THAT PRINCIPLE. What's worse? If you didn't made this video Lina... this wouldn't have been regarded as something to be concerned about. Why did I think of that? Because it's literally 1.2 already so why is it still not fixed. This was like the interface since launch and maybe even cbts. I'm pretty sure this isn't very difficult to address. It's time for Kuro to change these. 😭😭 Or we will RIOT! /jk
Also, if you want to change the lineup BEFORE starting the challenges, you can access the "details", and change the weapons and the echoes. If you want to "challenge again" toggling the lineup change, you will not be able to. WHY.
the "leaves" is totaly on point lol, it shoulve put us in the stage selection not making us quit the thing. but the menu are necessary, if u want to test if a team can finish under 3 min and u did it and it instantanly save the run it will be really bad overall meaning that if u wanted to try the team after u can't unless u do the level again with your first team
the two things i absolutely want wuwa dev to give is add a direact option to leave a stage nut not the tower sometime u just dont click the adjust team button and its so annoying also give us a option to chnge our char build in the tower sometimes it let u do it when u reuse the same char on the same stage but the build is diff it let u see detail.for someone who doesnt have much char build i am always swaping weapon and eccho its so anoying to do it again again for toa
i mean im not sure what you'd expect on a devs whose whole shtick is combat. I mean its not soulslike difficult but its up there compared to every other gacha game. So thats saying something. its only get more difficult overtime too, which is definitely gonna be stressful
@@jacenouzen I have no problem with combat in wuwa, I enjoyed it a lot actually. The problem is the higher levels of holograms need a lot of dps which requires you have a pretty strong build (you'll timeout otherwise). And my level is only 70 rn. On the other side, I love red enemies because I can parry them to death.
@@ElfinaAshfield try food buffs or better rotations/team comp. i've been clearing holograms no problem (except for dying a lot) despite being underleveled and not using meta teams. oh, and make sure to not use same element as bosses' resistance
One reason for kicking you out of the tower is probably because they WANT you to quit relying on the mode for Astrite. Slightly more likely to get frustrated players to spend money. I'm a massive leviathan in PGR, but it doesn't mean I'm blind to the psychological tricks employed.
Finally we are talking about this. They really need to do improvements to the tower which is not a tower at all. From day 1, I know it needs a lot of improvements but we didn't have it
If they remove the time limit and instead make you keep all 3 members alive like PGR then it would be a lot more fun to play. Basically, PGR used to have a time limit for bosses and it was annoying because you had to complete them in like 2 mins most times. As of late, all they require of you is to keep your team alive, so make sure no more than 1 member dies, 2 members, and finally keep all members alive. That's the 3 star mechanic for some modes. Other modes know that the battle is tough so they revive you upon death, so they say die no more than 2, 3 time, and keep all members alive. It's a really inclusive system for people who can't defeat bosses within a time limit. Like myself
ngl i prefer the challenge of the tower than the holograms, but the UX there is atrocious, easily the worst in the game. retrying holograms too is very tiring, makes you walk quite a bit, have to interact with the structure and menu again and while you're pressing and confirming you want to retry acharacter might die and you lose their energy and forte for the next try (at least you can first pause the game with esc and then press P to promp to restart while the game is paused)
Oh. My God. YES. THAT MOTHERFUCKING DOOR. AND YES WHY DO THEY SPAWN ME AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS?! The combination of the door and stairs alone has stopped me from retrying something in the tower and instead just open my map and go do something else.
It truly is the most annoying mode ever. Even their other game PGR, does it way better, even if you don't have the most OP teams. The UI is clunky, and not fast to edit team, nor is it quick between switching tower cycles, there's too much messed up crap around it. Wasting seconds upon seconds, its beyond insane, when comparing it to other gacha games. There are numerous bugs with bosses and just having the most ANNOYING monsters in there often. The games WuWa is trying to copy, are better games (Elden Ring) or any skillstyle action game (Devil May Cry), but doing it the worst way possible.
No, they are clearly undeniably copying that BotW rip-off garbage being advertised in video, at least with this game mode, i wish they not. They think people who will play WuWa also playing or played that BotW rip-off garbage and will not mind it, but thats not entirely true lel.
They already have a good formula for PGR, many combat games to reference from. But for the sake of familiarity- they followed too closely on something that doesn't work with their style. I also ignore ToA for these petty reasons... I'm glad there's at least a new system for 1.2 I didn't know about. Helps a tad bit.
