I tried recreating this recipe with good results. I made one addition which boosted the quality of the sandwich. I added some roasted sweet peppers in oil. The texture of the peppers is fatty and there taste is sweet. I think they make a good addition and are consistent with Samin's food philosophy.
i love her videos because she's so real about cooking. Like when do you actually pull out a measuring cup in your kitchen? Put your hands in that tuna! Eat the veggies while you're prepping!
I saw this and made it with some fresh albacore from the coast. OMG this is so delicious I cannot even explain. Life changing. A regular tuna sandwich will never be the same. Thanks so much Samin!
I love your Netflix show and the sparkle you bring to it. Tuna fish sandwiches are my favourite as well, it never occurred to me to make them with fresh tuna. I will definitely try this with less salt.
I dearly loved the Salt Fat Acid Heat Netflix show!!! I've watched it several times and learn something new each viewing. So far, I don't care for most confit dishes because the oil lingers too much. This tuna may be the one exception where it is appropriate so I'll try it. Thanks Chef Samin!!
made this sammich for me and the familia. they loved it. Wasnt really expecting the amount of acidic punch with the olives and onions but was really enjoyable and Summer-y
It makes me very happy to see Samin in my favorite UA-cam channel. Love her and her series and just started to read her book. I was thinking about asking for some Persian recipes, but I know they are not easy to make, and if this is the amount of work she puts into a tuna sandwich, I don't even want to imagine the amount of energy her Persian dishes might take! I'm missing a friend like you in my life Samin. Lots of love from a foodie :)
Samin is so fun to watch. Not only do you learn good technique from her, but also the sheer joy of making something delicious. She is infectious, like laughter.
I have so many cookbooks by lots of cooks and from many restaurants but her book is the only one I've been able to actually read from front to back. No joke, every sentence in the book has value.
I love her! Her food is just about being good - she is not interested in selling her food to you by pandering to fads. It is just about the most respectfully best tasting food you can make. Samin - you are an example to the industry and deserves to be on our screens all the time.
I was first introduced to Samin in BA s test kitchen videos when she made bread with brad. I love her so much she’s the best. Has a great personality and really good tips much love I wish her the best with her books and Netflix
This woman is fabulous! Can't wait to try this recipe. Beyond that, she peppered her dialogue with some great hints and tips as she worked. Cooking the tuna in olive oil is something I will try.
She was so much fun to watch. I love a good tuna sandwich, but never did I think of using a tuna fillet to make tuna sandwich. Got to try this at home.
That cookbook was one of the best cookbooks I have ever read. She has this style of TEACHING you how to cook, instead of just listing a bunch of recipes. You get to go on a little journey. It is also illustrated well. And if you get the hardcover - also get it in digital format because there are links and references back and forth to the relevant pages in the book. I have it open on my tablet when I read it in the kitchen.
Pan Bagnat (wet bread) is from a city in France called Nice. It basically means that the bread is soaked in olive oil, not mayo. The bread is also suppose to be a round one...But I freaking love tuna sandwiches and yours looks amazing !
We made this for Valentine’s Day and it was fantastic! I couldn’t find the exact olives, but everything else was as directed. Couldn’t stop raving about how delicious it was.
I am so happy to have Samin Nosrat in my life, her recipes always inspire me so much and the netflix series was great. She really needs to be renewed for another show!
I found this!!! Omg I’ve been dreaming of this recipe for over a year. My cousin caught blue fin and I poached it today and found this for my sandwich I’m sooooo happpppyyyyy
@@marcyeaglecloud4572 I made this and can confirm. The absolute downside is if a tuna sandwich doesn't taste like the one she made, it's like eating garbage.
God bless her. How lucky for all the people around her, she brings great positive energy, and great foods. I love her, I'll never enough for her foods and her giggles. Keep cooking, Miss Samin 💐😊👏
This Netflix series was very well done. Wonderfully informative, stunningly shot, and Samin has such a warm, engaging personality. I wish there had been more episodes.
WOW not sure im going to put in that much effort into making a tuna sandwich but that looks incredible and i dont mind watching this over and over again
Lol.!My Favorite Bahn Mi Shop makes the perfect French Bread for this amazing sandwich .(Lu's-Mlps)Light crust, Great Crunch, Soft Inside. I dream about It. You still have the roof of your mouth when eat 2. Cause Who eats 1?
Just made this. Took a bite, and I'm sitting here staring at it, trying to convince myself I actually made something so delicious. I don't even like sandwiches that much, but I would happily eat this everyday. I used Japanese Kewpie mayo, which is already delicious, and added some squirts of lemon and some of the tuna oil to make it more luxurious. And even though my tuna was SLIGHTLY overdone, it all came together and I didn't even notice.
Honestly love her so much! She is actually an amazing cook and she is so real and authentic - not fake or too perfect because that is just annoying and fake.

I literally applauded the moment she presented the done Tuna Sandwhich... So lovely!
This recipe is also amazing with salmon and dill instead of tuna and basil. But keep everything else the same it’s sooooo good!!!! I love this recipe
This girl changed my perspective on food in the best way possible. I love her!
I love how real she is. Plus, that looks like an awesome tuna sub.
This woman has such wonderful energy! I could watch her cook all day

I love the vibrant joy that just radiates from her when she cooks. She seems like such a beautiful soul.
I love her ! Such a passion and simplicity in her food! Could you just give her more shows please?
Samin is so amazing. I love to see her talking, I love to see her cooking and I most definitely love to see her eating. She's pure gold.

I was hesitant about the bread, but with so much moisture in several components, the bread is probably a smart choice.

I love her, she does things the way I do too!! I saw her Netflix special and I was caught in her charm and intelligence!
That tuna looks so good, usually I buy tinned tuna which is just well done and gray lol
i love how passioned she is about the importance of every single step and ingredient of the dishes. love sam
I really like making Chickpea Salad Sandwiches.
I’m going to try the pickled onions next time
Her videos are so engaging.I love the way she seasoned the tuna I need to try that .😍
"i always insists that a tuna sandwich has mayonnaise on the bread AND in the tuna" now you're speaking my language. love me some mayo.
I just watch her for the joy she exudes; the recipes are a welcome bonus. Such a lovely personality.

i love this chicks energy! i want to eat this...i basically gained 6 pounds just by watching LMAO
It's 3:49 AM and here I am watching a tuna sandwich recipe, and I'm glad I am. This chicks gives off the best vibes lol.

I've rewatched this so many times, she is so delightful
I haven't followed a recipe in decades, but I've watched this video 10 times and I MADE IT TODAY AND IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I'VE MADE ALL YEAR. 😭😭😭
Please tell me you used canned tuna and it tasted find lol my student bank account wouldn't be able to take the impact of buying a full fillet of tuna

I made it and it was a magical experience . I used jarred tuna because I’m fancy and poor .

I love her so much. She channels Julia Child and it gives me life.
