    If I was going to live in an RV, I would probably choose this floorplan cuz I could use the lower midbunk room for my son's bedroom when he's with me.

    I looked at this fifth wheel in the thumbnail and I thought "Yep, JD's gonna suggest towing it with at least a 1 ton truck, preferably a dually!"

    • @josephmcclary9667
      @josephmcclary9667 4 роки тому +4

      thatguy263 my 1-ton Dually isn’t even rated to pull that much.

      @@josephmcclary9667 Makes sense. Guess it would depend on how a specific truck is equipped.

    • @alextrainor2552
      @alextrainor2552 4 роки тому +4

      He reccomends dually trucks because they are more stable and wont crash and burn in a tire blowout situation. They also have better gear ratios and better brakes than srw's. Its reasonable to be honest.

    • @tedrehm8074
      @tedrehm8074 4 роки тому +1

      Most 3/4 ton trucks probably wouldn't have the payload to tow this. Even if it was only 14k pounds loaded, which is 1k over its dry weight, the pin weight would be close to or over 2800 pounds. Not even many gas 3/4 tons have that much payload and not many 1 ton SRW diesels have much more than that either. I would have to agree with JD on this one.

    You show some very nice units, thank you. I also love all the info you provided to help someone decide if that particular trailer / 5th wheel is the right one.

  • @bflo716
    @bflo716 4 роки тому +8

    This unit would be great for a family with young teenagers. It allows each kid to have their own private sleeping space on a bed they don’t have to share. Also gives the parents to have a room where the kids can play video games on a gloomy day. I like this unit quite a but considering the price. Less than $60k and there is quite a lot of amenities.

    This is certainly one of the largest mid-bunk models I have seen. It's quite likable. The Azdel sidewalls is quite an amazing feature of this 5-er, as well. Good review, JD!

  • @michaeldankert792

    One thing I don't like on virtually every 5th wheel I've come across is the layout of the beds. Almost universally, the head of the bed is in a slideout with no side tables. Most travel trailers have adopted the same type of floor plans as well.
    When we chose our camper (Open Range 272RLS), that was a must for us. We utilize the side tables all of the time.
    Other than that, about the only thing I don't care for in most layouts is the tv/entertainment area being right next to the stove area. I like having a cabinet or pantry to make the delineation from kitchen to the living area.

    I love the mid bunks and lofts but I’d want the extra bunk and desk for an office or overflow. I agree with the coffee space even though I was first impressed with the large pantry. Coffee nook would be perfect. Master is somewhat not exciting. I like overhead cabinets over the dresser and even though we have a king mattress in ours I’ve learned to prefer a queen for easier access for changing sheets. I guess I’d have to keep looking because the features I prefer are out there. Nice 2 inch walls

      I think they intended at a makeshift coffee serve on either end of the island since there are plugs and its extra-large especially the end near the fridge would work...

  • @ckitcrider5906
    @ckitcrider5906 2 роки тому

    I agree w/adding more counter space on the pantry wall directly across from the entrance door. Bunkroom can easily be remade into an office, and the loft needs stairs not a ladder. Would have been perfect for our needs except for those items. I need steps to loft for myself as well as my dogs. People getting close to retirement age have enough trouble with stairs as is, but those ladders are ridiculous.

    Very nice unit. I like the extra bedroom and loft. It's always better to have guests have their own private sleeping place. Good point regarding the 2" walls with Azdel rather than the better suspension. I really like it when you recommend the better and best features that the RV really would be better off with. 👍

    I love this rig! Me and my family just started camping last year and we bought a pretty small camper just as our starter camper. My parents said this year or next year we might get a new family. I have two brothers that could sleep in the loft and since I’m a bit older then them (13) then I feel I could have “my own room” aka the mid bunk, I love this rig, thanks for sharing!

    I’d like too see side tables in the bedroom, a space for coffee maker instead of the additional pantry space and doors on the cabinet in the bathroom. The white upholstery looks nice but not practical for families with kids, at least not my grandson. I’d be cleaning it constantly. Love the Azdel sidewalls, easy upgrade on the suspension and tires. Not my favorite, but not too bad either.

    trailer sealed wet ya is awesome. It’s materials found in high end fishing boats ..
    I’d like to see the widetrax suspension system that heartland offers
    The outdoor kitchen could be better and they have it available
    The side wall construction is pretty awesome. We had 4 RV’s destroyed in a massive hail storm not a scratch on these heartland models with the 2” foam aluminum design
    We are trading it in and getting the 2 bathroom model

    Loved this floor plan, very spacious. It needed the flip up bunk in the bunk house tho. I would have thought at this price point an outside kitchen would have already been in place. Was there a separation wall between the generator prep area and storage? Lot of bang for your buck with this coach.

    Almost exactly what I'm looking for. The cabinetry in the master bedroom was kinda blah though. Would prefer a smaller window and more dresser/possibly a 2nd fireplace and a TV area centered in front of the bed.
    Otherwise, yeah, looked nice! Totally would turn the mid bunk room into my office/computer room. How much weight can one of those slides support? Couple hundred pounds?

    Throw a couple of TV tray tables in that mid bunk and you can have some work space when the bed isn't deployed. It's really a shame there isn't more space to work with, though.

    bout time they figured out that you can't take a drop frame anywhere but Rv parks, so most of us won't but one because it's a one-trick pony that cant travel down most of the basic dirt roads out west, any kind of transition up or down and it's a NO-GO Hello to Half your sales?? I think they intended at a makeshift coffee counter on either end of the island since there are plugs and its extra-large especially the end near the fridge would work... but they could have notched just 18 inches verticaly out of the pantry and stuck in a (coffee Shelf) with pantry still above and below

      So, something to note about the RV industry is that they generally go with products that have been tested and used for a long time. Tankless heaters as well as other cool innovations tend to come with increased warranty claims that dealers sometimes don’t respond to in a timely fashion.

    I thought you said that the slide with the dining table came into the trailer such that it blocked the kitchen! That would be an absolute no go for us. You couldn’t get to the frig or anything. We want to get to the frig and the table when we stop during our journey. When our slides are in the only thing we can’t get to is the tv, fireplace and one recliner. The entire kitchen is completely open and available for use. I really don’t like cables. I’ve seen the rubber torn up by the cables. It is pretty, has a nice floor plan. The leveling control is on the front of the RV totally exposed to the weather, rocks, etc. that is horrible. The only thing this unit has going for it is the azdel 2” thick side walls. Incandescent lights?! All bling but lacking in many critical areas. I wouldn’t buy it. It is very inexpensive, so much so that it seems cheap.