The most annoying part of it including what you mentioned is not being able to swap equipment after stages where you finished a stage once. It's so frustrating to get out, adjust all my echoes and weapons again just to get back in and see everything you mentioned. There a lot of simple yet impactful QoL that WuWa can easily do for ToA and the others and hopefully they'll fix it next or after patch cause it's so annoying (though i still finished it because astrite)
One of the most annoying things ever is that you cannot change your weapons if you hit change the lineup my Rover and Changli share a weapon so if I forget to put it on the one that I'm using I have to exit the tower change the weapon and go back in it makes me go insane
they shoulda just made it like PGR's babel tower, three towers which a few floors, with unique buffs given to both enemies and allies. Big emphasis on survival and skill rather than DPS. Max score you can get is 1000 points, but you only need 300/400 for max rewards, and 600/700 for a 'flex' medal. 1000 is just there for those who want to push themselves.
1. I am a mobile player so i can just click whatever i see on the screen but i do agree with the problems/rant 😅 mentioned in the video. The interface for this mode is so counter intuitive. 2. There's also another thing, this mode commences fairly early on in the game which is good but the problem is most of the tough fights occur in the hazard zone. To complete all 3 towers u need heavily invested 3 teams with good synergy. For any new player who is like 2-3 weeks in, they won't have 3 teams or characters lvl more than 70. Its safe to say that early players won't even get a chance to play Lvl 90 content in the tower, so it kinda defeats the purpose for this mode. 3. They should extend the reset period for hazard zone further or they should re-enable the stable & experiment zones after the reset with all the rewards so that any player who is under lvl can still have some incentive to play this mode & farm the astrites.
My main issue with this mode is that its time limited rather than deaths or damage taken (like for example Shiyu Defense in Zenless Zone Zero) which kinda goes against the whole hardcore action game thing Kuro games are leaning into. If they can just change or add a separate mode that is ANYTHING but time limited I would be much more inclined to Mald and suffer for Asterites.
Thats what i've been saying in the survey.. the navigation in tower are annoying Not only that, i cant change loadouts in the menu, we dont have Prepared Loadout yet, no Go to tower menu button aaaaghh
Personally, I have no issues with things mentioned and with Tower's QoL in general (though it could have been better for sure), but rather with the Tower's content itself, because unlike Lina, I believe that the content itself IS bad. The main problem for me is the inclusion of enemies that are often so annoying to fight due to them running away, like those Fractsidus bazooka guys, exile gunners or those little crab-things that are jumping all over the arena and healing each other. I would rather fight enemies that are aggressive and are actively challenging your dodging skills And I don't like the Tower as a concept in general. Fighting huge HP sponges and resetting every time bad RNG screws you over and you lose time chasing your enemies who are doing an exceptional job at utilizing Joestar secret technique? I have been full-clearing the Tower for 1.5 months now, but it does not mean I had a good time. I really believe that they change the Tower to something similar to Warzone from PGR. For those unfamiliar, it is similar to Pure Fiction from Star Rail, where you fight waves of enemies with occasional boss spawning in and you have to reach a certain score to obtain all rewards. I feel like such concept is much more fun and engaging than chasing cowards or fighting sponges
"In 180 seconds or less...180 seconds is 2 minutes"??? The math aint mathin. I like how we all let our ocd annoyances run free in this video. I hate the leave button with a passion as well😂
the saving grace for ToA is you don't need to max star one floor to get the rewards, its a total stars from every floor instead so yeah for example can one star every floor on every tower and still got the rewards for total 9 stars (10/30) i can 30 stars easily now, but still not really like this kind of mode
This video basically sums up everything I hate about Tower of Adversity. I only have one Emerald of Genesis to share between Danjin and Changli. This means that when I use them one after another, I have to leave the Tower and climb up those stairs and wait for that bloody door to open. It's doubly strange when you realise it's possible to view and change character builds before you complete any battles, but the moment you clear any stage, that option is gone. The environment report has been insanely irritating as of late, especially in the Resonant Tower due to stage 4 having the Hoochief and 3 Hooscamps which are near-impossible to group, which leads to a lot of restarting, which leads to a lot of environment reports popping up. I can't take it. You can't even close it by mashing Esc on keyboard or anything. It forces you to click, which is just indescribably infuriating. I guess this is also a good time to mention how much I hate that they've had the damned monkes in the tower for what will soon be 2 months now. The Hoochief almost always opens with the filthy cage attack, and although the attack itself is fine and relatively easy to evade, the Hooscamps often end up on the inside of it and are effectively immune to all damage from melee characters until the cage disappears. Even worse is that they paired the monkes with the one and only overlord-class enemy with Spectro resistance, effectively nullifying the most effective 5* counter to the monkes (Jinhsi). I haven't even started on how said boss happens to have the worst hitbox in the game, second only to Jué,. Thankfully the other stages haven't been too bad, but I've lost my mind a couple times in the past from the combinations Kuro has pulled.
I rage quit last night after 60 tries because I kept being 10 seconds off from getting 12/12 on the right side of the tower with a Changli, Yinlin, Verina comp. And before people say "skill issue", I learned that boss' attacks by heart, dodged everything, did my rotations correctly and was dishing out a ton of damage and STILL couldn't 3 star Floor 4. I shouldn't need a character's signature weapon and perfect artifacts to clear that. I was able to 12/12 the left side with a Jinhsi team no problem.
