      +Zam Wam The same happened to me, a few years ago. About 5 months ago, i was walking through the street and i suddenly saw him, he was a really big and savage, but yet lovable, cat. We stared at eachother for about 20 seconds, he meowed then run away. It was a very special moment, thanks for making me remember it.

    This may be one of the greatest jams between 3 brilliant musicians I have ever heard! Pounding crazy drums and fills, wicked keyboard solo, and dat bass groove! Thundercat's vocals! OMFG! Thundercat needs to keep this lineup and make a live album and a billion more studio albums with these dudes. They fuckin' rock!

    • @richardhodge4556
      @richardhodge4556 4 роки тому

      I found Jaco unlistenable, just weird spaced out electric base noises with no semblance of a melody or song. I know he’s got a legion of fans but I can’t get into it. Thundercat on the other hand...

      Richard Hodge jaco is one of tcats biggest influences ;-))

    • @richardhodge4556
      @richardhodge4556 4 роки тому

      @@SnyderChips07 No doubt about it. I'm not saying Tcat is better or worse, he just takes Jaco's riff's and applies them to very listenable music. Plus tcat's bandmates are on same level as him, which helps.

    • @richardhodge4556
      @richardhodge4556 4 роки тому

      @@SnyderChips07 Plus the consensus seems that jaco is a "bass player's bass player" (if that makes sense), his music is just not that tangible to the common ear, which probably applies for myself. Looking at him noodling away with his instrument I have no doubt he's on some god-level for bass, lol.

    I'm really glad they posted these videos, because it did not sound at all like this at the show... You could hardly make out anything with the way it was mixed. Which is really unfortunate, especially when he was reharmonizing and singing the ending theme to Adventure Time. I could hear a little bit of what was going on, but not nearly enough to really hear how he was embellishing the harmony/root movements.

      @brandonguimbellot7734 9 років тому +6

      That's crazy. I don't understand why sound guys are okay with everything being bloody muddy. Especially when it's for the sake of "feeling the bass." As a bassist it's incredibly annoying to have a sound ruined by too much bass, whether it's from the actual bass instrument or not...

    • @fNNR
      @fNNR 9 років тому

      Sometimes it's hard for the sound engineer because of poor acoustics, especially at low frequencies... This kind of music requires very short reverberation times to sound good and I'm guessing this hall doesn't have that quality. But I totally agree with what you're saying, muddy bass that masks everything is so annoying! :)

    • @komjong
      @komjong 9 років тому +1

      Finnur Pind or shitty speakers are the usual culprit.

    • @brandonguimbellot7734
      @brandonguimbellot7734 9 років тому +4

      Finnur Pind It's also a matter of, "Yeah, it has to be ear-piercingly loud!!" A couple weeks prior The Bad Plus played there and it sounded absolutely great, but with Thundercat it was so much louder and everything just became too muddy. I totally agree about bands really needing different halls to truly sound spot on, but a good sound engineer should know how to make the best of a spot.
      The same has happened with Snarky Puppy. The first time I ever saw them they had the engineer (I think) that did their GroundUP record. He made a crumby venue sound absolutely fantastic and a big part of it had to do with the fact that my ears were not about to explode. As a result, a proper mix could be established.
      Ever since then, even in the same spot, they have had other guys and it's always insanely loud and muddy.