Mhh are ur units at lvl 90? Changli/Yinlin/verina is solid but not that great On lvl 80 without sign weapon its tough On lvl 90 its pretty easy, changli can solo right side without sign(u need Emerald ofcs) without problems but only If she is lvl 90 Talents 10
Im lvl 56 so my units are 80 and i also miss 3 starts on right side for about 10 seconds with changli/sanhua/Baizhi (need verina and Yao for middle) But tbh im chilling, Tower ends in 2 weeks so i get lvl 90 in a week and do it again
@@ayasinx8797 Yh changli/Yao is very strong, in terms of clear time a Lot ppl say that this is the fastest Team in the game rn, over jinshis teams (If u swap everything ofcs)
on another note if you swap your gear with another char (like taking changli weapon and adding it to rover for more damage ) after you clean the stage with rover to swap your weapon back to changli you need to leave the tower wait for the loading and get back to the world change the items and join back again when if you join the tower for the first time you can change char weapons echo etc without any problems
After getting the free xiangli yao, 2 or 3 reruns of scar is enough to get max stars. Due to it currently I don't face many problems. I have been playing since release, and I also experienced the problems mentioned at the beginning of release. Building more characters and weapons will solve it. Fighting!!!
This may look simple for some people but for me its really annoying too, especially when i need to go back to the stairs to, enter the tower then change my lineup/echo
I didn't realise why I hated TOA so much but this video sums it up really well. Also as someone with skill issues I really hate that you only have 2 minutes to clear a stage and it feels like a waste if I don't clear the fight within the 2 minutes. I think the enemies being really bullet spongey doesn't help either. I prefer to fight a lot of easier enemies to a couple that feels like a drag to fight. A coop mode for TOA would be a good idea too.
all of what you said, plus the fact that once you start a fight, the "details" tab for Resonators disappear which means you can not change weapons and/or echoes unless you leave, which means you go back to the bottom of the stairs! this is so annoying especially if you use different Resonators depending on the floor.
I have not completed even a single floor of the tower. As a mobile player, it can be difficult but I can feel myself missing out on those rewards. Oh well.. I will wait until they release the game on console, as I don't have a pc, to give the tower an actual try. I literally just watched a 14 minute video complain about stairs, a door and a few buttons. 😅😂 Congrats on the Genshin ad
would love for dev to notice this vids. pretty much agree with all of it and also small addition is to include the clear time after each floor run would be nice touch too
It really is the little things where if they add up too many times, make you want to pull all your hair out and take a long drive on the highway and play the Freebird guitar solo while doing so.
Ive been able to 30/30 it for a while now and i still felt this video in my soul My accounts in a decent spot and only jinshi takes 2 or 3 retrying for crits so it should only take me 20-30 mins to be done with it, yet it still takes me 50 mins - 1 hour just because i forget to swap moonlit echo sets and rectifier weapons between yinlin, zhezhi, verina and baizhi and back out because of it everytime... Still fun to play and win in tho! (after we get through the stairs of despair)
Boy do i relate Also another really annoying thing as someone who shares weapons and echos with different characters (like everyone else) when you first go into the tower and select characters u can click a button called details that let you change echos and weapons on the fly The annoying thing is tho when youre going to a different tower after defeating one or died and clicked change lineup the detail button is gone so you have to leave to the stairs if you wanna change them
idk if im crazy or not, but on Mobile istg the leave/challenge again option did swap place, and I too, screwed by muscle memories, often click the wrong option and got yoinked out of the tower. Tho while at it, I had find some small details inside the towers that seem to be an adjustment to the alr frustrating manuver it have: There is a co-ordinate at the corner of the screen (at least on mobile) and apparently there is a 0.0.0 or basically spawn point in all towers and other domain-like challenges, which is way further than the place you initially spawned inside the towers. So it either where we supposed to spawn before the game even launch, or it just sth coincidence (which likely isnt, cuz they made an entire corridor for us to walk lol)
8:36 I get what you mean but I think you mean 120 seconds ideally as 180 sec will make you lose a star (dorito I guess) The math is correct but just then you flipped 3 minutes for 2, that is if the ideal outcome for you is 3 stars If it's 2 stars then there's nothing wrong there.
Problems become prominent when you play this mode for extended periods of time. So much time is wasted over navigating a badly designed interface. The fact that in their previous game(Punishing: Gray Raven), retrying and character lineup/gear modification is 99% of the gameplay, disappoints me even more.
This video has resonated with me on a spiritual level. Like, every gripe i have with ToA is exactly this, and that's why i put off doing it till a day or two before reset. just cause of how annoying the menus are
Holo crownless is tough Edit: I love the hologram fights but I fear when Crownless get one 💀 I'm not ready for that shit Illusive realm is fun Tower of Adversity imo is fun pain (it's pretty hard and fun) I agree about the door thing though, I hate it.
TOA is just a dps check. u get full crest if you get lucky rolls on echoes. its just so simple really. also just clear both sides u can ignore the center. u get 600 total every 2 weeks if u clear the easy ones like left and right. the hazard zone is just a bonus
The struggle with controller is real. They also doesn't have a key to open chat when in co-op mode and a lot of times I've to use mouse cause a lot of functions are not mapped for the controller yet. Thank you for mentioning these issues and becoming our voice once again.
I agree on Area report and stairs, but being placed few steps away from starting point is a good thing. It prevents unintentional battle starts from miss-clicking. I love ToA, converting seconds to minutes is 3rd grader level problem. Since I play on PC adjust team toggle isn't an issue, though I agree it should be better for controllers. My only problem with ToA is Scar's only parryable attack losing it's parry status making it harder to poise break him when the fight is Tailor made for the parry Queen.
The way they designed ui and ux experience in this mode is definitely questionable... It's so frustrating and it make me wonder if they even tested that Edit: Another thing worth mentioning is how the game lets you change gear inside the tower and sometimes straight up don't
For the gear changing thing, once you enter the stage, you need to leave the tower to be able to change your gears again (tedious ik, but they save your progress in the tower so it’s a nice touch to farm echoes and mats for weapons more efficiently)
Yeah, I kinda hate those times limit challenges too. Albeit, mostly because I'm being too lazy rising my characters (all of them at 80) and doing it at the slowest pace. Doing the "towers" at the barest minimum by completing the one that I know I'll win. If I feel like "I'm going to lose the time challenges anyway" or "my characters wasn't even strong enough," I will just stop altogether, and move one to something else. Why? Because I love to do it at my own pace (kinda like Hoartoise), and also I have other games I wish to spend my time at the moments.
the door gamemode is by far the best, reminds me of cursed waves fun builds to make. tower of fanta- adversity is just abyss from genshin but more unfair cuz the time limit to kill is too low to even bother getting anything past 18/30 unless you can jump from 18 to 24.
One thing that keeps me away from Tower is running out of energy. I only have 1 team and I don't wanna build another with the characters that are available atm.
Dude, same. We need to *grind* to get those characters up (I'm SOL 6 and I'm not leveling up to SOL7 until I know I can afford to lvl up my characters to 90 - or I'll lower the SOL after getting to 7). I have like 4 DPS built and they're all out of rigor....I don't have the mats or honestly, the willingness to lvl up a character who's at 40 to 80 just for the ToA...I thought rigor would reset weekly or at least per patch. but nope.
yea i agree that energy requirement is way too high. you need a full team ONLY for the 2 bosses, also a FULL team for the last stage of the other 2 side, because it uses 4 energy. meaning AT LEAST you need 2 full STRONG team + extra decently strong characters to clear the other 3 floors. its way too many characters and its because of the energy requirement.
@@WastedTalent83u have a point but actually u need 1 Team for each side but for the lower floors u dont need Supports, so its 2 teams with 3 DPS: u can use for example havoc Rover in left Side 3 stages alone On 4 Stage, u use havoc Rover, sanhua and baizhi U do the same on the other side with calcharo/Encore So u need just havoc Rover, sanhua, Baizhi and Encore or calcharo For the middle u need ur second team For example: Jinshi/yuanwu/verina Yao/changli/verina Chixia/changli/verina Jinshi/zhezhi/verina Jiyan/mortefi/verina Encore/chixia/verina U get the point So tbh u dont need a single limited unit to earn 30 stars Just do first 3 on each side with just a dps, add sanhua and baizhi for Stage 4 on both sides And take ur other team for middlle tower
I think a lot ppl expect that they can get 30 stars after 2 months of wuwa but in genshin u need a Lot longer So i think its fine, u need time to be strong enough for all rewards
@@Nesteayy still need 2 full team and other char strong enough to at least solo first 2/3 lvls. i can solo the first 3 lvls with Chixia no problem but i don't have another 4 star as strong as her, i don't even know if we have one with that damage and huge aoe.
I think ToA should not be time based challenge and you instead get your doritos by taking as less hit as possible , putting on yourself some handicap conditions and complete the stage with them, that way bosses need no nerf and we can enjoy our skill issue at our own pace. I also love to fight 3 ice doggos at same time without killing them too fast.
The horrible UX is 10x more gruelling when sometimes you have internet problems. ToA is so punishing and demotivating to play. Obviously, not in the sense of because it's an end game that you grind, but in the sense of interaction of the gamemode because of HORRIBLE design.
THANK YOU for making a video about all these frustrating little things. The very first time I tried to leave a stage and it kicked me out of the tower I sighed very, very deeply because that's exactly how genshin's abyss mode worked. Once again it felt like they didn't learn from their own, previous game :c wuwa devs pls I love you but the ui/ux design in ToA makes me wanna jump into the red tide
That's great timing to release this video, bc you know everyone that hates this mode did it yesterday, and the feelings are fresh in their memory. lol I'm convinced that not even the devs like this mode, since so many of this problems could easily be noticed almost immediatly while playing it. I already hate game modes that have very restrictive time limits, the complete lack of QoL and those enemies that constantly run away showing up often in this mode make it even worse, i do a single low effort run to get what i can get and i'm done.
Yeah there could be some QoL improvements fs. Btw I believe you can just press escape to close the banner, no need to mouse to it iirc. Also, little pro tip for everyone, swap cancels are EXTREMELY important in WuWa to maximize damage. It's good to know which attacks/animations can be swapped out early to increase your damage uptime and significantly increase the rate at which you build Concerto and Forte across your team. It also allows you to capitalize on Intro and Outro Skills more often which is extremely beneficial especially for reducing the enemy's toughness in some cases.
The idea of adding a sound queue when a challenge goal has failed is a pretty great idea.. you'll pay more attention to the combat rather than glancing every once in a while on the timer.
Your gripe with the door is very similar to the only reason why I still havent maxxed out the cooking mechanic. Also I gave up playing ToA completely because the time limit feels way too strict. I honestly might prefer if the doritos were based on number of hits/deaths or something instead. (Once they fix the door and menu issues)
@@RateUpRadioFingers crossed honestly, cause these days they miss quite a fair bit. I'm kinda confident for ff9 though, maybe cause the game is pretty comedic compared to the others. Especially zidane lol.
I actually agree with basically everything you mentioned. I don't even remember the last time I went to Tower of Adversity. I'm sure I've missed out on a lot of rewards for not having several teams of strong enough characters, and not wanting to put up with the friction, a lot of which you mentioned. 😅 So I get it, I feel like you've put onto words something I've always felt about the mode, but never bothered to articulate.
One of the biggest issue in TOA is parrying... It's so cringe. Everytime I parry the boss and character freezes but the timer goes on 💔 Unironically inferno rider and scar are fun to fight in TOA cuz of this cuz less parries...

I like the Genshin ad while complaining about the same game mode that also exists in Genshin, lol.
Ironic.
Ironic.
a genshin impact ad in a wuthering waves video is bizzare
this prove Kuro lack in marketing imo, they need to step up so the game hype will continue to exist
Am trully speechless rn
I was about to write it XDD

@@17ch18fn3oooeh it will alot of their budget if they try to advertize like genshin

Personally, the only things that bother me about tower is being kicked to the bottom of the stairs every exit, and when you press next stage instead of leave you can’t edit your characters builds in between stages
YES! Holy shit, whyyyy. It's so annoying
This. We can only edit once aaaaa
Edit: AND REMOVE THE ENVIRONMENT REPORT! ONCE IS ENUF FFS
THIS
God damnit
You can edit character builds in between stages in mobile version, sucks that it doesn't work on the PC version
Bro I thought it was a bug lmao, like why did that option disappear
Tower of Adversity? bruh its the STAIRS OF ADVERSITY!
Lol
NGL I misread that as Tower of Absurdity LMFAO
Holograms and Depth of illusive realm are my favorites modes .
Yes they're excellent!! ♥
Depths is my baby.
Getting to play essentially cracked EX versions of the characters in depths of Illusive realm is a delight. Hitting 1M damage with Jianxin was insane.
Not even FOMO of losing astrites gets me to do it.
😂
I know you got that credit card on standby.
I just do 18 stars and leave it at that, it's honestly not fun sweating to get stars on middle tower. Side towers are easy enough.
I'm f2p and i dont do the tower of adversity too
Same I just do it if I can clear it @@devildante9
Kuro, when we say "Leave", we want to leave the portal; not leave the whole Tower. You even put us below the stairs 😂
Exactly I swear I almost raged in madness with this. Lol including "you even put us below the stairs" made me laugh the amount of time I had to walk back to that gate😂😂😂
Same😂
Ikr😂
Kuro giving us "Dio to Polnareff" treatment
Also, not letting us change our weapons and echoes in the character select screen... It's available in farming modes, but not TOA
You forgot the most annoying part, for me at least: if you share weapons between characters( or echoes) once you complete a stage you need to fully exit the tower and reenter to do any change of weapons/echoes
The stairs of shame
Man, everyone kept saying how good it is that we can switch weapons but always leave out this detail 😭
@@lilblkrose I’m sure they’ll make it more user friendly at some point, hopefully soon
I guess thats because it wasnt ever the idea that u can do that
Like u also cant do that in genshin and wuwa follows genshins concept
Nah I prefer this over them not allowing the sharing at all tbh 😭
OMG yess this is annoying
The thing that irritate me the most is how sometime u can't change equipment n weapon inside the tower n need to go out first it's so bothersome. But this is the most annoying part: sometime, u CAN. Like wtf man.
It's not really random, it just happens after you clear a side.
It's as easy as:
EXIT: TO THE TOWER INTERFACE
RETRY: RETRY
IF I WANT TO EXIT THE TOWER ENTIRELY, I CAN JUST EXIT TWO TIMES FOR FUCK SAKE. OR YOU COULD JUST ADD THIRD BUTTON KURO GAMES!
yeah this is so annoying. My Changli and Rover shares the same weapon and my Bazhi and Verina shares echo
But you can... It's not random
Personally I just hate damage sponge time-limited gamemodes in any gacha, if they removed the time limit i think it'll be more tolerable among other QoL
without limit it would be fun, are you joking? XD if they make it fun, you're not gonna pull for the next stronger character :D
These companies know everything they do, its not random, nothing is make for players to have FUN without a return. from the smaller to the bigger thing, EVERYTHING in games nowadays is made to milk people.
tbh I just hate that you get stars based on the amount of remaining time.
@Roniiberry
They should have made it a score attack mode but they just copied genshin's abyss over and slapped a vigor system on it while somehow making the menus worse.
@@Roniiberry well i don't like that either, but its doable if you give it time and effort, and in the end it also become easy. I'd prefer stronger and harder enemies, but no time limit at all. if i have to repeat a fight 200 times cause im not good its a thing, but if i have to repeat it 200 times because i missed a crit or i was 3 seconds late, that's not fun at all.
reject tower, enjoy door (and by that i mean illusive realm not the infuriating door)
yea i hate that door lmao
At first I thought you were just nitpicking, but after thinking about it for a bit, I often find myself frustrated and sighing around when walking up the stairs. The difficulty is not a problem after 4 months of doing dailies, but you're completely right - the user experience needs some fixing. Most of my characters share weapons and echoes, so if I forget to switch a sword from one to another, that's another walk up the infuriating stairs immediately 😆. It only takes about 40-60mins to complete, but it does feel like I'm spending more time running up stairs than I am fighting. Great video!
Genshin Impact Ads on a wuthering waves video to repeat the same problems again and again is crazy😂
Also the fact that the Character Details button will just disappear between runs, forcing you to leave the tower to change echoes and what not- that made me wanna rip my hair out
Spawning player at the bottom of the stairs symbolizes mankind's futile struggle against the Lament
Surprisingly, considering how much better all these similar elements are in PGR...
@@nottyseel949 exactly , wish they redo it at some point ...
UI/UX is so important in these games
@@abhiss6705 Yeah, I'm patient with them because they have bigger fish atm, and, it was similar with PGR at first, but they always got around to it. So, I'm hoping/expecting they'll do the same here.
I just wish they used their own game for a little more inspiration. I love how humble they can be, but sometimes you gotta know when you're him. 🤣
I've hated it since the beginning, not fun hitting damage sponges at all.
guys i think she hates the stairs
If you do good damage , they get stunned faster so there is that.
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE PISSED AT THE STAIRS AND BUFF POPUP
Honestly i hate the vigor thing, i dont wanna have to build multiple characters just for 1 gamemode
Same here
Bro what are you talking about? Every gacha game is similar. The point is to build more characters or everyone would just use one team and the game would not be able to make so many money
@@Daisycutie16 you realise this is a gacha game right ?
@@daughterofgorgias7235 i mean i only built up the characters on my team, i don’t see why you need to build other characters unless you where putting them on your team or your having multiple teams
Then, there is no incentive to build or pull other characters. Every gacha game does this.
13:53 No... tower of adversity is much more fun...
WHY.
the "leaves" is totaly on point lol, it shoulve put us in the stage selection not making us quit the thing. but the menu are necessary, if u want to test if a team can finish under 3 min and u did it and it instantanly save the run it will be really bad overall meaning that if u wanted to try the team after u can't unless u do the level again with your first team
the two things i absolutely want wuwa dev to give is add a direact option to leave a stage nut not the tower sometime u just dont click the adjust team button and its so annoying also give us a option to chnge our char build in the tower sometimes it let u do it when u reuse the same char on the same stage but the build is diff it let u see detail.for someone who doesnt have much char build i am always swaping weapon and eccho its so anoying to do it again again for toa
holograms already caused enough headaches i really don't need more
Holograms are a cool test of your skills, but the user experience there is a bit of a test of your patience as well 🥲
i mean im not sure what you'd expect on a devs whose whole shtick is combat.
Having to exit and re-enter tower every time you want to switch a weapon or echoes and not having an echo loadout option like PGR is painful
One reason for kicking you out of the tower is probably because they WANT you to quit relying on the mode for Astrite. Slightly more likely to get frustrated players to spend money. I'm a massive leviathan in PGR, but it doesn't mean I'm blind to the psychological tricks employed.
Yeah every little things will add up for the uninitiated to swipe card.
Finally we are talking about this. They really need to do improvements to the tower which is not a tower at all. From day 1, I know it needs a lot of improvements but we didn't have it
The "Leave" one is painful 😔
Like myself
ngl i prefer the challenge of the tower than the holograms, but the UX there is atrocious, easily the worst in the game.
retrying holograms too is very tiring, makes you walk quite a bit, have to interact with the structure and menu again and while you're pressing and confirming you want to retry acharacter might die and you lose their energy and forte for the next try (at least you can first pause the game with esc and then press P to promp to restart while the game is paused)
what if you put a tp right next to the hologram and use it before the fight?
Oh. My God. YES. THAT MOTHERFUCKING DOOR. AND YES WHY DO THEY SPAWN ME AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STAIRS?!
The combination of the door and stairs alone has stopped me from retrying something in the tower and instead just open my map and go do something else.
They should also add a feature that let's you switch echoes and weapons in few clicks
finally a relatable tower progress.
Thats what i've been saying in the survey.. the navigation in tower are annoying
Not only that, i cant change loadouts in the menu, we dont have Prepared Loadout yet, no Go to tower menu button aaaaghh
ToA needs a remake... It can be a Warzone like: 3 stages, two fodder and one endless.
I would rather fight enemies that are aggressive and are actively challenging your dodging skills
And I don't like the Tower as a concept in general.
I hate the leave button with a passion as well😂
I may have left a word out 😂 😂
I despise the Environment Report being shoved on our face at every reload
the saving grace for ToA is you don't need to max star one floor to get the rewards, its a total stars from every floor instead
so yeah for example can one star every floor on every tower and still got the rewards for total 9 stars (10/30)
i can 30 stars easily now, but still not really like this kind of mode
Changli/Yinlin/verina is solid but not that great
On lvl 80 without sign weapon its tough
On lvl 90 its pretty easy, changli can solo right side without sign(u need Emerald ofcs) without problems but only If she is lvl 90 Talents 10
Im lvl 56 so my units are 80 and i also miss 3 starts on right side for about 10 seconds with changli/sanhua/Baizhi (need verina and Yao for middle)
But tbh im chilling, Tower ends in 2 weeks so i get lvl 90 in a week and do it again
I think this is a matter of damage ceiling. You should build your main dps echoes further. Or wait for Shorekeeper. It sucks, but it's the only way.
@@twitzmixx8374 I ended up giving Yinlin's echoes to Xiangli Yao and got 12/12 both sides easily lol....

Yh changli/Yao is very strong, in terms of clear time a Lot ppl say that this is the fastest Team in the game rn, over jinshis teams (If u swap everything ofcs)
I wish they just use the Warzone Or Phantom pain cage thing.
I FREAKING HATE HITTING SPONGES.
on another note if you swap your gear with another char (like taking changli weapon and adding it to rover for more damage ) after you clean the stage with rover to swap your weapon back to changli you need to leave the tower wait for the loading and get back to the world change the items and join back again when if you join the tower for the first time you can change char weapons echo etc without any problems
Don't forget about the locking on SINGLE OVERLORD ENEMY, like, the camera's focus was horrid asf like the player's span attention bro 😭😭😭
Ive been able to 30/30 it for a while now and i still felt this video in my soul
My accounts in a decent spot and only jinshi takes 2 or 3 retrying for crits so it should only take me 20-30 mins to be done with it, yet it still takes me 50 mins - 1 hour just because i forget to swap moonlit echo sets and rectifier weapons between yinlin, zhezhi, verina and baizhi and back out because of it everytime...
Still fun to play and win in tho! (after we get through the stairs of despair)
Boy do i relate
Also another really annoying thing as someone who shares weapons and echos with different characters (like everyone else) when you first go into the tower and select characters u can click a button called details that let you change echos and weapons on the fly
The annoying thing is tho when youre going to a different tower after defeating one or died and clicked change lineup the detail button is gone so you have to leave to the stairs if you wanna change them
idk if im crazy or not, but on Mobile istg the leave/challenge again option did swap place, and I too, screwed by muscle memories, often click the wrong option and got yoinked out of the tower.
8:36 I get what you mean but I think you mean 120 seconds ideally as 180 sec will make you lose a star (dorito I guess)
The math is correct but just then you flipped 3 minutes for 2, that is if the ideal outcome for you is 3 stars
If it's 2 stars then there's nothing wrong there.
I didn't notice the weight of any of these issues personally, but they're spot-on and now I'm mad too. 😂
Hope they hear and listen.
Problems become prominent when you play this mode for extended periods of time. So much time is wasted over navigating a badly designed interface. The fact that in their previous game(Punishing: Gray Raven), retrying and character lineup/gear modification is 99% of the gameplay, disappoints me even more.
Relatable...
I feel you. 😭😭😭
This video has resonated with me on a spiritual level. Like, every gripe i have with ToA is exactly this, and that's why i put off doing it till a day or two before reset. just cause of how annoying the menus are
Holo crownless is tough
Edit: I love the hologram fights but I fear when Crownless get one 💀 I'm not ready for that shit
Illusive realm is fun
Tower of Adversity imo is fun pain (it's pretty hard and fun)
I agree about the door thing though, I hate it.
you're better than me... i just don't do tower of adversity
TOA is just a dps check. u get full crest if you get lucky rolls on echoes. its just so simple really. also just clear both sides u can ignore the center. u get 600 total every 2 weeks if u clear the easy ones like left and right. the hazard zone is just a bonus
I always thought the door speak to me "touch some grass or you not good enough" everytime i press the leave button 😭🙏
I went into this place once, the tutorial quest for it, never went back
The struggle with controller is real.
It's so frustrating and it make me wonder if they even tested that
Edit:
Another thing worth mentioning is how the game lets you change gear inside the tower and sometimes straight up don't
Keeping us on our toes with the changing gear thing :))
U can change gear after u clear it once I think
For the gear changing thing, once you enter the stage, you need to leave the tower to be able to change your gears again (tedious ik, but they save your progress in the tower so it’s a nice touch to farm echoes and mats for weapons more efficiently)
Ty for the video. Finally someone talk about it. WW need some constructive criticism. Tech state in this game is awful and this should be voiced
There is another thing that irritates me. You can't change echoes and weapons after first fight without leaving ToA
@@WastedTalent83u have a point but actually u need 1 Team for each side but for the lower floors u dont need Supports, so its 2 teams with 3 DPS:
u can use for example havoc Rover in left Side 3 stages alone
On 4 Stage, u use havoc Rover, sanhua and baizhi
U do the same on the other side with calcharo/Encore
So u need just havoc Rover, sanhua, Baizhi and Encore or calcharo
For the middle u need ur second team
For example:
Jinshi/yuanwu/verina
Yao/changli/verina
Chixia/changli/verina
Jinshi/zhezhi/verina
Jiyan/mortefi/verina
Encore/chixia/verina
U get the point
So tbh u dont need a single limited unit to earn 30 stars
Just do first 3 on each side with just a dps, add sanhua and baizhi for Stage 4 on both sides
And take ur other team for middlle tower
I think a lot ppl expect that they can get 30 stars after 2 months of wuwa but in genshin u need a Lot longer
So i think its fine, u need time to be strong enough for all rewards
@@Nesteayy still need 2 full team and other char strong enough to at least solo first 2/3 lvls. i can solo the first 3 lvls with Chixia no problem but i don't have another 4 star as strong as her, i don't even know if we have one with that damage and huge aoe.
AHMEN to this whole video. I was convinced I was just too dumb to navigate these menus.
My only comment is that, inferno rider takes 5s to be hitted at the start
Yes. I fucking hate this guy.
The horrible UX is 10x more gruelling when sometimes you have internet problems. ToA is so punishing and demotivating to play. Obviously, not in the sense of because it's an end game that you grind, but in the sense of interaction of the gamemode because of HORRIBLE design.
I wouldn't mind something like Holograms. You are presented with a simple menu, stay in the overworld and quick options to exit and restart.
THANK YOU for making a video about all these frustrating little things. The very first time I tried to leave a stage and it kicked me out of the tower I sighed very, very deeply because that's exactly how genshin's abyss mode worked. Once again it felt like they didn't learn from their own, previous game :c
wuwa devs pls I love you but the ui/ux design in ToA makes me wanna jump into the red tide
Red tide feels comforting all of a sudden 😂
That's great timing to release this video, bc you know everyone that hates this mode did it yesterday, and the feelings are fresh in their memory. lol
I'm convinced that not even the devs like this mode, since so many of this problems could easily be noticed almost immediatly while playing it. I already hate game modes that have very restrictive time limits, the complete lack of QoL and those enemies that constantly run away showing up often in this mode make it even worse, i do a single low effort run to get what i can get and i'm done.
What’s crazier is there is a trophy for not hit on final floor
(Once they fix the door and menu issues)
bro you survived GI 1.0, a mere stairs and a door is nothing 😂
The final fantasy 9 soundtrack hits extra hard with the complaints lol, great vid
My favourite game of all time 🥰
@@RateUpRadio Its a great game, I really hope SE don't screw up the remake.
@@susanoshiro I'm so terrified of what will happen to the remake haha, hope they can capture the original charm
Everytime I parry the boss and character freezes but the timer goes on 💔
Unironically inferno rider and scar are fun to fight in TOA cuz of this cuz less parries...
